    Yes if we keep the rarity a secret the price changes will be slower coming and going but they will come and go nonetheless. I would like to point out that for long range plans the sudden scarcity of EFEs sucks for players who cannot afford to buy them in the EL shop. I don't have time to sit making 100K FEs to make sure I have a happy stockpile of EFE's in storage and I cannot afford to buy them every time I see them. That is all in response to things posted previously. What really matters is that you will not stop people from hoarding EFEs by not announcing changes in rarity. If they don't know when there next EFE is coming it is just like not knowing when your next meal is coming. You use what you have to and save what you can. The hoarders are just gross caricatures of this behavior. They are going to wait for better prices whether you tell them about them or not. When they find the price they want they will sell and until then they will wait. Price spikes may tempt them to sell but as long as the changes in rarity are far enough apart the effects of this will be just as if they waited for the price to climb naturally. The problem cannot be fixed topically. No problem can every be fixed topically except for problems that are as minor as the scrapes that only need band aids. This is a deep rooted problem and band aids are not going to fix it. It needs to be fixed at the source. Either change the way we get rare items or give full disclosure on quantity and rarity so that we can see when the price is going up too high.     Keeping the rate changes secret whether you announce them or not will make the hoarders err on the side of caution and just stock up more. It will make the problem worse instead of better. The idea of making them guaranteed items per 10K instead of random would flatten out the price completely IMO because then everyone would know just how much work at most it would take to get one. Rares being completely random is what causes the hoarding. Change the source of the problem and the problem is cured instead of 'fixed'. This is just like medicine. Entropy you are treating a symptom instead of the disease. People can go 30K FEs without getting an EFE. It works the same for all of the rare stuff. You cannot count on luck so people hoard stuff for later use just incase demand is increased. The people who hoard stuff for selling later are the equivalent to scammers in my book. They are only feeding on the system that is providing them the opportunity in the first place though. Knowledge is power. Ignorance may be bliss but it is deadly. Not knowing where your next rare item is coming from creates the fear that the hoarders feed on. If you remove that fear then you remove their ability to prey on that fear. I voted yes because more ignorance is not going to help anyone. In the real world quantities are known and production is speculated on or in some cases fixed and prices only fluctuate accord to unexpected changes in production.     That is a very good point. If we don't get the rarity of an item the total amount in game of that item instead would be an acceptable substitute. Having both could work even better as we would understand the whole picture and be able to control pricing. It would give us the power to ignore the rare item hoarders and get a reasonable price since we would know that something might be hard to find even when there is a lot of it in game. Then we could tell someone who wants to raise the price that just because one person is not selling does not mean we are willing to pay unreasonable prices.     The problem is that people hoard because they are afraid of future changes in rarity and because items are scarce in circulation because of it. When no one knows where there next EFE is coming from they hoard even more. The announcements for changes in scarcity motivate people to start using the EFEs they have and then try to get as many more as they can as well when higher and try to get more while using less when they become more rare. There is just a certain level of rare items each person is comfortable having before they start using new ones. Some of the players make uber amounts of gear that uses EFEs. There are no ways to account for those EFEs as part of the general community's EFEs. Increasing the rarity of them makes some of the hoarders use the ones they have but then they just try harder to get more to replace the ones they are using. Telling everyone that you are not going to announce changes in rarity just means everyone is going to act like everything is more rare no matter how many appear in market. This means a permanent recession. Let's keep the announcements but give advanced warnings. If the price stays too high too long then double the price on the EL shop again. If the players who are hoarding the EFEs make that happen they will become very unpopular. Everyone will say you cannot force people to play a certain way because of the NMT experiment. I think rare items are different because it effects the whole community. If everyone knows rare items are not going to get more rare again as long as they keep moving into market or out of the game then we should see a response. Knowing when items are going to be more rare or less rare also is a great help to character development because it allows for better planning of character leveling.     