  2. [patch] Quickspell hover highlights

It would only need to scan the inventory when inventory contents are changed... if it only scanned it then that might reduce the overheads.
  3. OS X client specific bugs and To Do

In relation to the current release (1.2.0 p1), I haven't found any unexpected bugs. I did accidently click on some of the text caused by the "text bleed issue" and promptly disconnected from the server, but this is my own fault for not being able to use a mouse Apart from that this is the most stable and most reliable release of the Mac cleint so far. I'll be sure to post if I discover any bugs
  4. Macintosh OS X port interest?

I figured it would either be dead easy or really hard... as it's most likely on the harder side of things to do then I agree, leave it til last and get everything else going Thanks for the info to someone who isn't any good with the real programming (I know PHP, but that isn't real programming
  5. Macintosh OS X port interest?

Is there any chance the map editor will be ported for the Mac anytime soon?
  6. Macintosh OS X port interest?

My brother does good work, and I like those exp bars. The goal has been to make a working "official" Mac client. If his code makes it into CVS, then it will definitely be in the client. Before playing with patches, I need to address other issues. If Entropy gives the okay on the patch (even if it does not get into CVS) then I will consider adding it to the OS X client. I was thinking if it were added to the CVS for the Mac only it might cause a few more people to go and buy a Mac heheheheheh
  7. Macintosh OS X port interest?

Just a side thing, those patches by Drakos7 look pretty cool, any chance of getting them added to the Mac version?
  8. OS X client specific bugs and To Do

I'm not experiencing anything like this. It all seems to work as per the windows version for me. What specs are your Mac?
  9. What Irks you

another traffic related one..... people who don't move the extra metre forward to allow you to go dowwn the slip lane and turn
  10. How do you keep a blonde busy?

How many times do I have to click on it? (and i'm not blond)
  11. Macintosh OS X port interest?

Just a minor suggestion... It'd be good if we had some sort of forum for the beta testers to document bugs. Perhaps someone could set-up a phpbb site or something for this, and we then have 1 post per issue with the post being marked as resolved or open, depending on the status of it. I've been trying to follow what bugs are documented and what bugs aren't, and I'm getting lost. Whatever happens, we need some sort of OSX Beta Bug reporting system for the beta testers. As a side not, apart from some graphics problems and a few issues with trading and communication with NPCs (which I seem to be able to work around anyway), the OSX port looks to be coming along nicely. To the people who are waiting for this OSX port to be released, can I suggest you offer to beta test it. Beta testing means that you get an early version of the game, agree to update it regularly with any new test versions, and that you report any bugs you find. Personally I find that beta testing is rewarding in that I feel I have given something back to the community, I still get to play my favorite game, and hopefully I will improve the experience for others. Oooops, I'm waffling again.... time to stop typing
  12. Macintosh OS X port interest?

In relation to an OSX client.... I'm more than willing to help test it when it's ready. My programming experience is minimal, but I've been doing Internet stuff (running an ISP, web scripting, system admin etc) for 10 years, so I'm kinda used to beta (and a bit of alpha) testing. If you want some help with the testing side of things please let me know (and admins, when this client is ready for testing please allow my to test it on my normal login) Hope this is of some help (I just wish I had a bit of a clue about C, then I would offer to help code stuff too)
  13. Process of creaing a bot

I'm interested in creating a storebot for the guild I'm in. I have the software, which is no doubt the start of the process. What is the next step? Is there a test server I can use, or do I need to seek approval for the bot first? Any help (ideally a list of the stages) would be greatly apprciated.
  14. Bug in EL under WinXP Limited User account

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try running it from a different directory and see if that works. It'd be great if (in a future release) EL used the "Application Data" directory associated with the user, as opposed to the "Program Files" directory if this is the issue. Stay tuned for news on the outcome of my testing. -------- Just tried moving the Eternal Lands folder to a variety of places including: My "Application Data" Directory - not allowed to execute the program My "My Documents" Directory - not allowed to execute the program The root of C drive - not allowed to execute the program The "Shared Documents" Directory - same error as previously, program loads by crashes In all of these locations I was able to successfully run EL as a priveledged user. So basically I'm still no wiser as to the cause of this issue or how to get around it, short of perhaps trying a custom compile of the program
  15. I have several machines on which my Windows XP user account is set to "Limited User Account". I got the admin of these systems to install EL (XP Limited User Accounts don't have install privledges). When I load EL it crashes! Is this something to do with the way the program is written, or it is a permissions problem on some of the files? The admin has tested EL under a non-limited account and it works fine. Hope this information is of help in the creation of what is a brilliant game!
