Guest Horatius Report post Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) I have been having problems with EL crashing as soon as I log in as a character. Running from the terminal (Kubuntu Dapper) I get the following error: /usr/local/games/el/el-130.x86.linux.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/games/ el/el-130.x86.linux.bin: undefined symbol: alutLoadWAVFile When I log in as a different character the game runs fine. I logged in as a backup character and turned off the sound, which seems to have fixed the problem. The only other common factor I can see is that the character that caused the crash was consistently on the VotD map. Looks like I can play without sound, but I figured someone smarter than I might want to take a look at this. Edited August 23, 2006 by Derin
JohnTheWarder Report post Posted August 8, 2006 Well I think the same thing happened to me too. See if anything in this thread helps: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=26574
freeone3000 Report post Posted August 9, 2006 EL links against some odd version of Alut that I can't find niehter the headers nor the binary for on debian. Playing without sound is the only fix I know, unless someone can point to the direct libraries linked against to build.
