Duck X Report post Posted March 18, 2005 Well the server just crashed and i thought of something that might mean items could be duplicated. ok, lets say person A gives person B an item. Person B then logs out, his file is now saved. person A continues playing when server crashes. person A finally logs back on to find that all the items he gave away are now back in his inventory. so, does that mean Person B has lost the items, even though he has saved, or have the items duplicated giving person A them back, while Person B's are saved? Puntif Report post Posted March 18, 2005 Due to the way a person's stuff is stored by the Eternal Lands server there has always been a case where an item may be duplicated or lost entirely by a server crash. In any case, now we are logging extra stuff, so we can detect who and how crashes the server. That's what enabled us to fix the last bug on such a short notice. That's what enabled us to fix the last bug on such a short notice. would it not be possible aswell to give away all your stuff, then never log out and simply wait for a server crash? granted it wouldnt be effective, but perhaps if characters were saved after a set period of time?
