  1. Fluffy Sheep

    110/110 a/d

    something btw fero and DC

    300 health

drops up to 100gc, 5 thread 2 meat

So like this?: Sheep! (go to the next page to see what they are capable of.)

They could move as a flock in invasion :D

From that same comic i like:Zombilops

Huge game potential-drops hummm maybe bones and gc with rare chance of saving stones and invasion meters ;D

And I've always wanted a hippo ingame I'm thinking about just going ahead and making the model and textures even if it's never used.

Hippo would drop bones and meat but would have to be higher then other animals as it is very dangerous. It should be above the elephant and animal planet says it should be above the croc too if we ever get one of those.

  2. voted my 2cents- The few times I've seen the bronze used it has seemed OP'ed but seems like a nice invasion sword to me.

Also on this and since dragon armors have been brought up many talk of the neg/postive benifits of have diff armors and such which I think is true there should be trade off for what you using so what about neg. lvl effects on dragon armors or even swords? Thought i'd throw that out there see what people think so like:

Black dragon torso: +15 armor, +4 heat, +3 magic pro., +3 magic res., -7 Summoning lvls

you could do neg summon, magic, a/d to balance the armor so in effect your giving up something of possible benefit in pk to wear the armor. (maybe even if you wear it you can't summon? but that might be too much)

Then the uber rare forms of the armor could be same stats minus the neg. lvl effect and since there are none in the game atm would take awhile before many pkers got their hands on them but it might also add to the crazy high gc spent on pk related armor already. maybe expensive shop only item :D

PS:I've never crit failed on a CoL ;) (watch your astro and get your lvls up first)

  3. I like this idea, anything that makes the gods in EL more usable seems good to me.

    Ideas I had were:

    1. Make the "Relic" or "Holy" object quest related. Once you reach max lvl in the god quests then you do another quest to be able to receive the relic from the priest. Then you can purchase them from the priest to be used. (if you leave the god any relics you bought disappear from sto and you have to do quest again if you rejoin god.)

    2. Have them be used with another object like others have said BUT make that item purchasable only from shop. Here me out on this. Make them cheap like 200 polishing cloths for your relic for $5.(even if you go by 8kgc/$1 that makes them 200gc each) That makes them cheap enough for people to buy and put on their Bot or sell on the market for low gc. That way EL can start effectively using it shop more often. You could even base the # of polishing cloths on the "difficulty" of the skill say magic, a/d take 2 cloths instead of one etc. Maybe make them a high lvl monster drop but they would have to be of equivalent rate/value as shop.

    3. Think about a cool down time for the item.

    For fun relic names

    Aluwen's Scepter of Defense

    Zarin's Jewel of Beauty

    Glilin's Hammer of Perfection

    Mortos' Mace of Blood

    Elandria's Orb of Perception

    Unolas' Staff of Power

    Jayden's Tome of Complexity

    Selian's Statuette of Power

    LaForge's Tricorder of Knowledge :P

    Etc.. :(

  4. Ok well due to recent losses on the battlefield I need some gc to pick myself back up.

    Starting bid:150k or equivalent

    Increments can be whatever

    accepting gc but also accepting:

Will consider any kinds of items/combination's for trade as long as it is of equivalent value and new bid is higher the previous bidder.

Auction runs till Sunday Aug 9, 8pm CST(Central Standard time US)

Edit-Some people wanted gc values for items listed....

  5. Hey dunno if your still checking this but I thought i'd throw this out there since i had issues with vista as well

I noticed you said you had a dual core and that your getting a graphics error I had a similar problem but i was able to load into EL but it would randomly black out and then give me the error. This is how i fixed it:

before you start up EL launch your Windows task manager and go to the Processes tab

Next start up EL but before you log in find the el.exe process on your list.

Right click on it and go to Set Affinity

Make sure only 1 cpu is selected

Log in to EL and see if you have a problem

From what i'm able to gather EL has a problem with sending information to secondary processors in windows and then causing it to crash. i was going to post it in bugs but was making sure before i did. But if it helps you then i can confirm it :lurker: The problem although a processor one tends to show up as video error. Let me know if this works for you i'm interested in seeing if this is the case. It seems to have solved mine "video" error.

