EL Crashes on Vista(1.5.0)

Recommended Posts

Recently my family moved in with my Grandmother, and she has an almost new Vista that I've been trying

to get EL to work on. It crashes on log-in every single time.

System Specs:

Windows Vista Premium(Is that what it's called?)

Intel Pentium D 3 GHz

1 GB of DDR2 Ram

160 GB HD Space

SiS mirage 3 Graphics - Is this the problem? Apparently a really cheap integrated card...

So far I've tried: Updating the Drivers, Making sure the Data path was correct, changing to poor man and etc, making sure to run in Admin. mode(What a pain...), running in "XP SP2" and Vista modes(Someone suggested that, not sure if it'd help or not), etc etc etc.

Thanks in advance for any help! :D

P.s. I looked through and tried all the previous helps I could find, but none of them worked.

Did you download the patch?

Yep... Downloaded the patch AND have Poor Man on.

Anyway, the SiS cards have really bad drivers...

I figured so. :)

Pardon me for taking so long.

Cloud shadows are disabled, and along with every other quality option, and it's the newest drives, but still it crashes.

Ah yes, and Vista had problems with the newest drivers and now everything on the computer looks like a compressed Jpeg.

I hate Vista. :omg:

I've actually not tried that yet, because I figured that if it couldn't handle the Official client, it wouldn't do too great with the Vertex programs and unfixed bugs. I'll give that a shot later today. ;)
