    Hmmm... the problem seems to be only on channel. In other cases you can just go closer to person you're talking and make zoom. Unless player chose different sex for his/her character than in real life you should see difference. I generally don't see serious reason for implementing anything like that. If you made an error and call girl boy (and vice versa) you will be either corrected or the person just don't care. vanyel

  5. Perks/Skills for Guilds.

    Very true! I agree absolutely. That's great idea, but there would be problem with those guilds which already bought cape/storage bot, but I prefer that idea than buying any stats bonuses. That's also true, I know at least couple players who prefer staying guildless. We can't force them or make them victims of our pro-guild ideas. Frankly, I love being in guild, but.... well, that's only my opinion and not everybody has to share it. With regards vanyel

    The sun was far below the horizon when you and your friends were camping in the Forest of the Fall. You were about to fall asleep when a very old, odd-looking gnome came from the woods. You were completely taken by surprise, because he managed to get past the guards you have set. He didn’t look at you and went to sit by the fire. After a while of just sitting around the fire he started to talk. The story you heard was fascinating. You were told about ancient, very powerful alchemic who, according to the story, found the means to achieve immortality. The gnome told you also that the Gods felt offended and ordered the Alchemic to leave Seridia. Several years later you were walking along the Range River, when you saw a person similar to the gnome. He was walking towards the sea. You followed the person to the harbor. There he boarded a ship and you lost track of him, but the ship did not sail..... Do you want to learn how the story finish? Investigating the last place you had seen the gnome you have found a small, dark room. You went inside, looking around carefully. You saw somebody sitting in the corner. When you walked toward the figure, suddenly the room was filled with bright light and the smell of the forest. Strange force made you bow and look down. The light was so birght that you couldn’t even look at the Queen of Nature. A sweet and charming voice in your head explained to you that the Gods decided to forgive the Alchemic and let him visit Seridia for the last time. After that he will be taken into Heavens as there is no place for an immortal on Seridia. The Goddess ordered you to find him and give him the sacred Essence of Life, which will allow him to leave Earth. With the words – ‘Look under place of Magic for him’ - she disappeared and you realised you’re alone. You also realised that the Goddess put a geas on you – you knew you wouldn’t sleep until you have fulfilled your Quest. After sleepless months of wandering around Seridia you heard a story about a dark maze under magic shop in Grahm’s Village. You knew that was the place you were looking for. Using all the magic powers you had you managed to get in there, but your magic couldn’t get you through the maze – a strong power wouldn’t let you pass through the black maze. It took you long hours of walking to pass through it, but eventually you have managed to get to the end of it. While passing through a mirror floor room you spotted a ghost of an elf. The ghost couldn’t talk as his aura was too weak – your knowledge told you that he needed some ethereal force in order to survive and answer your questions. In one of your books you read the salvation for cursed soul could be the spirit and death elements and the spirit restoration potion. You had to get those components to release the Elf so you could ask him some questions. It took you almost a whole day to find the ingredients for your spell. You returned to the Elf’s ghost and cast you spell. The ghost, strengthened by your spell, brighten up for a short while and was able to answer some of your questions before disappearing . You now knew that the Alchemic has been in the mage shop long time ago, but that he has left already many year back. The Elf overheard him saying that he was going to find some underground stairs in an Old Castle. Luckily you knew where the castle was. When you reached Carmien Manor you put on your monster protection cape. You knew there was a terrible horror hiding inside the castle – a demon in the shape of an innocent. You followed the path to the catacombs and found the stairs. These brought you to an ordinary looking hut. Inside the hut you met a very old woman. She was very happy when she heard that you have released her grand-grandfather whose soul was trapped in the maze. She gave you a ring and said it was one of those the Alchemic was using. She thought it would help you with finding him. You used the powers of the ring and found yourself in Goblin Realm. From last words of the old woman you knew that the Alchemic was looking for some rare minerals. You kept looking around the surface for long hours, but couldn’t find anything other than a ladder leading into darkness. You climbed down the ladder in to an ancient catacombs and eventually found the Gnome – the one who told you the story. He explained that he was the Gods messenger. He was sent on Seridia to make one of the mortals to pay for the Alchemic sins. Your efforts made it – the Alchemic was free and his punishment was ended. There was only one thing to do before you could rest - you had to find the Alchemic. The Gnome told you that he was lost in the maze without exit in Ancient School of Magic. You felt that the end of your quest was near. You went to the School and found the Alchemic. When you told him about the Gods decision and gave him the Sacred Essence of Life he opened a portal for you and told you to meet one of his blood in the Meeting Hall. THE END And here are all clues we gave you: Queen of Nature: ’Find the Alchemic. Look for him under a place of Magic. *casts a spell* let my geas I placed on you lead you.' The clue is obvious - there are two areas under Magic Places: 1. Magic School Sewers 2. Secret Place under Magic Shop in Grahm's Village - that's the aim of our contesters After getting through the black maze (could be to range as well) they will get local message:[ Ghost Elf: 'I'm so weak now…please help me, I'm trapped here. I need death, soul elements and an ethereal mixture to be freed.' <They bring him life/death ess + spirit restoration pot/minor mana potion - doesn't matter - we accepted anything what match to ghost ask> Ghost Elf: 'I'm free, my torment is finished. Tell my family my spirit is calm.' 'Looking for the Alchemic? He was here looking for underground stairs but those are in an old castle. Be careful they are guarded by innocent-looking demon. ' (First part could be local, second could be local/pm) Everybody who was at least once in Carmien Manor has seen those stairs and the innocent-like demon is fluffy rabbit. Old woman will be in a hut in the underground. Old Woman: 'Have you seen my grandfather?' After getting answer she will trade the person and send him/her pm with: ‘Thank you for freeing my grandfather, the Alchemic was here and left this ring. He went looking for rare minerals.’ Rare mineral - emeralds - Naralik Catacombs - there is nice shrine (maybe not shrine, but kind of chapel) with god messenger (Gnome) inside who will give them the story in local (one of us will have to be there and note down who found him): Gnome: ’The gods sent me to bring the Alchemic relief' 'His sins are now forgiven and your efforts are what brought him salvation' 'Find him in the maze in Ancient School of Magic and tell him the good news' 'Your reward is awaiting you' When they find the Alchemic in Stonehenge like place in maze he will tell them: Alchemic L1: Thanks to you, I'm free now. Use the portal I opened for you. I will take a last look at Seridia and than I have to follow my destiny and leave this world behind. L2: Thank to you the gods now have a place for me in Heavens.'     Sorry to post here.     Heh, nice to see when your work is usefull. Well done Magentix. For all that haven't magic school map here is ling to one with all doors marked. I didn't mark maze - well, have fun with it, and i don't think it's really necessary.     About fighting system, there were at least couple very interesting ideas, with something what could be call quasi-static xp system. Nowadays system is ridiculous (barehanded fighting - i't's like trying to kill an elephant with petting it sometimes - if that is what you call very good system that do not require any changes then deep bow to you). Back to the ideas: each monster has base xp, but, it's modyfying with fighter a/d levels. And Kala, it's really funny, because at least storage/trading and banch other things need correction very much. What's more there're very advanced works with it. With other things you may be right, I should have read your post more carefully and at leat try to think what did you want to say. I didn't. My apologise. With regards vanyel

