Guest PDragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 I downloaded the game and so did my wife, she is now playing the game fine, but when I click on the shortcut on the desktop the game starts to load, the process appears and then as soon as it does, it goes and the game does not start at all... Any ideas why?

Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 Also I; updated my drivers updated java updated direct x and pretty much updated everything I could... And did all of my optional windows updates. Still have the same issue of the process starting and then suddenly stopping...
Elke Report post Posted December 22, 2012 The quoted dll from that crash C:\Windows\system32\aticfx32.dll is part of the ATI graphics driver (possibly related to the crossfire functionality). I'd suspect the issue to lay around there..
Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 Well, my laptop is 64bit and I do not have aticfx32.dll on it, I do however have aticfx64.dll..... I have an integrated Intel i3 dual processor built into my laptop, also according to the specs listed on the website, I also have an AMD processor built in here somewhere, much to my surprise... I can run games like League of Legends, Torchlight 2 and stuff like that just fine, its just this one that is giving me trouble.... And leaving me very confused.... Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 Just to make sure I had not uninstalled something I should not have, I reset my laptop back to factory settings, then I made sure that all of my drivers were up to date, then I installed directX 11 and all of the missing directX 9 files ( that apparently cause some games not to run if they are not present) I now have 2 aticfx32.dll files that were not there before, but I am still having the same problem..... I am now completely at a loss and do not know what to do at all....
Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 One more thing - C:\Windows\system32\aticfx32.dll Does not exist on my computer, the 2 aticfx32.dll files are in C:\\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepositary\ Both of them are with a bunch of ATI files but I do not have an ATI driver.... so confusing.... hussam Report post Posted December 22, 2012 EL doesn't use directx. it uses opengl. You will need to download an updated driver from the graphics card vendor's website (drivers from microsoft windows update won't work as they are missing opengl support). This means http://ati.amd.com if you have a ATI graphics card or http://nvidia.com if you have a nvidia graphics card.
Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 I have intel HD graphics (i3) built into my laptop, I do not have ATI or nvidia graphics cards..... So sadly neither of those links help me.... I have the latest drivers for it too, I downloaded them directly from Toshiba. I managed to get hold of an error report from Event viewer... Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 Have you tried using poor man mode. (before logging in use the settings button to change the options, last tab 'troubleshoot') I cant do that because I can not actually get into the game at all..... As I said, the process starts and then it closes.... I just installed the latest drivers from Toshiba, they are ATI drivers... Still same issue.... -_-
hussam Report post Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Maybe your graphics hardware doesn't support the minimal requirement of OpenGL 1.3 open your My documents folder. Inside it should be "eternal lands". This is your locally stored profile data (logs, counters, etc..). Inside the "eternal lands" folder is a logs folder. look for a file called main_(SomeRandomLetters).log inside the logs folder. Paste the contents here please. I also wonder why you are crashing at a ATI library when you are using intel graphics. Edited December 22, 2012 by hussam

Guest Potian Dragoon Report post Posted December 22, 2012 Issue resolved I removed all my drivers and then re installed drivers that I knew contained the latest version of openGL and it worked like a charm! Thanks every one for trying to assist me!
Maxine Report post Posted December 23, 2012 gratz, to see your open gl info (plus what graphics processor it uses and a lot of spam) use #glinfo while ingame Scroll up (F1 for console and then page up) to see the relevant info.
