  1. I recompiled the client and got the same problems of Aislinn. All pitch black. The log can be found here, and i posted my system's specs earlier in this thread.

PS.: my main char was in idaloran, and the map simply took forever to load, and i grued. My alt logged in normally in nordcarn, but all pitch black.

  2. No relevant info in error log, just some old stuff from before the client update. I will post bellow a screenie of the char in portals room, the old client worked perfectly ofc.

Edit:Little said there was some new kind of log for this new client. I found it, and its almost 1k lines, so i uploaded to Tinypaste. The contents of the log can be found here.vzuhjk.png

  3. I can't complain, because I was in almost all invances so far, but i can understand the frustration of other people.

Likewise, i can understand the outrage of the mods... its similar of someone spitting in your face then asking "come help me, do this command plz". I saw Aislinn building teams herself for 40-60 and 80-100 invances even, this is a clear sign of good will at least.

Invances are an extremely popular feature of this game atm, and i guess most players would want some kind of automation instead of the constant flame wars.

  4. Ok, i build the client from source, following korrode's step list.

Run in the exact same problems of Nidan and Little tho. Pitch black screen, maps taking ages to load, low fps. I guess its gfx card related.

    This is the video card:

    Video card: GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a/PCI/SSE2
    Vendor ID: NVIDIA Corporation
    OpenGL Version: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 275.09.07

    And other system specs:

    AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor
    2GB of RAM
Gentoo Linux 64 bits up to date

  5. 64bit / x86_64:

    http://www.paradoxcomputers.com.au/el-opengl2/el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin

Should work perfectly on reasonably up-to-date Arch Linux systems, should in theory work fine on other distros so long as you have all the libraries. (On distros that're both highly upstream compliant and cutting edge software/libraries version wise, like Gentoo, i'd wager they'll work just fine.)

Tried to use in up to date amd64 gentoo install and got:
    ./el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin
    ./el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.3/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin)
    ./el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by ./el-opengl2.x86_64.linux.dynamic.optimised.korrode.1.bin)

Edit: the glibc installed is 2.13-r4

  6. Tried normally and it segfaulted, used gdb and got this:

    rlh@localhost ~/jogos/el_linux $ gdb ./el_opengl2_x86.bin

  7. Since the begging of invances I was able to join only one 100-120 and 3 (or 4) 120+. I guess it is because of my time zone (yes I know that some people couldn’t join at all).
One of the issues mentioned was that people were not going to their appropriate levels, but instead going to 120+ because the rewards are higher. And about your "time zone" you must be kidding, right?
Do you understand now why I will miss ability to access 120+?
Its not like you are set in stone, and can't level. Why don't you train a bit? 110's a/d are a piece of cake to level with the feros cave and def god.
I will also stop this discussion if you please. All above were my personal opinions and the only person that showing any aggression was Albert, with his “special” BS.
Alberich was right. I would like to join lower level invances to get easy ranging exp, even WITHOUT bonus a/d exp, but i can't. Don't try to make it personal, it was a good point, and you didn't rebut.

  8. I will repost the same thing i said on channel 6. People on 120-140's a/d can do fine in pr0 instas as long as they aren't asked to tank, and at least one pr0 tanker (heck, lulu, boo, dre, vio, amar, boe, etc) is needed, and at least one decent ranger (lvl 45 ran, full AP + both perks) is required.

We did come in 5-6 (with 3-4 or so in the 120/130 range) multiple times in our guild instas, and we rarely had any problems finishing it, though sometimes the drops could barely repay the costs of scales/tokens for the heavy instancers.

If you are on 130's, you can be fully a member of a pr0 instance. We did finish one yesterday with me (still with low OA), lulu, heck and starlite (who is on 130's), with the worst possible combination (giant, 65 nasp, icy), and we finished with resources enough to fight 1-2 more bulas.

The 130's can do fine on pr0 instances, specially if they are good rangers. The problem is that they just aren't invited for the insta farmers.

  9. The cost of amber is of little relevance to this discussion. The fact is there are few people with 100+ manu or craft, the books cost a lot of APs, which is a limited resource by its own nature and takes a lot of time to replenish.

This suggests few books will get written, and most likely, this will limit the bottom price, thats all i said!

It has nothing to do with ambers or "cost per AP", people who write books now would not harvest ambers anymore. Also, probably there will be other uses for AP too. Its not the AP alone, but the high skill required + AP factor.

  10. Then everything in this game is free, it just takes a bit of time and patience. There is few people with 100+ in manu or craft, 0 people with 100+ tai, they have a limited amount of AP, then the prices could be also limited by that (and the cost of ingreds).

  11. I think there is a limit (like one invance per day), thats why people don't ask you outside prime time.

Btw, yesterday we asked and assembled a small team (it was really hard to find person to tank MB/ID, we had to call Lelugo in real life, and he ended up tanking all MB/ID) in a very short time, outside "prime time" and we managed to finish it.

It was really really hard, and a lot of fun, since the NDD's in the old days i had not that much fun in EL.
