I hate to be the one to break this to you, but WinXP runs just fine with even lesser machines that you speak of. Athlon550 with 256 megs: Just fine. Hell, even a Celeron 300 with 128 megs performs ok after initial swapping (after booting). Of course the better CPU and more RAM helps, but if you need a 8 GHz processor to run WinXP, it is YOU who is doing something wrong, not Windows.

I was just trying the test server and tried to use the same name as I use in the real game (Korgan). It was already taken and this is the first time I've even tried the test server. Basically I'd like to know, if the same names are taken on test server as the ones on the real server, or did some mother****er take my name? That's about it. Anyone?

He also asked to see monster's total hp (Material points... generally "hit points", so "hp"). Which you can see, without attacking, with Alt-B, just like I previously said.

This was exactly what I needed to know. Or rather, I tested it myself. Tried to log in with my name and password, and my character was still there, sitting in the same place where I was sitting during the meeting about updates, in the WSC hall... I had always thought you had to create a new character for test server, and that's why I asked. Today was the first time I ever logged on to the test server.

Cash = money = gold coins. Basically someone offered you 1000 gold coins, and you took 150 gold coins instead. It's as simple as that. But hey, your loss. ^_^

This is exactly what I said in the thread about the changes and also spoke about it in the meeting about the changes at WSC meeting hall. Rather use serp stones for tit chain and tit long. Maybe 2 for serp.

I just remembered something today. Serp stone description says "titanium weapons and armors". How about make titanium chain use a serp stone instead of an EFE? Basically it could be: * 1 serpent stone for tit chain * 1 serpent stone for tit long * 2 serpent stones for tit serp I hope someone even considers something like this. Even if I say so myself, I think that would be better than everyone mass producing FE. This way, the price of serp stone would raise since the most common armor among "midbies" (tit chain) would be somewhat harder to obtain.

This post is completely flame free, please read. Since stuff is rare now, please... 1) Tune Tankel to be more efficient with repairs, or 2) Give players the ability to repair. For example, repairing a titanium serpent sword could need a new serp sword (for the magic), and a number of titanium bars and fire essences. Instead of the huge amount of EFE, blacksmith's forges could be introduced. I'd rather pay big bucks (in game money, I'm poor in real life) for a forge, instead of making tens of thousands of FE to get a single EFE. This means you could use the forge (and time) in the place of the EFE(s). Besides, how cool would that be to have your very own blacksmith's shop? Alternatively, you could make it so that you can try to make an EFE somehow. Perhaps have it take 100 sulphur and 100 of each flower, and make it very high level so succeeding is very hard at best. Or perhaps make an NPC that trades 2000 FE (don't have to bring them in one shot, no player can carry 2000 EMU) to one EFE. Or perhaps an NPC that generally trades enriched essences to other enriched essences. For example, I bring him enriched water and asks "What a beautiful Enriched Water Essence! What would you want in return?, and then I could choose an EFE. Or if that is too good, make it 1 enriched essence and some gold. Or just a lot of gold. Harvesting is a bit slow, so is manufacturing (including potions and such). It's not a bad system, but even Iron takes a long time to harvest now. I think I got 3 harvests in 30 seconds. I would humbly suggest lowering the times a little. Also I wouild like to see success messages. That's about it. I hope you found my suggestions at least somewhat reasonable and maybe even doable. Edit: Fixed one typo.... ^_^

I didn't compare myself to monsters. I was comparing myself to another player. Someone with equal phys, lower coord, several levels lower att/def, and lesser armor. I still got hit more and took more damage. It's about luck. I have the worst luck in the world, ergo the monsters crit me 75% of the time.

It's all about luck. I get hit (damaged) more against the same monster than someone else with less Att/Def, lower stats AND worse armor. Consider yourself lucky.

Unless we're talking about glass-studded whips (nagaika), metal whips (scourge), or barbed whips, a whip would do something in the vicinity of 1-2 damage. Any human, even in real life, can take 50 whip lashes and suffer only from some bleeding and bruises. Also a whip is very hard to control. The true power lies in its ability to trip (whip around opponent's leg and a quick pull), or disarming opponent (same method, use weapon as target), or restriction of the opponent. All these methods require a lot of training (in EL standards, you might have to read a "Whip Training/Mastery" book or something).

The weapon in your picture is a flail, not mace. Mace: A heavy staff or club of metal; a spiked club; -- used as weapon in war before the general use of firearms, especially in the Middle Ages, for breaking metal armor. This is a mace:

Or perhaps make it add "+critical to hit" and maybe critical damage too. I do agree that sun medallion is a bit useless right now. Then again, so is Stars. There was a thread about the meds a while back and it looks like people only use Unicorn and Moon. Perhaps something like this... Moon: +4 accuracy, +4 armor --> no change Sun: +4 accuracy --> +? critical hit, +? critical damage (or +fire damage?) Stars: +4 damage --> +? accuracy, +? damage Unicorn: +4 defense --> no change Depending on the ?-values, this might make Unicorn medallion useless, though...

Wow, I never thought it was possible to get ranger and druid as favored and disfavored classes. Well now that I think of it, many ranger answers are also rogueish, so... You might've had just a wee tiny bit more points in ranger than rogue. Basically depending on the question, similarities were between druid and wizard (magic), druid and ranger (wilderness abilities), ranger and rogue (stealth), druid and cleric (healing)... Things that are goodygoody are paladin (and sometimes cleric), lawful and disciplined mind is monk (and sometimes paladin)... Also certain things are highly one class and give negative points on another. Mostly the results have been rather sensible and quite accurate at least in the cases of the people I know and took the test.

Dwarves are perfect already. Also dwarves are probably the most honorable race of them all. Hmm. Lose the "probably". Dwarves are the most honorable race. Storylines aside, the real reason is teens who think Legolas was soooo cooool. And dwarves are not in recline, most just choose to stay at their ancestral homes instead of joining the less honorable and less hardworking tall folk. However, some choose the life among the humans and elves, if only to show them how hard work is its own reward.