  6. my 2 cents ;)

Dunno about variable quests every time from the bottom up but I've always been interested in the idea of a on-going worship blessings. Meaning every month or every 3 months you reaffirm your dedication to a specific deity and get some temporary bonus/perk until the next time you need to reaffirm. That in my opinion could be variable.

This would be good in two ways 1)keeps people interested in the god quests 2)removes potential items that are building up in the game and creates a temporary market to get them out.

The quests every so many months could be adjusted based on the info radu has on items clustered up sto's that he feels needs to be removed say excess EWE's for example. Maybe to get a new bonus from mortos he needs 3 EWE for your next 3 month blessing. Then next time you go he wants 3 serpent stones or a bronze bar or 1000 leopard furs who knows but it keeps the player going back for the temporary bonus/perk.

I suggested this idea once for guilds to be able to serve gods and receive a bonus/perk of some sort but not sure if anyone noticed :icon13: (guild offerings to gods though would have to be fairly large imo, but could have some neat benefit like being able to gain access to a book or item not makable by anyone but a person in a guild serving that god with a high enough skill lvl.)

  7. I've always played more for xp then gc, then when I get gc I use it to get xp ;) imo xp=future gc even if it's not total profit.

If your wanting to include harvesting xp into your calculations you should consider getting the total possible then multiplying it by 6-10% that would be more realistic based on amount of harvest time in an hour that you do not get xp, just a thought.

  8. Interesting idea I think it would add some diversity to the fighting system to have ranging and magic only fightable creatures.

How would the creatures then counter-attack? If they can only be killed with ranged, they won't come down? or would they crap on you to death or smth? not thought out competely.

Well some birds do attack if threatened and then usually bring friends. Perhaps up the def. against a ranged attack so it takes more shots to kill but if hit with in the "attack zone" then It will swoop like normal and then send out a call to other birds near by to auto attack. Would be an interesting feature since it's an animal normally non-aggressive till provoked and then any near by "allies" become aggressive for a certain amount of time.

It's pry photoshopped but: Birds Attack :P

  9. Enchanted Pickaxes:

Couldn't find a post on this so sorry if there is one.

First note: THESE ARE NOT UNBREAKABLE OR PREVENT MINI-EVENTS, unbreakable is not good for game imo and Ent. has chosen to keep mini-events so I will respect that. So please don't hijack this thread for either of those two things.

Here is my idea. Since we now have enchanted armor I thought I'd throw something out there for the harvesters. These would be a series of colored pickaxes that give some bonus or possibly neg. with a bonus. Since Harvesting is now a skill of it's own it should have it's own style of tools :P I tried to match the value of the pickaxe to the value of the bonus.

    Red-Pickaxe of Material

1 pickaxe, 4 sunflowers, 5 Red quartz, 10 magic ess

Restores Material 5 hp every min while harvesting.

    Light Blue-Pickaxe of Ether

1 pickaxe, 10 blue star flowers, 5 blue quartz, 10 magic ess

Restores Ether by 5 every min while harvesting.

    Green-Pickaxe of Monster Magnetism

1 pickaxe, 1 Serpent stone, 20 mugwort, 50 magic ess

Gives monster mag. perk, If an event that breaks a pickaxe is triggered and harvester has another pickaxe in inv. that one breaks instead, If not this one breaks.

    Grey-Pickaxe of Powersaving

1 pickaxe, 2 feasting pots, 20 energy ess, 20 magic ess

Food Level does not go down while harvesting.

    Brown-Pickaxe of Harvesting

1 pickaxe, 1 harvesting potion, 20 magic ess

Gives Harvester perk instead of cape. Normal pickaxe break rate.

    Glowing(transparent)-Pickaxe of LESS Breaking

1 pickaxe, 10 polished diamonds, 1 wolf ore, 50 magic ess

If a pickaxe breaking event occurs there is a XX% chance that the pickaxe doesn't break and you keep harvesting, you get message.

    Black-Pickaxe of Mirror

1 pickaxe, 1 hydro ore, 20 black rose, 50 magic ess

If a event that causes HP loss is triggered you have XX% chance of transferring the damage to a nearby player. (thought this might be fun for outlaws)

    Orange-Pickaxe of NMT

1 pickaxe, 2 tin ore, 10 yellow rose, 50 magic ess

If an event triggers a Harvester Medallion break pickaxe breaks instead.

