    Had a lot of fun horse racing on the server yesterday, i am very impressed and this is one of the best updates i have seen in EL. All i hope is that the whistles will be fairly low in price so that they become used in game for traveling by most people. I hope its not going to be the type of thing only the odd pr0 can afford, would be a waste of all that work just for the odd show off (like me):confused:

    Word of mouth is probably the best way, its how i started to play and also i have brought quiet a few people here in the same way. Some of the people i introduced left before getting into the game, i asked what it is they didnt like, new players get frustrated because its so hard to hit those rabbits and beaver ect, another guy was stuck in hell for hours and quit, luckily i sorted out his maps and he now loves the game. My point is that alot of people who start to play quit in the 1st few days or even hours, IP needs to be less frustrating imo, for example if its possible make it so they can target rabbits ect a bit easier and give them a map to c1 hell from the start, also the chat system is complicated to a new player and for this reason i dont think its good to start new players on #jc 1 i know it seems sensible as it is the help channel but new players would soon find this if they want it and all the spam adds to their confusion.

     

    make the game easier to get started, more people will stay, after all if someone tries the game and does not like it i doubt they will ever be back, those that get past the newbie stage stay for years, help them like it and soon numbers will grow.

     

    edit: as a guild with some quiet pr0 members we decided to lower our requirements for joining the guild to the minimum, as a result we recruited 4 new members that where very fresh to the game, these newbies have settled in well with the help of our guild, if more pr0 guilds took the same risk alot of newbies would settle in more and stay in the game. most pr0 guilds i know are very anti-newb.... this is a bad thing.

    There is people who do not know that the lottery is there, ermabweds col thread is proof of that, i think its a great idea to have it in VOTD as all new players will get curious at one point or another and will find out for themselves. its also very convienent for me because im a lazy bum too :D seriously i would probably buy every week as i often pay VOTD a visit but because i mainly play on c2 its too much trouble for me and a waste of time, even if i am in VOTD or C1 its usualy for a reason and im in a rush to get back to C2. assuming alot more poeple feel like i do i believe he would be used ALOT! more.
