  2. After just over a week, the standing remains the same as last post: Most guild entrances tracked by a single player so far: 32 (of 37) ... so close ... Guild entrances no one has tracked yet: 4 Guilds no one has tracked at all yet: 2 * Some guilds have multiple entrances, thus the difference between the two numbers above. People who thought they knew 'em all are discovering they didn't! Do you know one of the ones not tracked by anyone yet? How do you compare? Have some changed that you're unaware of? Where's the pro secret hunters? ;-) Gotta track 'em all! https://el-db.com
  3. https://el-db.com EL-DB, the unofficial Eternal Lands Database is open for beta. Do you really know your game secrets? Create an account and track them! As you enter map secrets, they'll appear (to you) on map pages, and you can access map pages for secret areas. The system tracks all your secrets and will tell you how far you have to go to find them all On your account page, you'll get 3 random hints for secrets to help you find more (or remember to enter ones you know) The hints can be really easy or incredibly vague depending on how well known the secret is. (Guild maps are not considered secrets so aren't included, and no information is ever given to find those) Game Mods - Once you've created an account, send this as a PM ingame: /EL_DB moderator Once confirmed to actually be a mod, you'll get access to more info (currently just tp/invasion coordinate+map numbers for every location)
  4. After the weekend: Most guild entrances tracked by a single player so far: 32 (of 37) ... so close ... Guild entrances no one has tracked yet: 4 People who thought they knew 'em all are discovering they didn't! Do you know one of the ones not tracked by anyone yet? How do you compare? Have some changed that you're unaware of? And don't forget finding secrets! 6 secrets are currently untracked by anyone. Gotta track 'em all! https://el-db.com (I'll add a generic list of maps in the order that they're most known, but only after enough people start tracking to do one.)
  5. 48 hours: Most guild entrances tracked by a single player so far: 30 (of 37) Guild entrances no one has tracked yet: 6 Come on, I did the hard part writing the code, do the easy part and track what you know! Do you really know what you think you know? This is a way to find out!
  6. 24 hours: Most guild entrances tracked by a single player so far: 19 (of 37) Guild entrances no one has tracked yet: 14 Wanna see the tracking of those who bragged they knew most or all of them. ;-)
  7. Now available on https://el-db.com Track your found Guild Maps Think you know every entrance? You really don't. Remember that with each client update, some entrances have changed, including several with the last client update. Chances are some you knew, you don't know any more. (Out of respect for the owners of these paid maps, this tracking system is very limited, but will allow you to know if you've actually found them all.) * There's now a list of all guild maps on your user page when logged in to the site. * Enter guild map entrances the same as secrets by going to their entrance map and entering the info there. Your user page list will show which ones you've entered. * Absolutely NO HINTS will be provided for guild maps. * Some guild maps have two entrances. You won't be told which ones do, but you'll know you found them if you enter all 37 entrances for the 31 guild maps. * This is only for tracking the ones you've found. It won't provide any further info about the map, or any of its internal secrets.
  8. It's done, no more excuses that it's too hard to find internal locations... Map File Pages are here! Example: https://el-db.com/Map_File_map11_insmsch.html There's a page for each map file. You can click directly on the image to go to the page of the room or cave or whatever that you want to view info for! Or use the location list on the side. Map File Pages are listed in the Maps section, or you can enter the map file name in the Find Page bar. Details on it, and a couple other site updates just made right before posting this, on the front page: https://el-db.com .
  9. BEING WORKED ON: https://el-db.com/tempstuff/map-file-pages-alpha.jpg (too large to directly show here - also just getting started, so subject to heavy change before it goes live) Map file pages that show the map by its file name, and lists every location available on that map file. Besides making individual areas more easily accessed, this should address the most difficult part of tracking secrets. In an example like the PV Magic School linked above, you currently have to click from internal to internal to find the correct internal. With this page, you can click directly to any individual area. (I'm hoping to set it up so you can click on the map image itself and go to the location you click on, depending on how difficult that is. But even without that, it should be much easier to find individual internal areas.) And yes, you can click on and view secret areas directly from these pages. The way to get into them remains secret, of course. The map files will be listed on the Maps page, or you can type the file name in the search to go directly to one. The map's file name is on the map image itself, above/below the single or multi combat info, like so:
  10. Updates are complete! (I hope.) You can now track secrets added with 1.9.7. Among other things. Details in the news on the front page. https://el-db.com
  11. Almost ready... going through all the secrets and finding the changed or removed ones as well as making sure all the new ones are added was no simple task. Shame on me for not making it simpler. Expecting to take the site down this weekend for the update.