    Dark Blue-Pickaxe of Artificer

1 pickaxe, 1 ewe, 20 polished sapphires, 50 magic ess

Increases chance of finding rare stones by XX%, if a break event is triggered and person has another pickaxe in

inv. it breaks instead, if not this one breaks. High break rate.

    Purple-Pickaxe of Jelly bones

    1 pickaxe, 10 nails, 20 Violets, 50 Magic ess

Harvest speed is increased by XX, but all events and mini-events do double(triple?) damage to HP. High break rate.

    Pink-Pickaxe of Sorrow

1 pickaxe, 1 heavenspawn med., 50 magic ess

Harvest 1 extra item per turn, All events become teleports with a XX% chance of teleporting to the Underworld.

Note: this next one was thought of before the potion was removed. Thought I'd keep it in here though.

Regular but with magic trail like great sword-Pickaxe of SpeedHax

1 pickaxe, 1 Potion SpeedHax, 50 Magic ess

Gives speedhax perk while carrying with a XX% change of breaking while walking causing you to stop. Normal break rate but with a cooldown once used of 2min. before you can unequip to prevent people from running to harvest and switching axes, used means any time you move.(could be fun to do a sword like this too like a s2e, not great in combat but gives speedhax perk with higher brake chance)

What do you think? I tried hard to make them "affordable" for what they offer so they are made and used, and also made a way with the more expensive ones to be "protected" if your paying attention but still sink money in the breakage of pickaxes. Just a way to make harvesting somewhat more interesting. Also perks would apply if your harvesting plants with the pickaxe equipped but not on items that require gloves: sulfur, dung etc.

And I would be willing to donate to Ent. for the implementation :) As far as what skill they should be made under idk. Enchanted armor is under crafting but I'm biased as I'm a crafter.... maybe engineering? might spur some more to go into that skill.

% where left blank as game developers would have a better idea as to what those should be set at.

PS: I know I write long posts....can't help it I work in a book store, the novels rub off on me.

  10. I would use it IF i happened to have the ing. in storage. It's kinda hard to stock up for lvls I need even at 3x exp. and i generally only use school for manu.

Question: some mentioned summon schools would they be 1/3 the ehter needed instead of 1/2(since that's how they work...)? if so i might use summon arena that day too.

  11. This topic is very interesting to me. So I'll toss out my 2 cents.

I think for a anything like a council to work there would have to be a process not based on players voting to decide who's in. It would have to comprise the game developers and then a group of selected individuals from the game. The selection process I think would work best like this:

    1. Developers select 5 or so initial player candidates(mod's, skilled, amount of time played whatever, that they trust but maybe don't agree with 100% of the time but have given them good feedback in the past that has not been flaming).

    2. Then players can submit a application to be apart of the council for a set period of time say 6 months-1 year (maybe less, maybe until they leave or are voted out).

    3. The Candidates that the developers picked go through and fill out the number of places left on the council 20, 50 whatever the number decided is.

    4. The applicants that are approved by the candidates are reviewed by the developers and then approved for the council.

    5. Council is then in session with their own forum.

If a member needs to leave due to personal issues, becomes inactive, or doesn't give useful feedback but rather flames, then they are removed from the council (by a vote of the 5 selected candidates and the developers) and a new player can be chosen from the applicants.

This would take a bit to set up but the things the council could then do is help support the Developers in the idea generation stage. If an idea is being considered or a council member suggests an idea it is discussed BEFORE it gets to a poll in general chat. This will help flesh out an idea and when the poll comes up more rounded information of what an idea would do or how it would affect the game has already been included. I think this would lead to less flaming, idk that you can ever prevent all of it, but players would have a better idea of what is actually going to happen and you would have a group of 20-50 educated people on the topic already that can help inform further and taking some of that burden off developers.

This also still keeps the voting in general up but I think with more of a possibility of an idea succeeding in a general vote as more information has been worked over before presentation.

Applications would need to include some questions like these and I think a form filled out on a web page link would work well:

    Your in game name/forum name

How long have you played EL?

How many hours do you play a week? month?

What do you consider to be your main skill/skills?

