LIGHTspeed Report post Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Recently my family moved in with my Grandmother, and she has an almost new Vista that I've been trying to get EL to work on. It crashes on log-in every single time. System Specs: Windows Vista Premium(Is that what it's called?) Intel Pentium D 3 GHz 1 GB of DDR2 Ram 160 GB HD Space SiS mirage 3 Graphics - Is this the problem? Apparently a really cheap integrated card... So far I've tried: Updating the Drivers, Making sure the Data path was correct, changing to poor man and etc, making sure to run in Admin. mode(What a pain...), running in "XP SP2" and Vista modes(Someone suggested that, not sure if it'd help or not), etc etc etc. Thanks in advance for any help! P.s. I looked through and tried all the previous helps I could find, but none of them worked. Edited February 21, 2008 by LIGHTspeed
Entropy Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Did you download the patch? Anyway, the SiS cards have really bad drivers, try to enable "poor man".
LIGHTspeed Report post Posted February 22, 2008 Did you download the patch? Yep... Downloaded the patch AND have Poor Man on. Anyway, the SiS cards have really bad drivers... I figured so.
Entropy Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Well, it's good to have at least someone with a SiS card.. Anyway, make sure the clouds shadows are disabled, many SiS cards are not happy about them.
LIGHTspeed Report post Posted February 25, 2008 (edited) Pardon me for taking so long. Cloud shadows are disabled, and along with every other quality option, and it's the newest drives, but still it crashes. Ah yes, and Vista had problems with the newest drivers and now everything on the computer looks like a compressed Jpeg. I hate Vista. Entropy Report post Posted February 28, 2008 How about the latest pre rc?
LIGHTspeed Report post Posted February 28, 2008 I've actually not tried that yet, because I figured that if it couldn't handle the Official client, it wouldn't do too great with the Vertex programs and unfixed bugs. I'll give that a shot later today.
