sithicus Report post Posted November 19, 2006 (edited) Every self-respecting fantasy world has one. Or at least, it has something under the ground where evil lurks and plots and does whatever it is supposed to do. The deeper you go, the worse the monsters. Never mind there isn't much to eat down there, this is why the monsters want to eat you so much when you go there. Also, Mortos was sitting somewhere in the dark for ages. Perhaps there is something down there in the gold mine, deeper than the evil tunnel where the monsters come from... that tunnel is usually quite empty. I suppose the monsters come from a terrible set of caves even deeper, or just a portal away, but certainly it has ssomething to do with VOTD tunnels. Should we make a terrible series of PK caverns deep down, filled with monsters and (perhaps) the valued seridium ore? There might even be a dark elf city somewhere (after all we have drow walking around nowadays). Edited November 19, 2006 by sithicus
Derin Report post Posted November 19, 2006 Almost all this is probably very true, there are mysteries that are still uncovered. With time and luck these things will be revealed, if they will be publically know is another matter though. Regarding Mortos. The place he was banished to is known as the Inner Realm. Once sent there you cannot escape, but it is also know that Mortos found a way - the passage of the Shadowlord. We can only pray that we will not find that passage, as it will lead to certain doom. sithicus Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Doom or power? But even if Mortos was sitting in some difficult to reach plane, in the IOTF thread, Acelon mentioned the mortal Dryx who actually found Dvar by going somewhere. Surely Dvar doesn't reside in such a bad place as Mortos did?
Derin Report post Posted November 25, 2006 It is doom, not power Dryx has found his own personal doom, trapped in the magic stream. How and where Dryx found Dvar is not known, one who holds the answers is lost to the world and the other is trapped beyond salvation. So in a sense the Inner Realm and the Magic Stream provides similar outcomes for the ones who are locked there.