How long do you plan to be on the council? (6 months, 1 year, until you drag me off kicking and screaming)

Why do you want to be on the council?

What if any background do you bring to the council that you feel is important?

List three in game references that we can contact about you, not all of which are in your current guild if you are in one.

Dunno thought I'd throw that out there but I think a popularity vote council would be bad for any game when it comes to implementing new ideas.

    ~edit grammar

  12. I like this idea, I think it will promote more exploration and use more parts of the maps that are currently sitting vacant.

Mules are not very used for harvesting. They are more used for instances and arenas.

I don't know about other guilds but our guild actually uses mules a lot. But I would think that they could still be used to a degree since if I'm understanding correctly each "source" has it own limiter. So if an area has 10 silver ores you can harvest from all and either put in one bag or hyper it for the mule.

Anyways I like this idea in theory we'll see how it goes in game if implemented, after all we are still beta .

  13. I might take a stab at this few questions tho:

Do you have a HD version of the EL logo for use? and EL font type? keeps it consistent with game if any text used.

Max res on HD? I can go pretty big but don't want to go over board I can also size and do say 3 diff res. if wanted. Like Download res, you tube res. etc.

Also most previous video I have is of my character (Elf..) Is there anyone willing to get some video of P2P races etc. to show them doing some of these activities? It would have to match initial res. or it would look like crappy compression.

Any words for catch phrases you want in video for advertising purposes? or just K.I.S.S.?

Anyways sounds fun. doing some basic storyboards for a good progression

  14. And are you saying that now, with the mini events, you can't even take your eyes off the screen for a second?

At the rate i was getting just the mini events the other day, not counting any regular events, I was stopped every 25-30 sec. If training on a monster with a CoL and just boxing not using a sword and depending on spawn times, clicking every 1.5-2 min? I can take my eyes off the screen for a second sure.

Umm, that was the gross income, not the net. The net is probably 2/3 of that, depending on your luck, skill, tactics, free spawns, and so on. But obviously a fighter has to work MUCH harder than a harvester, and spend much more money than a harvester, so it seems reasonable for them to be able to get more money at higher levels, no?

I realize that a fighter has to work harder then a harvester, That's fine, but because harvesting is so crucial to the mixing skills, more so then fighting, this change affects those that harvest and mix more. A fighter needs what to lvl? well depending on the lvl a few k HE and a ratio to that in SR's. Most of the time as you pointed out can fund it self through 2/3 of the profit going to supplies, HE, armor etc. But i would argue it is much harder to lvl crafting or manu then it is Fighting because of the massive amounts of materials/time needed. Which is fine i accept that, in fact that's why i choose crafting as a skill everyone said it was the hardest when i started so i set out to be the best. Was it ever "fun" to harvest no, i guess occasionally when the rare stone came my way. But now that has been lowered haven't had one in over 200k harvest, and now mini events happening so fast that i look back at my chat log and instead of seeing messages from friends all i see is a screen of orange pink and green. So posts like the one above tell me that EL is shifting to even more of a A/D based game. That's fine i'll adjust it's just that i kinda liked the slower paced talk to my guild while i harvest and mix life style, it built a nice community imo.

"dusts off aug leather, puts gemstone hammer in sto"

  15. Ok I'm gonna take a shot at this and see if it comes out coherent.

Also, do you do any other skills in El while you surf the web? If not, why do you think you should be able to harvest?
The fighters do MUCH more work than the harvesters, and there is considerably more risk involved. They actually have to be there every second of it (except for PvPing), and they don't complain.
Well, you said you were AFK killing them.

If you weren't AFK while killing yetis, it is not called killing them AFK, no?

I think the break down here is the idea of AFK vs. Semi-AFK. In my experience in EL every skill but ranging can be done in a state of Semi-AFK. Yes including A/D. I can surf the web and watch a movie and still fight. I can surf the web and watch a movie and craft. Yes I have died doing both because I got distracted, but I've also died harvesting to lenny and invasions. But I generally pick places where it's remote or a guildie is close by to help with a db run. Is the risk in harvesting lower? I'd say yes most of the time. But I also heard a few months back about assessing the locations of all harvestables in EL this year(will look for forum link). Perhaps this is a better approach then harvest spam. Value of item should be equal to the difficulty of acquiring that item. And perhaps this would be a good way to address this issue.

