no eye candy on linux download

i am playing with the linux client and i have all of the eye candy options clicked but none of them are working any help?

Same thing for me All the eye candy was working before on the client compiled from cvs....

Hi just a quick fyi to linux users. My err_log was full of

 

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/flare2.png'.

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/flare3.png'.

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/void1.png'.

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/void2.png'.

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/void3.png'.

[21:00:39] ERROR: Cannot load texture './textures/eye_candy/32x32/twinflare1.png'.

 

To fix this is did a

sudo apt-get install libpng12 libpng12-0 libpng12-dev libpng3 libpng3-dev

thx neo it worked but i had to get some files like libpng12 and libpng3

 

sudo apt-get install libpng12

sudo apt-get install libpng12-0

sudo apt-get install libpng12-dev

sudo apt-get install libpng3

sudo apt-get install libpng3-dev

 

do these one by one in your terminal and you should be fine if you are missing libpng12

yea well. I had all of those libraries (you need them to compile the cvs anyway) and still eyecandy wasnt working...

 

Thank god the cvs client has had its version number incremented, so I can compile that and get a eye-candy enabled client.

 

I can only assume the binary on the forum page uses different libs to what my system has.
