Crash upon login

I'm posting here for Curia, my sister, who just got a brand new Vista Premium Dell Laptop with Dual AMD Turion 64 Processors and about 2gig ram. She starts the game, everything is going ok, the server loads fine, she selects English language, and logs in. The game loads all 3d objects, 2d objects, etc, the loadbar completely fills up and then just when the game should kick in, it crashes.

 

When looking through the el.ini I noticed it was on port 2001--I thought EL was supposed to be 2000, so I changed it, it still connects to the server fine but the same problem still occurs.

I see here issues with sounds not loading, but sounds are set to "0" in the .ini. In addition, I saw that certain files, like the spells data file, didn't load, but I assume thats because it doesn't yet exist on this computer, and that would not not be a critical error causing game failure. However, the last bit with all the "unable to add command" things, I do not understand. Perhaps this is the problem? Strangely, these command issues do not show up in any of the other attempts we made to run the game, just the most recent. (Don't think it has anything to do with changing the port to 2000 but that's the only thing I've changed on the most recent run...)

 

Any thoughts?

Tried the patch. No luck, the same issue occurred, identical to what happened before

 

Any thoughts? Are there any minimum specs or something that Curia is missing? I would doubt it since this is a brand new computer with up to date hardware...but can't think of any other possibilities...