    You're contradicting yourself, on the one hand you're claiming that reset is ebul, because it's kind of chaeting to get more xp, on the other hand you claim that reason of reset - not good fight system - is ok? Hmmmm..... if the fight system would be corrected reset could became useless, at least for fighters. Think about it. With regards vanyel

  14. The problem is a bit wider than only rules. I can see it on newbie channel. When they got their answer they're keeping asking again and again, because they don't read messages or can't understand what they read (it has it's name - functional illeteratness or something like that). The good thing is, that accidents like above are getting rarer. The solution could be newbie island - the rules could be given to newbies there with not possibility of not reading it. regards vanyel

    It's all good and well, but fighters are the one who will feel it harder. It won't be manuers/crafters (unless you force them to read all books again). I will say it again, Im for letting be #reset as it is at the moment. It works and everybody is happy, except some people (minority). The sad think is that some of them are for changes just because of jelousy (not all of posting here - it's very good!) and frustration. regards vanyel

    People, if reset would mean loosing all skills, book knowledge what would be difference between reset and sequence like that: #killme #killme create new character with the same name ha? I will answer - no diference. In that situation I don't see any sense in keeping #reset function at all. Now imagine other situtation: you're high-level player (high=80s+) and devs just have another 'great' idea and created nexus required to cast spells, let's call it arcanum nexus - you will say wow, great idea, we always dreamt about it. And then you will think that to cast simple restoration (magic level 21) you need arcanum nexus at 3. It's not your fault, but you need about 3000000 xp to get it, and it's not easy for anybody, even with really high skills. You could say 'Ha! I will reset, it would be easier and I will lead my character differently'. Thinking about it you wrote #reset #reset and you woke up with nice and absolutely clean character. And now, do you still think reset should clean all your knowledge? Be sure that the situation above is not so impossible - EL is still being developing (and there are people with levels at 110+ - I could imagine donpedro's first tousand words after such change - just before he would stopping playig EL and starting 'R'game).     Yah, yah, it's always easy to speak about something you haven't experienced. It's really not so easy to recover your levels. I'm one month after reset and I'm only on level 54 (or 56?). And the best fun is still waiting for me. I will stay with contemporary system of reset. It's working and it's working good. You have to remember that some people are reseting not to make their p/c lower, but to get rid of some negative/positive perks they were told are awsome, but appeared to be useless/not worth pps they costed/gave. with regards vanyel

    I'm not sure why you have quoeted my post, but I agree with you. I was talking about 'abusing the signal'. And about the mods, as you know, I was involved in some afk-harvesting/mocroing troubles. I was told that mods do not ban/lock people after 10 minutes or even 15. They're checking you for about half an hour and then they are sometimes looking into your acticitied history - so if you were not online for couple minutes, then you answered pms/gms/on channel, they know you're not cheating. regards vanyel

    Read again what was written above. He wasn't talking about AFK mining (it's forbidden) he was talking about starting harvesting and doing something else on computer (vide reading forum) - and that is not AFK harvesting. Read carefully posts you are replying to. With regards vanyel

    1. Locations: I don't see anything wrong with locations of book sellers, actually, I agree with Learner here. 2. Prices: Eh! Prices are messed. As some of you probably know I'm sitting most of the time on newbie channel and it seems some of new players have just resigned of playing Eternal Lands, because of new book prices. New prices will not affect old players, most of them have read all books they needed or just can earn any amount of money when they need, but newbies are being killed with that. I don't think this side effect was planned, but it happened. I have heard also some voices of average experienced players about leaving EL! I know that the new prices are one of the means to take out some money out of market, but I don't think it was really good idea. Good idea would be discuss the new prices with community (opinion is obvious) and find a consensus - the point where the prices will not be so ridiculous. Regards vanyel
