Ben Report post Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) My FPS is lower/My Mac is noisier/How do I disable High Resolution mode? If you’re running an older or lower-end Mac and have noticed reduced performance or increased fan noise, you may want to try disabling High Resolution mode: If you open the game via the Launcher: Untick the Enable High Resolution option. Opening the game via the launcher ignores the "Open in Low Resolution" setting within the Eternal Lands app's get info window (see below). If you open the game via the Eternal Lands app: Navigate to the app in finder and right click on it > Select Get Info > Tick Open in Low Resolution. High Resolution mode will remain permanently disabled when opening the game via the app until you untick Open in Low Resolution again. Ben Report post Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) How do I install custom maps? As of version 1.9.5p8, the macOS client includes the minimal BurnedMaps pack by default, eliminating the need to install it separately. If you'd prefer to use an alternative (such as the full BurnedMaps pack) you may install them at the following path: ~/Library/Application Support/Eternal Lands/updates/1_9_5/maps/<the .dds files go here> Warning: this feature is not officially supported. Mods are not obligated to help if you submit a #help_me request. Edited May 1, 2020 by Ben
Ben Report post Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) What if I am running a version of macOS older than 10.14 Mojave? If you've been holding out for a version of Eternal Lands which fully supports modern versions of macOS, it is now safe to upgrade. If you can’t (or don’t want to) update to a newer version of macOS, you may have luck with one of Sir_Odie’s older Mac builds which are available here. These builds are not recommended for users with modern versions of macOS due to missing features and incompatibility with newer GateKeeper requirements.