I could not have put it better myself. This is the solution that serves everyone and makes the most sense. It is also the easiest to implement so why not do it? The poll leans this way and I think the old style PK would work better IMO on a map with enough exits to keep them from being camped 100% of the time.     1) So you are saying that forbidding trading legally acquired items makes sense to you (and to everybody else, yes that's how "sense" is spelled, please remember that.), please enlighten me. 2) I could restate what I said above because my story is not bogus, the only difference to "legal alts" is the intent, the maps and the occupations aren't even that inconvenient (some are even very good to best) for what I proposed and some of the alts I could use for regular harvesting alts. Another question: If for some reason I wouldn't need my legal alts and just logged on to them for antisocial issues over the course of a few weeks, would they then turn into illegal alts? How many weeks before I'd have to "renew" their legality by harvesting on them (and for how long?) And let me just repeat: So, I can't choose where to harvest with my alts if they also help me around antisocial? And I can't choose where to log off? 1) I did not say anything that even hinted at the forbidding of trading legally acquired items makes sense. I have no idea at all why Entropy said that would be a rule to begin with and if it does make sense then someone needs to explain it to me. The only thing I can come up with is that he wants scammers to be able to scam but he wants everyone to know who they are. It was not my business since it was not part of the poll so I just let Entropy have his plan whatever it is. If you want to him to explain his motives then ask him. 2) If your alts are at the best places to harvest stuff and being used for harvesting then they are legal alts if they get used for that purpose. How much harvesting determines legal alt status for avoiding being accused of dodging the antisocial perk could be based on total experience of the alts or total time logged in. I don't know how they catch the current multiplayers so I have no idea how they would catch the people abusing the legal multiplay system. It seems to me that the people who suggested the idea might have had an idea about how to do this since they did bring up the whole idea. Personally I don't see why we would be the ones who would come up with the way to catch people breaking the rules. What you are asking is for us to define the actual rule which will be the definition of legal multiplay. Why should we have to provide all of the answers in this thread. The ones suggesting this are Entropy and certain mods. I think we need to let them see whether we support the idea which we it seems we do and the let them figure out how to implement it or ask for our advice on how to implement it in another thread. Alts will through direct transfer of gold coin or goods be in someway skirting the antisocial perk so as long as the alts are legal and not just campers it seems skirting antisocial ins someways will be legal.     you are the one that said those that voted no are selfish, I said those who voted no just because they don't want their leveling to be more expensive or slower without consideration for the problem that not breaking will cause are selfish. It is his game and he has a good view on how to make it better. Imagine that. you are the one that cant stop posting your same thoughts over and over, I am posting the stuff that people ignore because they do not want to face the whole issue since the whole issue goes against the way they want to vote. you are the one that said everyone who post here should be voting yes, Everyone should be voting yes because the capes need to get out of the game. The ideas for getting the cloaks out of the game can work but one or the other has to happen. there was no need to say these things everyone has a right to vote or not same as everyone has a right to post their opinion or not.. If they do choose to vote and post however then they have to understand that their motives are going to be questioned because big changes to the game effect its future.     1) The question is for Entropy and I would guess he has a plan. 2) Your story is totally bogus and painfully transparent. Your alts can get all of the stuff that you say they are getting a lot closer to storage and that makes it a whole more profitable. You are for 'some reason' choosing to reduce your income with your alts. Could it be you have an ulterior motive? The only way you can camp at NPCs and use your alts to dodge antisocial is by being obvious because they would do you more good in other places if you were actually using them for something besides dodging antisocial.     I don't have to explain Entropy's rule for why alt's cannot trade scammed items. If you want to know why he wants to have that rule then forum PM him and see if he responds. As to how much work has to be done with an alt before it is just a way around the antisocial perk that is something I can work on. If you have antisocial and 5-7 alts and they all just happen to log in close to an NPC then the odds are pretty good you are breaking the rules don't you think? It is just coincidence that your alts happen to harvest flowers in bad places for them and on maps it is hard to get for what reason? It should be painfully obvious that someone is cheating if they are using alts to camp NPCs. It is not hard to find the best spots for most flowers in game because they are not secrets. The fact that there are a very limited number of storages with NPCs close to them including the quest NPCs should make it very easy to detect campers. If someone is just logging on and off long enough to make trades even if they were harvesting during the short waits it would still be obvious what was happening. Since you are starting with only looking at players with antisocial and several alts I just don't see how this would be harder than checking all same IP trades.     