  1. Hello, Vass_71 here. The game recently became unplayable for me because whenever I log in, play for a few minutes, then the game freezes, then the window becomes not responding. No matter how long I wait it doesn't get resolved by itself and if I click then it gives me the option to close the application. This has never happened before on any of my computers/laptops. It only started occurring after the client update (1.9.6.p1). I am using the 64-bit installer from the Eternal Lands official website. Please help because I just wanted to return to the game but this inconvenience came up... Kind regards, Vasil

  4. On my ubuntu laptop EL seems to fail very frequently with either 'invalid memory access' or 'invalid machine code' (or 'invalid instruction' - I need to translate back to English). 5. If you are using the Linux installer from the official downloads page with sound or music enabled, you will experience a client crash when you open a web page using F2 or the URL window. This DOES NOT EFFECT the windows and mac clients, it DOES NOT EFFECT the Linux packages Burn produces for SUSE or the packages I produce for Ubuntu/Debian/Mint, it DOES NOT EFFECT builds you might do from source. I have now done a new client build that has a work-around for the problem. AFAIK, it is not a client bug, but rather an incomparability between the version of pulse audio used for build and the version of pulse audio on most distros. The work around turns off sound before opening the web page, turning it back on immediately afterwards. This will obviously cause playing sounds to stop, but they will start again almost immediately. Music will stop but restart from the beginning of the track. Hopefully, this will not be too inconvenient. The new installer can be downloaded here. You can just unpack it over the last version. These are links to download just the client for 32-bit and 64-bit. If you download just the client then make sure you copy it into the install directory and make the file executable using "chmod +x <file>".
  6. Crash upon opening

Hey guys. I downloaded the game and when I tried to open it, it crashed half-way through loading. I then checked the code and changed the #use_animation_program=1 like the download page says. It was already on 0 so i changed that to a 1. It still crashed halfway through loading. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? Help me please!!

  8. Crash on login - out of ideas

Hello everyone! I played EL for years, and now I'm using another PC. It's not working on it. I have downloaded the installation from the EL site today. EL crashes when I try to login. I read many forum topics about this issue, but none of those helped. This is why I created a new one. PC specs: OS: Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3 Graphics Card: ATI RADEON 9800 PRO OpenGL Version: 6.14.10.9026 Direct3D Version: 6.14.10.0647 I tried the following: -graphics driver updated -the problem with atioglxx.dll is solved -uninstalled and reinstalled EL -I have checked the Poor Man option, and also the ATI bug option -the 'Use animation program' is unchecked EL starts always in full screen mode, even if I change the el.ini file. It also shows me the rules at each startup, like each startup is the first one... It looks like that EL doesn't even read the file. On the EL login screen is no background. It's only white.