  12. A shutdown of EL-DB will be coming at some point before the end of the month so I can update all the data and the secret system. No idea how long the shutdown will be at this point, there's a lot to deal with when it comes to the secret system. I expect it to be less than a day, but could be two. During shutdown... If you're doing secrets, you'll just have to wait to add more. If you're using the quest tracker, you won't be able to see your quest statuses while it's down. How will secrets be handled? If a secret from 1.9.6 has changed and you've entered it, it'll be reverted so you have to re-enter it with its new information. (On the positive side, if you've done most all of the secrets, you'll easily see from hints which ones changed.) Otherwise deleted secrets will be removed of course, and all new ones added. No one will be at 100%. (I also have a new feature for the site concerning maps that will heavily reduce the time it takes to find the right page to enter a secret, but it'll come later in May. I gotta get the 1.9.7 data updated first.)
  13. Real life kept me from focusing on getting EL-DB updated. Or even being in the game. Finally getting around to it. The secret system on the site wasn't designed with secret changes in mind (my bad, hehe). So it's taking a bit of time to go through and revamp... changing secrets that have changed and adding the new ones. But I'm working on it now, and with luck should have the site updated around the end of the month.
  14. The wandering Trade Bots of Tarsengaard

This happens everywhere, and happened long before markets in MM/TG were added. If the owner is active, message them so they can put it back in place. If the owner is unknown or inactive, message Aislinn or Vinoveritas, either can move it back where it belongs.
  15. Just a maps peek (1.9.7)

I occasionally get messages "did you change this" about random things... yes, if it looks different, it's been tweaked. Listing every tiny little change in the changelog radu posted would have been a nightmare, so besides what was listed there, there's a lot of tiny little detail adjustments throughout many of the maps. Nothing game-changing, just improving or making slightly more useable. Tiny? Like here in EVTR, the impatiens outside on the side of the tavern. Used to be when clicking them you could accidentally click the tavern itself and end up going inside. Some wood panels were added between the impatiens and the building itself, so you can harvest without that happening. Just one example of the "tiny stuff" changes not mentioned in the update changelog.
  16. Just a maps peek (1.9.7)

I've shown most everything here in random posts in @@6, but here goes. The forum shrinks images so you can click the link to see most in larger formats. THIS IS NOT A SUGGESTION THREAD. Work is finished for the maps. It is also only map changes, I don't control anything else. ETA of release: Mid-November. Subject to change for unforeseen reasons, but even then it won't be long. Some of the best changes are not shown. Gotta have some suprises, amirite? This is just a sneak of a few of the many differences. This is a combination of work done by both myself and Acelon. 1) The expanded C2 Underworld Is Idaloran invaded as it tends to be regularly? You'll have another option (and some secret options, good luck finding those) for exits. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/the-new-underworld.jpg 2) Tab Maps will have changes A cleaner look, additional marks for places to start fires and where to use tickets and tokens, and other changes. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/the-updated-197-tab-map-look-and-minor-anitora-update.jpg 2b) Inner Tab Map Markup Improvements Markings of internal areas now are done with an orange (or green) background so they can be more easily seen in all the text from exit marks. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/the-new-inner-map-location-marks.jpg 3) Invancers be Invancing No snow in invance so no acid rain day issues. Set to C1 so if you teleport out of the map you can get to MM quicker. As well as all the changes listed in the bottom right of this image. No more accidentally clicking a house and getting sent out of the invance while trying to click critters. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/the-new-invance-map.jpg 4) Dung Portal is legible. As are the Token Map insides. These were on a map size way too large for the little that was on it. Everything got moved to a smaller map. They're exactly the same, but you can now more easily navigate the dung portal. