  1. Yeah Zarin, Funny story. My wife wanted me to come up with a middle name she liked so i was listing some off and started running out of ideas. So I said Zarin and she really liked it. So my daughter is named after the Crafting goddess :P good thing I'm top 20 :)

  2. However, from a RP perspective, it's not quite right, is it? I would have used the word 'realistic', but I'm sure some people would be only to quick to remind me that this is a game.

How does it not fit into a RP perspective?

RP: Citizens of Draia have pooled their riches and sacrificed them to the gods for a blessing and revived a stone to alter the magic around one day.

If anything it sounds pretty good toward add more role-playing and team work to the game. But I may be biased as I've always been for things like this or guild quests/guild god blessings.

  3. Interesting idea but as most days also have to have a neg. day related to them:

    Day of Poison

Shrooms, fruit, veggies, and bones poison you every time you eat one.

Roleplaying: Acid rain from gnome factories has caused plants and animals to become temporarily toxic.

Would make cooked meat and fp's popular for a day ;)

  4. Ok to start off the picture below does not reference my graphical skillz as i made it in 10 min in photoshop lol.

That being said i've always wanted to work on an optional second user interface for EL, I think that the one right now is fine but there are a lot of people that are more graphically oriented and it might be nice to have a second option so here it is:

    GUI.jpg

Basically this one take the whole bottom bar and combines it into a small area in the corner, Mine is obviously not perfect but i would be willing to help with designing it and making it user friendly. I think if the same can be done with the top corner for spells and inv. stuff.

Anyways 2 cents and all that

  5. Also I would make it required that any transfer recipient (changing the owner) of a guild also meet these requirements.

A guild leader should be experienced and able to run a guild and guide (one way or another) his members.

I agree with alot of what has been posted in the thread as far as making it more expensive as well as name change costs etc. but this one is kinda hard for me.

Our guild has a council run by multiple people to help with guild longevity. As such we have a secondary player at guild rank 20 with very low skills that a few of the top leaders in the guild have access to. I know this wouldn't work for all guilds and many guilds are built around a single leader but it has worked for our guild for 4 years now.

So while I agree that the creator(s) of the guild should have higher stats the transfer issue is kinda a grey area for me.

Side note: Some guilds also set up a trade bot or storage bot(most likely with low skill stats) with guild rank 19 or 20 to allow kicking and accepting members for pvp purposes as EL has no way for members of the same guild to safely train together. An addition of a guild map guild only pvp arena where members of the same guild can train would be a great boost if it's possible.

  6. Out of curiosity, how is loot sharing in party systems in other mmo's done?

Depends on the game, but a few i've seen if you are in a party you have to be within a certain radius of the party. Then any monsters you kill the drops are split up among the party members as determined by the server. I've even seen it where it announces in your team chat what each person gets ie:

Raytray gets a steel two edge

    Aislinn gets 200 gc

    etc.

one problem I've seen with this is it defiantly sets a game value for everydropped item.

Some also split the XP earned but those are games that you only get xp for the monster once you've killed it which is different then the system in EL.

Party system in EL would be interesting but i'm not sure how it would really work, would be nice if interguild players summons didn't attack team members in pk areas.

  7. You have been fighting a hard monster and got it down to about 10-20 health and a ranger thats been sitting there waiting or just walked by grabs an arrow and kills the monster you are fighting and gets the drops and off he goes, one arrow one kill and what ever loot the monster dropped..

Or a team of fighters are killing some uber monster in an invasion and when it's almost dead a ranger comes in kills it with an arrow and gets the loot and walks away leaving a team of fighters thats been kicking it for a while spending HEs SRs and what not to kill it empty handed.

Or just a poor newbie thats out trying to get some bones and meat and up comes someone thats training ranging and starts shoting the things the newbie is chasing to kill.

I can see alot of pissed off people if the gatherer for ranger got implemented as it is now if you are in an invasion fighting the creatures you can wear the gatherer medallion and get all the drops yourself if not you will risk that somone pops in and grabs the bags while you are fighting but you got that choise you can make.

When it comes to ranging you are at a distant while you are shoting so for you to get the loot in your inventory after the kill would need some high lvl magic gods intervention and shitloads of GC to pay the mad man for biting your foot

I don't think you understand how the drop system works when your fighting in a group in EL. Generally the person that does the most damage to the creature is the one that ends up walking onto or in this case gathering the bag......not someone who walks up and shoots/knocks the last health off. At least this has been my experience in Instances I could be wrong.

  8. of course, armor, clothes, and monsters/creatures are fun

I also like the idea of monuments, there have been wars and battles in some of the el histories and societies tend to create things related to those major events.

Also it may be to big of an idea but i would love to see seasonal changes in the maps dunno if that's possible but like spring, summer, fall and winter variants on some maps, depending on their locations on Draia they my not change at all but some maps would.

  9. The EXP reward will actually be a/d not manu.

Yeah if this is the case the stick with things that are monster drops that can also be lower/mid manu and not cheaply bought from an NPC, that way once the A/D people run out of stock in their sto they can buy them from Manuers or bots for the quest creating more of a market for the common items and incentive for manuers to make a some for the quests give a little xp along the way.

