  2. My home used to be the high trees of the forest, that once stretched from White Stone City all the way to the harbor and is now known as Tirnwood in the common tongue. A wood elf I be - still young by the standards of my kin - striving for perfect aim with my trusted bow to drive out evil from any Draian forest (or the fort in Iscalrith for that matter :whistle: ). May Aluwen let the wind guide my arrows to where she wants to place them :bow_arrow: !

  3. Hi Riphath, so... is that your way of compensating for frustration (just since you mentioned psychology :lipssealed: ) ? I love it !!

     

    Here's my psychology on your categories... (tried to guess first - then looked at other posts to correct potential 1%-range-problems)

    as a passionate archer I second a more "balanced" solution like

    you can enter invance once a day, you can undercap but you get exp like for your range invance.

    or

    ... AND you are not either over (e.g.) 40 ranging with 25AP, you don't get any experience

     

    I do enjoy entering invances titeled above my close combat skills, but take a quiver full of PK arrows (and even restock them) :bow_arrow:, thus complying fully with radu's initial restriction / rule about banning those that entered but did NOT help considerably in defending the fort / do their significant share of damage to the invading monsters.

     

    While I agree with Maxine that "only" getting some ranging experience for your actual hits during the invance and some gold "donations" of those fighters who do share might also be worth your while, I'd surely appreciate at least some of the "Instance-won-reward" all the fighters get.

     

    IMHO an even more detailed logic would give "both" groups defending Iscalrith a fair share of the reward (yes, I left out mages in this one... feel free to add logic for them):

     

    Fighters: If the fall into the indented range for the invance, they will get the regular a/d bonus in the end - undercappers would be considered "unable to deal a significant share of damage (in close combat)" and thus not get a/d reward.

     

    Archers: They can obviously only help defending the fort in a significant manner if their skill (and maybe AP) is high enough, but since they wouldn't be able to deal heavy damage in close combat (if undercapping) they'd not get a/d experience but ranging experience instead (corresponding to the way in which they helped defend the fort).

     

    ==> Formula (Psudo-code):

    IF (a/d is in invance range) { 
     reward = (full) invance-specific a/d exp bonus
    } ELSE* IF (ranging is in invance-appropriate skill-range**) {
     reward = invance-specific ranging exp bonus
    } ELSE {
     reward = 0
    }

     

    * Important here: ranging exp is only given, if participant is NOT elgible for a/d reward (you can't get both, of course, just because your abilities fit both categories)

    ** I think the requirements for raning skill (and possibly AP) should also vary with the invance difficulty (i.e. you hardly need to be a lvl 50 / 25 AP ranger for 60/80 invance!)

     

    Also: The above quoted decreased a/d-reward for undercapping fighters (suggested by learg) could easily be added to this formula, if deemed appropricate by radu.


  5. Second hand titanium long swords come first in the Weapon section of my storage and the images are identical..

    ... same with arrows / PK arrows, bolts / PK bolts and in your case: even radioactive titanium long swords could be confused by the list.

    It seems to be icon-ID-based. Not sure if it's been mentioned before, I just haven't got around to doing so myself, yet.

     

    But yes, it definitely looks like a bug, or at least an incapability of the otherwise so useful and convenient item lists.


  6. So I made my first little batch of these potions and I'm a bit dissapointed. Books are 12,000gc each, ingredients are not exactly supercheap (affordable, obtainable, just not too much expendable), you need some level to mix them and yet they give the exact same protection as fairly easy and foremost cheap spells (10 essences only).

     

    Then again, there's the (none-too-low) required Magic level to use those spells...whereas ANYONE can use the potions, once made.

    (just a spontaneous, non-reflected thought of mine)

I can fully understand your confusion, starlite - as I was equally confused last night before my first 80-100 invance: Wehn I arrived at Battle Hall (after second call!), there were 3 others already sitting on the rug, so I thought: " Oh my, only threee fighters and my Elven are supposed to defend all Iscalrith? This on will be tough!" After two more mintues I mouthed my concern, asking as well if mayhaps some others had already been taken to Iscalrith somehow. Only then way I told, that yes, some had gone already. So I talked to Ilie immediately and noticed the latest (fifth) option to reply, and all became clear to me.

     

    I didn't bother to talk to her either initially, since in the "regular" instances I had joined so far, it was always our tank (or some other kind of leader) who talked to Ilie, else I would have most likely noted that option earlier.

     

    And since the only way to "start and invance" people kept telling me about was "radu has to do it manually", I'd never have thought everone could "beam him/herself into Iscalrith" by talking to Ilie once the Invance had been set up (first call).


  9. Gwaew - hates to talk about skills by means of mere numbers...

    I'd like to join such a team to face this kind of foes in Iscalrith as a pure ranger, who's missiles shot with her trusted Elven Bow would be slightly (but only slightly) more deadly than Tosh's - also her spells of healing prove to be a slight bit more reliable than his, if not quite fail proof, yet.

     

    My extra-draiestrial spare time for such an occasion would be most any evening in the Central European Summer no earlier than 8 o'clock.


  10. Well, the team of Charisma, cajun_belle, KriXuS, guinevereanne, and finja killed the badaran again, and we got ANOTHER bad day removal stone. :\

    Hi, not sure if this has been mentioned in the thread already (didn't see it), but has anyone noticed, yet that the first 5 letters of the "Ba Da R an" could stand for exactly this type of day stone? Now unless "an" stands for "And Nodropsday" or "And Nonstopday" or something it may be that the bad day removals are the only drop... which would be sad, of course - I mean simply because it would be rather "boring" to have only one and the same stone always on this monster...

     

    On the other hand in his Server update message, Radu was using the plural when speking of the dropped stones:

     

    Added a new monster, who drops/uses day stones. I took some of the day stones from the nenorocit and added them to this new monster.

     

    Let's just hope for the best :rolleyes:

  12. Please forgive my ignorance, as I haven't yet played on PK server - and haven't played at all in ~ 3 weeks now....

    => Are those 50k drops some special feature of Pk server only? Or was that a general update i missed?

    I've only heard of the 50k being dropped by Neno on main, so far.


  13. What I've been wondering is: Do you get the same damage as the person triggering the radon pouch (...) or do you get the damage you'd get if you had triggered it yourself :confused: ?

    And does the effect decrease with distance from the person originally getting the event? (as would be "natural" for AoE-events)


  14. This is a question (well actually two) for all master smiths in Draia ;)

     

    Which kinds of modable swords are known to exist (i.e. can be made by chance when attempting to make the sword) currently?

    And which of them can actually be enchanted (i.e. made into a Sword of Fire, of Thermal or whatever with the proper knowledge) currently?

     

    I know that many books are around suggesting such abilities, but I also understand (or think I've heard peaople state) that for some swords no modables can be made (anymore? :confused: )....

     

    I'd just like to be clear on the current options for enchanting weapons (and thus understand the reason for some insane amounts of gold copins asked for some of them :P

  16. The house in Palon Vertas at [314,42] --> You are in an inside area. - Palon Vertas [708,185]

    has inside a door that only works when clicked from its "outside" (whe looking at the room from it's southern side). Clicking the inner side of the door does nothing (also "door" cursor won't even appear).

     

    Been searching this forum, but I don't think this has been reported, yet.