I have been accused of being a cheerleader once in this thread already LOOTER. If you think I am trying to score brownie points with Entropy then you are an idiot. I am the one of the first ones to start supporting Conavar's idea once he cleared up wanting all of the stuff he said done. I also posted and stated directly that the ideas for getting them out of the game would solve the problem without making them breakable. I stated that the poll was too limited because of this. So how much money are you paying out? In case you missed it Entropy is the one who suggested they be breakable. He said there is a problem. Why would he go through all of the effort you are saying it takes to go through all of the posts in a poll he made if he did not really think there was a problem? Are you saying Entropy just kills time making up polls that he is going to have to read through just to kill time? I faced off against Entropy on changing the restoration spell and it was something he REALLY wanted to happen. I helped make sure that it didn't. You can believe what you want but it is obvious to anyone with a brain that all of my posts are well thought out and well reasoned and do not have any kind of cheer leading or brown nosing involved. We are discussing making the cloaks breakable because Entropy says they need to go out of the game and he is right. There have been several alternatives offered here which most people I think see as good options instead of making them breakable. I support those alternatives because it is good for the game. I support making the cloaks breakable if those alternatives do not work. The game comes first.     Um... no. The arti cape has no perk to get instead of the cloak and requires a 10 human nexus to wear. It is therefore nothing like any other cloak in the game. There is no reason to make it breakable due to the requirements needed to wear it. Not everyone in game is going to get 10 human nexus so that they can wear it. Artificer capes are more rare than NMT, not replaceable with a perk and require 10 human nexus there is no danger of them flooding the market the way NMT will.     NPC camping to avoid antisocial. If your IP login record shows you have a alt that logs in close to every NPC that can buy things that bring a player profit and sell things that characters need as well or even a majority of the locations and you have antisocial isn't that kind of obvious? It would require a small army of alts logging in to a lot of different locations to actually make the effects of antisocial negligible. The number of alts alone along with the perk is a perfect flag for finding people who are breaking that rule. I figure that Entropy had an idea for how to avoid letting people sell scammed items but even so I can tell you that since every trade is logged then following a scam should not be hard either. The mods would not be the ones checking every trade. There would have to be a complaint of a scam and then the mods could check the specific trades in questions to see if the scammed item was traded to an alt. How hard is that? It is a whole lot easier to monitor log in spots and numbers of alts and investigate reported scams to see if they were traded to alts than it is to try to catch multiplayers and it has been pointed out that using RL money can be used for undetectable or at least unprovable multiplay anyway. People obviously work hard to get around the rule. If the rule was not there then everyone could benefit from multiplay instead of just the people with the money or the determination to work around the rules. Trying to track all of the storages and items needed to catch a multiplayer seems like a much bigger task to me. Entropy and company are always coming up with new ways to catch macroers and other rule breakers and I have ever confidence that they can find ways to make it easy to catch rule breakers for relaxed multiplay too. It would be a lot easier to do just because there would be so few players who would be doing it. IMO there just aren't that many people in game who will go to the extreme of using an army of alts.     The poll is limited and the choice given is very unpopular for a lot of people. If it is a choice between nothing happening and the NMT becoming breakable then the NMT must be breakable. If some of the very good ideas provided to remove NMT from the game are instituted then they could remain unbreakable because they would still leave the game. Voting for it to not be breakable so you can level faster without suggesting a way to get them out of the game hurts the game. Simple logic dictates that something must be done. The status quo cannot be maintained indefinitely. 20 left the game in the entire time they have been here and that includes them breaking when people were using them under threat of them remaining unbreakable permanently. Take away the ones that broke in combat and the ones that left the game can almost be counted on one hand. This is more than half a year after they were put in game. They will flood the market and lose all value eventually unless they stop dropping. This is not a maybe and it is not a possibility it is a mathematically inescapable fact. If you don't want them to break then either support the ideas given to get them out of the game or come up with your own ways to get them out of the game. Change has to be made and that is unavoidable. The poll does not give you the options you might want but that is why their is a thread attached to the poll so that you can voice your opinion. Voting to break them or voicing your idea or supporting someone else's idea to remove them from the game are the only three ways you can show that you care about EL and its future.     