So these are monster and makeable:

    Iron sword

    Iron Broad

    Steel long

    Steel two edge

    Ti Short

    Leather helm

    Iron Helm

    Steel Chain

    Iron Shield

    Leather Pants

    Leather Boots

These are nice but easy from NPC:

    Padded leather

    Iron Chain

These are nice but not monster drops(but if you want to spur some manu in EL might be good occasional quest items):

    Steel Shield

    Aug Leather torso

    Aug leather pants

    Iron Axe

    Steel Axe

Yes i put the steel long and s2e in there, there is already a market for them so they are available and monster drops so i see no problem in them being a quest item as well.

    my 2 cents

  10. Rats might be accurate at least the place we are staying at when translated into English means Chateau of the Rats....lol Haven't seen any here yet but maybe they just come out when i'm asleep :lurker: Anyways it sounds much better when you say it in French :o

Got on el earlier and made it through my daily quests and some mixing before the mouse started acting up maybe it just needs to be broke in with some good ole fashioned fire ess making

And yeah i thought about traveling around here and bugging all the LotS members i could make it to, but then money starts to add up. oh well back to haggling with the airlines to find me an earlier flight.

Oh and earlier i made this awesome map of europe in it current state with my massive MS paint skills, since i don't have Photoshop on the laptop this was the next big thing:

    europe.jpg

As Roja might say the map may not be entirely accurate as it was made by gnomes.......i use them to power the computer.

  11. yeah been to Amsterdam, and Brugge, Zeebrugge, Namur, Luxembourg, and some misc. places in northern France :( drove trough Antwerp on the way to Amsterdam we'll see maybe I'll go back there. :)

Might try EL later today but the mouse i have with this laptop just isn't working properly lol

  12. First: Buy a big book of manu XD

Second: Basically for me it all this stuff boils down to:

School is twice to three times as fast(time wise) as Tirk depending on your emu imo, I feel that this means you can get manu training out of the way and then focus on other things thus making your gc back faster. Your going to loose it slowly to Tirk anyways. It is hard for many to see past the idea of losing the gc all at once vs. losing it slowly over time, we are wired that was as humans, big investments/risks make us nervous/afraid in real life and that transfers into games(not just mmo's).

But like others have said try both decide what you like, try again when you have a larger emu if you have a small one now and defiantly have some ingredients stored up for 3x school day.

  13. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

These are the rights we have. The biggest problem I have with Obamacare is the fact that we do not have the right to healthcare. We have the right to purse personal healthcare as part of our pursuit of happiness and life, but it is not a right. Once we start claiming that we do have the right to healthcare that means we are claiming that we have the right to part of someone else's life....

Doctors, nurses, etc. all go to school and spend money and time to become trained enough to treat you properly. Now we are starting down the path of forcing them to treat who the government says they can or cannot treat, charge what the government decides they should charge, be located where the government decides they should be located, have hours the government wants them to have and on and on.

This means we as a people are claiming the right to part of that doctors life....kinda like a paid slavery. Sure they can leave and go do something else(for now) and I think you will see many of them do just that in the next few years, they are smart enough to know when they are about to be royally shafted. Many of them will pry move their practice to elsewhere, then they can charge what they please and work on their own time schedule.

And what about you personally? Very soon you will see that you can't just go to the doctor you'd like to, you'll have to go to the doctor chosen for you by the government. So the nice doctor you've had for the last 20 years will call you up one day and say sorry you now have to go to doctor quaky down the street, I've been told I can only do your friends on this side of town. Oh and by the way that new medicine we put you on well the government has decided it's to expensive and they can't give it to everyone so you can't get it anymore even though it's the only thing that has worked for you. Oh and p.s. the government now has a rating system and since your older and don't "contribute" to bring in more taxes for them well your not as important now you'll have to wait longer for all your treatments the 20 yr old next door needs it more then you do.........they have more taxable years ahead of them.

    just some thoughts....repeal this bill!!!!!!!!!!

  14. A. The combat system is odd.

    B. Losing my newly obtained weapon and armor in a matter of minutes is frustrating!

As to the first one I've always wondered why people say this, perhaps I train differently but I have found I can train on slightly higher monsters with a sword or other weapon and get more XP/hr then I would on one at my lvl with out a sword. It is slightly more dangerous but isn't that the purpose of fighting with a sword trying to get something that is harder to kill then you are?

Second point I have heard from many, many newbies that have come through my guild and eventually gone inactive. Perhaps we could consider making leather/aug leather armor non-droppable or at the very least a very low chance if it's equipped on the person. If it's just in the inventory i say drop it randomly as normal. And possibly wooden/enhanced shield and iron sword/staff. Whatever the base or lower level fighting items are if they are equipped on a player they don't drop, at least until you reach a certain a/d lvl or OA.

That being said they would need to understand that higher lvl armor/weapons come with the risk of dropping once they move to those categories, and they should still break at the same rate as that needs to still happen imo.

And a point I think needs addressed with newer players is:

    Learning Magic

Some quest or tutorial to learn magic I think is needed badly. It's one of the most mis-understood skills I've had with new players I've helped train. I think a good magic tutorial(in-game) will help with:

    1. Less dropping of items in training if they understand how to heal properly

    2. Better understanding of combat system early on

    3. Less frustration when they reach the point of dieing and spawning in the underworld

    4. Helps new players get through the first few lvls quickly so they have less fail sooner(less initial grind)

Just teach the first few spells like heal, remote heal, and shield or it could be like the Novac quest and be over time with learning magic as you go through the game.

Perhaps there is now I've tried to keep up with all the quests coming in-game but I haven't heard of anything along these lines yet.

I could perhaps help come up with a quest if developers are interested as I've helped a few people develop this skill in the past.
