rebootedrock Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Why not? If there is a private port where only certain people can join and cannot make a new account (paid for privacy accounts ^_^) then it should do just as well. What Do you guys think? Entropy,Roja I would like to know what you think of this
Entropy Report post Posted January 18, 2005 And what would be the difference between a private server and a private port?
rebootedrock Report post Posted January 18, 2005 a private port would have more ties to el than another server, and it would be under more control than a whole new server.

Makes sense to me, especially if we are staying with the plan to have freeplay and p2p sharing the current continent and not splitting friendships and the community based on the ability to pay a monthly fee. Access to the p2p areas/items can be filtered by a port-checking protocol, as well as IP verification. Of course if/when the community starts to overload the server, then there will be money to split to two servers.
