Single Tiles

Recommended Posts

Ok i'm pretty new to map making, so i'll admit my stupidity right off the bat.

I'M REALLY IGNORANT! :D

Now that that's finished, i can move on to my question. How do i kill (or make unwalkable) single tiles. I am using the grid, and i can only get groups of tiles to be killed. Also TAB does not do anything (that i can see, in height mode). I've dled the new editor, and have ready the manual. Yet i can't get single tiles to null. kinda makes my fence placing hard and my house placing very bulky. :P

Any help would be appreciated.

sorry for my ingorance also.

Use height maps, deleting a ground tile only..deletes it, it doesn't make it unwalkable.

Hitting tab in height map mode will show the height squares at their actual height, instead of just color shades on the ground.

been there tried that...i've been trying to hit TAB in height map :P doesn't work. Unless i'm sooo stupid i don't know how to do it. Lets review

1.) Click on stairs icon in upper left hand corner.

2.) Hit TAB to bring show heights

3.) Click on tile to edit (?)

Seems simple, am i missing anything?

Also, how do i get to lay tiles one at a time on the grid?

Also, a FYI- those aren't groups of tiles...tiles are LARGE (ie. 16*16 map=16*16 tiles).
