  1. Instance enter scam (don_jack)

Good for you, Koddy, I'm glad (and not at all surprised) to hear that you two get along so swimmingly. But the point of this topic is that at least one person was lured and killed, losing some rather valuable items, and that attempts were made to lure others. Hence the warning. I'd also like to add that whether this (these) person(s) who was (were) lured should have known better or not is somewhat besides the point. It's easy to say that when you've played this game for a while, as many of us have. Someone could well have started playing fairly recently, and not know about the PK rooms in MM battle hall, or even how to enter an instance, nor about don_jack's/YARR's/whoever's antics. In my book, that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be warned.
  2. Instance enter scam (don_jack)

No worries, I was just making it clear I'm not into that sort of thing
  3. Instance enter scam (don_jack)

I'll see if I can get her to post the chatlog, though as far as I know, don_jack just asked her to enter a '2-man instance' with him, which red-flagged this as an attempt to scam her, and she refused. Later on, she was sitting in a storage and someone was complaining in local of having been killed and looted by don_jack after receiving a similar PM and (sadly) going along with it. I'd post the person's name, but I don't want to embarrass him/her I'm aware of the fact that 'instance enters' are a way of getting around what instances were intended to be, and it wasn't my intention to give the impression that I think they are a good idea - I just wanted to warn anyone who might be tempted by the lure of an 'easy' way to make gc. [edit: syntax]
  4. Instance enter scam (don_jack)

Just thought I'd warn people that don_jack is offering 10kgc to people for an 'instance enter', then somehow contriving to kill them and get their stuff. He tried to scam my wife, but she didn't fall for it. Unfortunately, someone else (and possibly others) did. Don't let it be you
  5. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

No problem, I wasn't in any rush, and I can imagine you have a lot of orders to deal with. I had two batches remaining, one of 10k coal, and one of 10k sulfur (which Cyberwulf has just claimed). Thanks again Olorandir.
  6. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

Hello guys, I have a question: last week I received one of the batches I ordered from Cyberwulf, but as far as I can tell my other batches have not been claimed yet. I was just wondering if perhaps they got lost in the mass of excellent work you do for other people. You can PM me or post here to let me know. Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work
  7. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

Hello, I'd like to order 2 batches of 10k coal (49kgc) and 1 batch of 10k sulfur (24,5kgc), for a total of 73,5kgc. Thanks (In-game name Olorandir)

  9. Haidir passes

Went for 'Only on Sun Tzu'. I've never actually used one yet, but the only time I would really contemplate doing so would be if I got one of the really bad xp missions on a Sun Tzu. Probably because I'm not yet at the stage where 6-7k gc is the equivalent of loose change in my pocket...
  10. Picks!

Nice idea, Rip Here goes: Iron Ore: 848,259 Coal: 563,281 Silver: 484,618 Stones: 68 Top non-pick harvestable: Sulfur

What time zone would this 'afternoon' be in?
  12. 80-100 Invance Team

Hi, I only just passed the 60/80 cap (am 81/80 now), but I would definitely be willing to make the numbers. I'll keep an eye on this
  13. mixable exp books

There are plenty of things that can be mixed for profit, just as there are skills which are difficult (or even pretty much impossible) to level without pouring a considerable amount of your own gc into them. One of your arguments seems to be: I work hard to level my skills, therefore I'm entitled to make a decent return on the gc I invest to level up. This is sheer nonsense, and in no way justifies going around trying to fix prices. Most people who like mixing/making stuff have long since accepted that some of these skills/items will constitute a net loss, and you don't hear them complaining about it, or trying to exercise some sort of control on the market (I'm sure some do, by the way, but there don't seem to be very many, or perhaps they do it in a more discreet manner). Personally, I'm quite happy to throw gc at any skill I want to raise -after all, it isn't real money we're talking about, and I don't feel (as some do, apparently) that the time I spend playing EL is intrinsically worth some sort of compensation. If I did, I'd play EL a lot less and spend a lot more time looking for customers in the real world Thing is, this is just a game, and one of the great things about it is that anyone can do whatever they want when it comes to shaping their character's set of skills. You didn't have to raise tailoring to level 70, and I really hope you are not labouring under the delusion that getting your level up there was in any way performing a service for the community, for which you ought to be recompensed in some way. As you said yourself, your objective seems to be reaching the Top Whatever for as many skills as possible. That's all well and good, but not everyone plays the game that way, and I don't see how you can expect others to finance your campaign for status/recognition/whatever it is you feel that reaching the giddy heights of EL's Top Whatever will bring you. Bottom line is: you can sell the books for whatever price you wish, and I for one would be more than happy to buy some if I feel the price is fair, but as far as I'm concerned (and I'm not the only one, it seems) any attempt to fix prices in order to squeeze as much as possible out of lesser-level players is both morally bankrupt and in complete contradiction with the spirit which most of the EL community seem inclined to foster in the game. Having said that, MichelAngelo is absolutely right, lurkers and scammers and bagjumpers are as much part of the game as anyone else, and have as much right to play it as anyone else, so long as they break none of the official rules. Ultimately, it's entirely up to you, so good luck with 'taking over soon' and amassing as many gc as you can Edit: added the last sentence to the first paragraph.
  14. Fifth Annual Raffle

Thanks for this fun and worthwhile event, I really enjoyed it And I won't deny that I'm pretty happy with my prizes too
  15. mixable exp books

I agree 100% with the sentiments expressed here. Frankly, the idea of some sort of price fixing between those players capable of writing the books is, in my opinion, repugnant and shameful . Anyone selling anything should be able to freely determine what price they ask for it. If the price is too high, nobody will want the item, but if the price is attractive enough sales will flow. Nothing personal, van_binsbergen, but if you're worried that you may not make as much gold from writing these books as you'd like, then don't make them. That's my 2gc anyway.
