  2. Why? harvesting is the easiest skill on the game to level and you can get xp every hour doing it why would we need a book?

Actually no its not..its quite difficult because you only get exp from the first 120 harvest every new hour.

Harvesting level takes a long, long time if you don't include quests and daily quests for harvesting exp.

Also the special day that gives 3X harvesting exp is great but it rarely comes on unless someone uses stone..

And many people would prefer mixing, fighting, quest doing than sit there harvesting....

So I support Calif's idea fully. It would be great to see a Generic Harvesting Book implanted.

    Just my 2 cents

  3. Hey..

Today I was doing the Tutorial Quest and I was asked to go to Portia in PL to make the first 2 potions that she would ask me.

I went there and talked to her and there was nothing in her conversation about starting the Potion Tutorial which I thought was odd...

I quit the game then came back on, talked to Tutorial NPC again, came back to Portia, tried other various things but nothing will make the text to start to Potion Tutorial come from her.

Only thing that can possibly suggestion some sort of bug is that she asks for 12K gc (which I also know is for another quest)

    Here is her text..

*NOTE* The highlights text bits are the options I clicked to go onto the next conversation text.

You see a pretty young draegoni woman, stirring a mixture in a

cauldron. Her skill shows in how she stirs, concentrating intently on

what she's doing, yet still fully aware of everything happening around

her. She nods politely as you approach.

    1) Hello

    2) Wait. You're draegoni?

    3) Until we meet again

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Portland Potions School. My name is Portia and I'm the

    instructor here.

    1) Wait. You're draegoni?

    2) I was about to ask...

    3) Do you like teaching?

    4) Potions school

    5) Until we meet again

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you think humans were the only race capable of making potions?

They are magical brews after all, so who better to make something

magical than a draegoni. We're highly magical beings, you know. Don't

worry. I know you weren't trying to be offensive or condescending. We

draegoni are not all that common here on Seridia and you were

    surprised.

    1) I was about to ask...

    2) Do you like teaching?

    3) Potions school

    4) Until we meet again

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a feeling you might.

    1) Do you have them often?

    2) Do you like teaching?

    3) What are you stirring?

    4) Potions school

    5) Until we meet again

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Often enough that I've learned to trust these feelings. When they

come over me, they're almost always right.

    1) Do you like teaching?

    2) What are you stirring?

    3) What do they say about me?

    4) Potions school

    5) Until we meet again

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, yes I do. I think of myself as a bow and my students as

living arrows that I am sending forth into the world and I love

watching my 'arrows' fly. But, deep inside, I just know I could do

    better.

    1) Better

    2) What are you stirring?

    3) What do they say about me?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't help feeling that I should be doing more to become a better

teacher so that I can do more for others. When I'm not here teaching

potions or making experimental potions, I'm usually in the library

reading books to improve myself, but these days, I've been so busy

with teaching, I've not had much time for research. And, truth be

told, I've pretty much exhausted the available resources in the

    Portland Library.

    1) What will you do?

    2) What are you stirring?

    3) What do they say about me?

    4) Potions school

    5) Until we meet again

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will have to branch out. I keep in touch with many of my former

students and I have friends everywhere. One way or another, I'll get

    more self-help information.

    1) What are you stirring?

    2) What do they say about me?

    3) Potions school

    4) Until we meet again

This is an experimental extract made from part of some vegetables. In

there with the extract are some aprons and when this is done, I'll

iron them. I've found that by treating the aprons this way makes it

easier to clean them after my students have been at work and this

treatment makes the aprons, after I've ironed them, stay very neat and

    wrinkle-free.

    1) Sounds like a lot of work

    2) What do they say about me?

    3) Potions school

    4) Until we meet again

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, it is less work doing it this way. I used to spend more

time cleaning aprons before. Some stains are nearly impossible to

remove. By treating the aprons this way, the stains seem to stick to

the vegetable extract instead of the fabric. And, while I do this, it

gives me time to think of possible ways I could make this process even

    better.

    1) What do they say about me?

    2) Potions school

    3) Until we meet again

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They tell me that this will not be your last visit here and my heart

tells me that the potential exists for us to become good friends.

Were you looking for the Manufacturing School? That's just north of

the west city gate. My friend Paul teaches there when he's not selling

swords from his shop. We've had long conversations about teaching

methods. I find our little talks intellectually stimulating.

    1) Paul

    2) Until we meet again

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*She chuckles.* Do you prefer Mr. Paul? His time here in Portland has

not been easy. He came here after finishing his studies with Gerund in

Mynadar to open his shop AND a school - no easy task, but he ran into

some trouble with Sloan, the money lender.

    1) What kind of trouble?

    2) Sloan

    3) Until we meet again

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He got a little behind on his payments, but when Gerund heard about

it, he stepped in. Now Paul is free and clear of Sloan now and Paul

has Gerund's backing and support for his school. I think that's what I

would try to do if I learned of a similar situation occurring with one

    of my former students.

    1) Sloan

    2) Until we meet again

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He runs the bank of Portland. His lack of a conscience is most

alarming. I'd advise you to avoid borrowing money from him if at all

possible. I've actually needed to borrow some gold, but I really can't

afford to have him breathing down my neck at all costs. Luckily, I've

had friends lend me some money, but I'm still 12k short. Wait... do

you think you could lend me the 12k? I'll make it worth your while.

    1) Ok, sure.

    2) Maybe later.

    3) Until we meet again

This is the end of the whole possible conversation that can be said.

  4. I like the NCA fast regen spot for the AP's idea.

It's the people's choice if they decide to go into the arena and sit there whilst their AP bar goes up (assuming it's 1/min). Their choice and risk to go into a PK area in a hope to fast regen + amber is on the same map as NC so it all fits well.

Also a good incentive for PK to come back at least, a tiny bit more popular than it is atm when PKers go and PK the harvesters regaining their AP points.

In all honestly I really do like this idea..especially if it's in NCA.