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/dung-portal-and-token-insides-map-update.jpg 5) Tirnym Insides has its own map A new map will be included that has Tirnym / Tirnym Past Insides separated from where they used to be on the PV insides map. Some new insides created by Acelon are also added. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/the-new-tirnym-insides-map.jpg 6) A lot of Cursor Hell is gone Many arches (on 20+ maps) have been painstaking gone through by hand and changed to ones that won't change your cursor to a "use" door cursor. Melinis is the most notable place. When you're running around the desert chasing fluffy dailies, or invaders, your cursor will no longer try to "use" the various arches that exist around the desert. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/reducing-the-curse-of-the-cursor.jpg 7) Where the Underworld am I? A few new secrets for the hunters to find. A few new buildings. And some changes to current maps can be expected. This image is just one of the more WTF places you may find if you're a good enough explorer. You might find it useful. You might not. Who knows? I don't know. Only one way to find out. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/wtf-is-this-secret.jpg 8) TG Bot Marketplace Tarsengaard has a new bot marketplace, like the one next to the battle hall in MM. This will require bots to be moved at some point during the first week after the release, first come first serve for locations. Any that aren't moved after a week or so will get moved into place. 36 stalls are available, more than enough for the bots currently in TG. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/tg-36stalls.jpg 9) Expanded MM Bot Marketplace This is an older image, but it shows how the MM market is expanded to add 14 more stalls. https://el-db.com/tempstuff/mm-expanded-bot-market.jpg This is just a small selection of some of what will be coming. Some of the bigger additions aren't included, cuz, you know, surprise. The final list of updates that you'll see on client release is quite big.
  17. DON'T INSTALL THE LATEST CLIENT (YET) The official downloads page now has the 1.9.7 final build clients. You can download them to prepare for the coming-very-soon update, but DO NOT INSTALL them until the server update happens. You will have an incredibly difficult time playing if you do, due to the heavy amount of map changes. While you may see new stuff in the updated client, it's not on the server so you'll find yourself unable to move, falling into "holes", and in some cases entering places to find yourself in a black hole of nothing. You cannot actively play with the 1.9.7 client until the server itself is updated. You'll know when you have to update because any old client will not be allowed to log in after the server updates, forcing you to update. And of course, there will be an announcement here on the forum. ANDROID USERS: If your device auto-updates, then you may have gotten the 1.9.7 client installed already from Google Play. If that happened to you and you want to continue playing normally until the update, go to the "client test" thread on this forum, download the test apk from there and install it. You may need to turn auto-updates from Play off until the server updates. If you already updated to 1.9.7 for Win/Lin/Mac... I dunno what to say, unless you happen to have a 1.9.6 build or someone can provide one, you may have to wait for the server update PLACES TO AVOID Due to map changes, you should not be in any of the following locations when the server updates. (So don't AFK in them, and avoid going to them when the update is about to happen.) 1- Tirnym Cave that leads to Tirnym Past, any Tirnym Past insides/cave, the secret Tirnym small quartz cave (everything on the top non-Palon Vertas half of cont2map5_insides) 2- Dung Portal Room 3- Token Map Insides Reason: The locations these places are in do not exist anymore as they have been moved to different map locations. You may have issues logging in if you're in any of these locations when the update occurs. Tirnym, Tirnym Past, and Token Map OUTSIDES are fine, it's just the noted insides above that are problematic. (Instance maps should be avoided as well, of course.)
  18. No, I will never provide a list that can be copy-pasted and reshared to others of secrets. That's the whole reason the Hints were painstakingly created, to hint at unentered secrets, as well as to clue people on things to look for.