A good example of this is Silver, with the removal of silver from Trassian there is now slightly more risk/time involved in acquiring silver. MM mine has invasions and many people and further from sto, Iscalrith has yetis or a longer route. This to me leads to better game play there is a reason the price is going up. It is harder to get. Perhaps this could be used to further discourage gold farming or afk harvesting. Maybe places that have resources that people farm the spawns nearby should have a chance of spawning a invasion type monster. They don't all have to be super strong like the mare, but enough to where it adds slightly more risk Say a Queen Goblin in MM. It's not announced by GIWS and those truly AFK would be caught off guard, perhaps it only targets those AFK(if possible, doubtful tho). To me these kinds of fixes add to the game, they make it more interesting. Being stopped every single min. of harvesting doesn't add much if anything. Being stopped by a sudden attack is much more interesting even having to find a remote place to harvest in a large virtual world is more interesting as it adds to the idea of the world.

In fact, some yeti gold farmers can make up to 300Kgc a day profit.
You can still make 100Kgc a day from fighting not in Hulda, yes?

Really? I mean I've always guessed that higher lvl fighting was more profitable then any mixing skill but that's insane! Not only is it way more XP then any other skill, But that much more gc too? And less time? I don't know about others but to make that much gc crafting/alching/harvesting would take me awhile unless I bought all my ing. from others and then my profit margin is very low, if any at all, so to truly make the same amount would take just as long if I bought from others as if I harvested myself. Which is why the mini events are so annoying to me. They may not add much time at first but over a long period of time they will add up. Projects go from days to weeks and then months.... I do large projects already 10k+ is generally how I think. Doing 10k rings of evtr or glacmor takes alot of harvesting when you make everything from the fe to the final ring.

    1. Slightly reduce the frequency of the mini events

Yes, I am planning to do that.

I so hope that you do or include another method of reducing them medallion or cape available in shop as mentioned before or monthly fee whatever.

  16. Wow.... to be honest when I read all this stuff about mini events I was like oh people flaming again about somethings new as I hadn't had a chance to log in since it had been implemented. So once I did I took a trip down to MM and did a load of silver to see what all the fuss was about.

First time in three years I've felt like turning off EL.

I've tried hard to lvl doing 95% or more of my own harvesting for every thing I do. I understand that harvesting has been "easy" so far, but even if I'm "AFK" harvesting I'm never really that far away either talking to guildies, surfing the web, watching a movie while I harvest whatever... even been lucky enough to harvest at work. There have always been harvest events that broke up the sameness of harvesting and the fact of invasions, and now lenny, even random days like solar flares, and you always have to bring your load back to storage, but this too me seems excessive.

    Orange->pink->green spam FTW!!!

I do remember one click per item manufacturing, and rejoiced when I could make more then one on a single click. I was not here for single click/single item harvest but I pry would have kept moving if EL had been like that when I started. The main thing that attracted me to this game was the open ended nature. Practically no skill lvl cap, and no single line skill set. But in order for anyone to lvl to the upper echelons of the game you have to do masssssssive amounts of harvesting or pay someone to harvest it for you. And reaching the upper lvling is what keeps me motivated to play, and seems encouraged, leader boards, high lvl items, if one is to compete one must harvest, but if harvesting becomes a nuisance the the "fun" is gone from any skill that relies on it.

To me what this new process leads to is not a fix on gold farming or "afk" harvesting but a switch in game play. It will no longer be profitable for me or fun to harvest on my own, rather I will have to go monster raping, tie up spawns for a few hours and take the gc to invest it into someone who likes a rainbow colored screen of text or someone who figures out a macro.(which I do not condone nor would I like to support but I won't know who does this and if they are selling at the lowest rate and I need ing. I will buy)

Fixes? well I would live with a lower rate, or I would seriously pay for a perk that either reduced or removed the mini events even 200k or a monthly amount of gc to an NPC would be acceptable to me. 10-20k a month to have no mini events, sounds extreme to some but I would do it, it would save me from epileptic seizures from the flashing colored text. Or a med. or harvester cape of no events(both positive say no stones or xp etc. and no neg.) the cape could be expensive or possibly a new tailoring item harvesters cape and a NMT or something idk anything to slow the rate down.......