A simple majority of the players of EL either support multiplay or are not against it. Add the votes from the I don't care to the yes vote and you get a simple majority. You can say the same about the no votes except their simple majority will be by a smaller amount. I would also like to point out that the people who already got banned for multiplay would make the vote for yes insurmountable even adding the I Don't Care to the No vote. Clearly then the yes vote won. Will we get an answer to this topic? I would just like this loose string tied up so it can be properly put away. Everyone who is talking are the people who count because those who remain silent are agreeing with what is being said by the absence of their voice. Silence is consent.     I would say that even though the votes are against breaking everyone is now talking about how to get the NMT out of the game. If the solutions provided will not work then the obvious choice is to make them breakable. No matter how you look at it removing them from the game is now the choice and that is the way the poll should be read even with the votes being against breaking.     You cannot buy hydro or hydro bars from the shop so they have to be made. Entropy will have to believe that getting a NMT is just as hard as making 50 hydro bars in order to make that change. I am not sure about how that is viewed by Entropy or anyone else because the drop rates have changed. I do know that making 50 hydro bars takes a very large amount of work. That would be Entropy's decision of course. That would be a way to get them out of the game. If Entropy left them at current drop rates and you add this idea to them being branched then maybe it would level out there numbers in game. The price would go up dramatically but I don't hear anyone complaining about it costing too much. lol As new players enter the game and buying free pick points becomes more common this might work except that no one can afford it. I would suggest that this idea combine with multiplay to add more gold coin to the economy would make a possibly workable idea. I don't think this idea alone will work because the price of NMT will go past the cost of the hydro bars rapidly if they get used for this and then no one will do it.     The reason it cannot remain unbreakable is because you cannot get rid of enough of them to account for how fast they come into game without making them so rare almost no one has one. They will be used as a god quest item and they can be branched. Very few of them ever get branched and what are you going to have to give people from a god in trade for that cloak. What are you going to give people for that cloak to take it out of the game other than uber amounts of gold coin? NPCs never buy stuff for amounts that are reasonable. Asking for an NPC that will buy them is just crazy. Using them for nexus like they were 50 hydro bars is a very bad idea too. It wipes out a huge amount of the cost for getting a pick point through the nexus/removal stone process. If you actually come up with even the beginning of an idea that could remove them from the game without breaking I would love to hear it. Why is it that you have to have your cake and eat it too? You have to be able to get uber fast experience and pay almost nothing for it? Why not make leveling uber fast expensive or hard to figure out. We need a challenge don't we? By the way, if you see the multiplay thread that Entropy also started your answer to having to harvest for money and fight would be answered as well. Assuming that the cloaks would not be cheap enough and common enough to keep fighting at the same pace you do now while replacing the NMT cloak then the multiplay would fix that problem. If the cloaks were common enough and cheap enough to not making training too expensive then the problem is solved as well. Once again I fail to see how anyone can fail to see that having them unbreakable is going to not have everyone not only having one but their price being next to nothing.     Ok I can see your point about level dependant items ( just an idea to be agreed with or pulled apart) one point i think you did miss though is that all these suggestions would be implemented together remove perk AND stop NMT being dropped AND implement new cape.AND have it makable and dropped by chims ( my post proberly was clear on that point) I did miss that point Conavar. Thank you for clearing it up. I think your idea as you meant it is a very good one minus the level dependent part. Do we give the people who have the old NMT cloak 2 of the new ones and call it even or even 5 of them? Trading the new ones for the one old would get the old ones out of the game to prevent anyone from complaining the people with the old cloak people have an unfair advantage. Let the price for the new cloak get multiplied until it reaches 400K and there you have how many of the new cloaks the people with the old cloaks would get to replace the old ones that are taken out. That is an idea that would work if everyone agreed on it.     nah, i never said i know better than entropy, and to ur question if entropy knows everything... no he doesnt know everything. he knows all statistics, he knows things we all dont know, he knows what is dropped, and when yes. but since he doesnt ACTIVELY play his own game, he cant know Everything. this is not meant as an insult tho. I never said Entropy knows everything and you seem to think you know a lot more than you do. Entropy started playing the game again with a new alt because of how many changes had been made. Entropy does keep in touch with the game playing and with statistics because he really cares about that game and not just the statistics. that you always vote