  19. All straggling bots that hadn't moved into the markets have now been moved into the markets by the mighty power of Aislinn. ;-)
  20. When the 1.9.7 client is officially released, all bots in Tarsengaard and a handful in Morcraven Marsh will need to move into the new/updated bot markets. Affected bots will need to be moved within one week after the client is launched. Any still not moved after that time will be moved by VinoVeritas (el-services) or a moderator into whatever stalls are available. Morcraven Marsh Bots The few bots that are not in a stall due to overflow, or are in the 4 stalls along the west edge closest to the water, will need to be moved into one of the newly added stalls. All other bots will be fine where they are, though you can move your bot to a free new stall if you prefer a different location. (current bots that will need to move are Tradesman, Leg0las, Mace, Duck, and my bot IWannaRock) There will be 14 more stalls than what currently exist. You can see how it will change here: https://el-db.com/tempstuff/mm-expanded-bot-market.jpg Tarsengaard Bots Like MM, TG will now have a bot market due to the flood of bots in the storage/daily areas. All bots in TG will need to be moved into the new market. There's room for 36 bots, much more than there are bots currently in TG. First-come, first-serve for stall locations. You can place your bot in any of the stalls that aren't already occupied. You can see the new market here: https://el-db.com/tempstuff/tg-36stalls.jpg Ensure your bot is standing directly behind what would be a stall stand. See where IWannaRock and Selain are standing in the linked image as examples. Exceptions: Bots intentionally placed in very distant locations on the map, for purposes that aren't to be close to the storage or dailies. The purpose is to clean up the bot mess in the daily-storage area, not restrict bots all over the map. For example, there were once bots that were near the VotD exit, far away from storage/dailies. Those would be fine. However at this time, no such exceptions have been seen. Instructions for bots on el-services to ensure they continue to work: 1) el-services admin panel: Shutdown your bot. 2) IN A CLIENT, Log in to the bot account, move it into an available stall. Rotate bot to right direction. 3) Compass-click to get the coordinates, log out. 4) el-services admin panel: Go to Management > Bot 5) on that page, enter your new x,y location coordinates and the heading (direction bot faces) which should be north or south. 5a) Also change the extra location description if needed. 6) el-services admin panel: Launch your bot. It's important to change the x,y loc in the admin panel, as the bot may not trade if you're not on the given coordinates. 7) TEST YOUR BOT by starting a trade with it and asking to buy something on it. If it puts the item in the trade window, it's working. If not, make sure your x,y is correct, then shutdown and restart your bot.
  21. Attention ALL bot owners in the MM bot market! Because they're so crowded into one area while the new stalls are a mostly empty large area: If you have a bot anywhere in the MM market currently, and wish to move it into one of the new stalls in order to spread out, feel free to do so. (Valid through Monday)
  22. Excellent transition so far. 2/3 of the bots in TG/MM that needed to move are done. Those left are owned by players that haven't been online in 2 weeks or more. Still, they'll have through Sunday (one week) before they get forcibly moved.
  23. https://maps.el-db.com/ All 4 types available for 1.9.6 are available for 1.9.7. (Simple Min version is what you get with the official client so that version is official.) CHANGELOG: Updated to include all new and changed locations in 1.9.7 Maps are now in JPG format instead of DDS, which allows for smaller file sizes (and the JPGs just look better) Invance has its own new unique tab map that shows its differences from standard Iscalrith New tab map for Tirnym Insides Inside map markings now have background (orange / green) color to make them easier to see among exit marks Epic Events unofficial map now has markup like official maps Several guild maps have had some decorative enhancements to improve their look (guild maps still have no markup on them though, this is purely for tab map look) 4K high quality versions added as an option Android Users - Get better Tab Maps! Tab maps in the Android client are only 512x512 pixels, whereas 1024x1024 is the standard. This due to the need to reduce the size of the Android APK. While the 512px versions are useable, you can get the 1024px versions from my link above which will look much better in most devices. Just follow the same instructions given for the unoff maps. Brand NEW! 4k Detailed Min/Max tab maps! (Detailed map versions only, not the "watercolor"-looking Simple maps) If you have a 4k monitor and tend to play maximized, you can try the 4K versions of the Detailed unoff tab maps, which are 2048x2048 pixels as opposed to the 1024x1024 standard. These are built-from-scratch, not just resized, so you'll get a much cleaner look than a magnified 1024px map. Important: These should be okay but are not tested well. Remember that they have to load each time you change maps and they are of course a large file to load. If you use these, do some test runs yourself in a safe environment to see if map change loading times are okay for your computer or device. WS or Ida would be good places to test map changing.