for everything ent does is cheerleading. if you never vote against anything he wants to do means for me that you dont have your own oppinion and that your cheerleading. ent wont be mad at you if u vote against something he wants to do If you paid more attention, as I already said, to the rest of the forum you would know that I am not just an Entropy cheerleader. Entropy wanted to change the restoration spell and I was one of the people who led the votes against changing it. Guess what. It did not get changed. Entropy asked about taking charm completely out of the game and I was very much against that. A great many people came up with a lot of options and we got charm implemented instead of taken out. no im not the reason why the price went up, but the broders are, and believe me im not the only 1 who brods lol there are sooo many ppl who brod.. and few nmts broke cause of brod for sure and yes, this makes the price go up too, + the decreased drop rate which is the main thing why the price raised. The broders did help increase the price a tiny bit but the decreased drop rate was almost entirely responsible for the increase of the price. There were way too few branched NMTs to drive up the price more than about 20K each. all i ask u is to not call people selfish because they have their own oppinion. i personally dont care if its breakable, but i prefer if its not. it came into the game unbreakable, and thats how it should stay. I don't call people selfish because they have their own opinion. I call people selfish because they choose to avoid good arguments against their ideas just to get their way. Asgnny's post, my posts and the other posts about any item being unbreakable because of what the math says have been completely ignored by people who don't want them breakable. Our other arguments have been challenged but not the one that cannot be argued against. If people had the guts to actually face up to the arguments against them and take responsibility for their votes by taking responsibility for their motives then I would never call them immature. I do care if it is breakable or not because I care about the game and having an unbreakable object in the game over the long term is not possible. The number branched compared to the number dropped will never match up unless Entropy reduces the drop rate so much that they become worth 1 million gold each at the very least. I seriously doubt that reducing drops to where branching can keep up with the number of NMT coming into the game is going to make the people who do not want it breakable happy. Fully agree with Tempest here. First off, TC your not looking at other options as in getting the nmt out of game, all your concerned about is making it breakable. You dont try to even think of the other many possible ways it can stay unbreakable and nmts exit the game at the same time. And with the way you write your posts, maybe you should be looking in the mirror on the seflish part, cause seems to me, that all you buddy. There are many options on how to implement a way to keep nmts unbreakable and let the exit at the same time. TC just isnt wanting to exam those ways. Also TC, I am entitled to my own opinion, pls dont tell me to shut up and quit whining kk? ty ty I was looking at every option and even agreed with the post about adding a new cape that does the same but is breakable and leaving the old ones in on the condition that no more came into the game. Yes I do listen to options if they are viable. Yes I lost my cool. Mature adults do that sometimes in case you missed the memo. I lost my cool because almost every post by people who voted no was about how they wanted to level and not about how it will effect the game as a whole. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Everyone is also entitled to step up and take responsibility for what their sharing their opinion does and for the reasons behind their opinions. If more people would just step up and say they are complaining because they care more about getting to level the way they want and don't care about the game as a whole then I would not have a problem. If people would stop saying they have to see the future before Entropy can try to make changes because they don't want to take a chance at something bad happening then I would not have a problem. If everyone would put the good of the game ahead of the good of their character then I would not have a problem.

Tempest I have already looked in the mirror. I see someone who does not complain every time Entropy has an idea. I see someone who does not automatically assume I know more about how the game works than the developers and the owners. If the NMT being unbreakable was NOT a problem as YOU suggest then why is it ENTROPY is suggesting a change? You know so much and Entropy knows so little? Is that the case Tempest? The last time I checked Entropy knows more about the game than anyone else and I figure it will probably stay that way. Most of the people were already voting against which is the problem so anyone voting against breaking because of me is not going to make a difference. I have supported Entropy with almost every change he has suggested and I don't post against anything just for my personal best interest like so many others do. The reason the price is going up is because they became more rare due to less drops and more players wanting them. Tempest if you think YOU are the reason the price went up why don't you ask Entropy how many have gone out by BroD? Trying reading more threads on the forum before you start talking about shit you don't know anything about. If you read more of my posts you would know that I don't call everyone who disagrees with me immature.
