  1. Ranged Kills

As a part time summoner, i will grab any db's laying around, but never when i know a ranger has done the work. But, as said before, often I may not see the ranger. There is also times I am training and a wounded mob shows up, having wondered off from the rangers position, at which time I kill it. If a ranger see's me getting a bag that they think is their's, just give me shout and I will leave it, or maybe even bring it to you. I have also, many times, allowed rangers to shoot at the DC's I am training on, just because I like the way it looks, lol. IMO, communication is the key.
  2. KF o:

The Linor is fun now as well. . Idk what was said in ch6 last night, but I am happy with the way things are. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
  3. Guess the player name!

    Cool. Someone else can go.
  4. Manufacturing strike!

Maybe so, but I still see many great swords at the same price they were 3 weeks ago.
  5. Or Molotov Cocktail.
  6. Hopping on to the next guild

You'd be surprised to see how much like normal human beings the EL mods are. I've even caught one swearing sometime, and, hold on to your seats for this one people, they tend to make jokes too. At least a part of the mods ingame are some of the people giving the least bs of all people in game. If you want straightforward.. might be time to give it a go nonetheless ^^ Dilly I know a certain mod that is hilarious, and has great taste in music as well. I am not sure, but s/he may be an actual human.
  7. Serping spawns

Either I totally misunderstand your post, or you really need to get out of that iron cave and walk around a little.
  8. kf drop ?

I guess the lesson here is: if you are going to invest a LARGE amount of gc into your armor, but are so afraid to use it that you will do #suicide rather than get hit, then you might want to leave it in your sto.
  9. Coordination in Invasions

I am glad that you found a solution that works for you. Even considering, if i log on i usually type #IL to check and if i see even 5 monsters I go to the invasion channel. Don't complain because you dont' take initiative to keep your items/rostos safe. I agree, I always expect invasion when I log on, and I also try to log off ready, either equipped or in a house. A little forward thinking is all it takes.
  10. Manufacturing strike!

Tyvm Con, no one has mentioned that fighters had to adjust what they do due to smaller drops, so we have less gc to spend. I never really get how you compare el economics with rl economics, the dynamics that drives the two economies are soooo very different. I don't think i will pay 30k for a great sword, not when i can get it made for ings. Besides, it is not like I need to buy 1 every week, or month for that matter.
  11. Manufacturing strike!

Maybe Radu will cap the number of rare stones that some one can keep in their sto. Prob the only way to force hoarders to sell them.
  12. Manufacturing strike!

Gilrain, I said I sell at market price. The reason that you can't lower ings price is greed? Do you not think that greed will not also doom this strike? There are prob too many of these items already on the market to force higher prices. Why wouldn't a manu'er concentrate on making gc through items that have to be re-stocked more often, i.e., aug sets, he, sr, etc. ? You could harv your own ings, so it is pure profit. The basic problem is that manu'ers will pay top gc for the rare item ings, as it is the only way to get them in. I firmly agree that manu should be profitable, but not all items will be that way. Why wait for item prices to hit the "npc ceiling"? Why not work to lower ing prices now, if harvers keep raising prices, you will have to eventually. Oh, I don't sell iron ore, I have far better ways of making gc.
  13. Manufacturing strike!

I agree with what a few others have stated, band together to force lower ing prices. When I find a rare stone, or a mob drops an enriched essence, I usually sale at the market rate. If that rate was half the price it is now, guess what, that's the price I would sell it for. Raw ings is the base of the market, it controls the price of everything else above it on the chain. The problem is, there is a way around the increased price for many players, just get the ings and have a high manu friend make it for you.
  14. Isnt this a bit overpowered?

Nathan, everyone knows you have pk envy. Why else would you feel the need to show up in every pk thread. If you would stfu, maybe people would not enjoy attacking you so much. Back to topic. I agree with you Korr, as I am a single father of 3, who lives a middle class life style, at best. However, I know that even if these armors were removed from the game, people who choose to pour rl money into the game will find new advantages. I guess I gave up on changing the worlds "monetary inequities" long ago, now I have learned to enjoy the few moments when i get to stick it to the rich folks.
  15. Isnt this a bit overpowered?

I see both sides of this point, so not going to comment either way really. I will make this general statement tho, in both EL and RL, whoever has more money, will usually have an advantage, or in this case, whoever is willing to invest more in the game. That has not changed in 3 thousand years, and probably won't anytime soon.
  16. We are accepting mature players who level any skill. Relaxed PK rules, any levels allowed. Adult players only and no troublemakers allowed. PM Norm, Shar_kael, or Tundrus if you are interested.
  17. Removal Stones - where did you find one?

    Ummm, maybe mm silver ?
  18. Removal Stones - where did you find one?

I found an animal removal in the white chantral next to ladder to mt of sorrow in SRM. Also found a magic removal stone in the SRM coal mine some time ago.
  19. What makes Eternal Lands unique?

I agree with Dilly. I have a busy RL and find EL gives me a real nice break from that. Probably a combination of things that keep me coming back: my goals have not been met, a great community including many friends, a lot of things I have yet to try, the combat system, and time invested already. I also enjoy the access to game designers, and the ability to offer intelligent feedback ( and other types of feedback ). In all, a friend introduced me to this game over 3 years ago, and I keep coming back. I guess that says it all.
  20. How Did You Get Your EL Name?

My last name is Norman, and my favorite sports team is the Alabama Crimson Tide, hence, Normtide was born. It's always available as a member name everywhere I have tried. In EL, it was eventually shorted to Norm.
  21. Players using good gear on low creatures ?

Anything I train on, I use aug leather, steel shield and a bone or fists. I do like to go kill mobs above my training levels as well, then i will suit up in my tit armor, and use my os. I really don't mind healing more often, as it gives more magic exp, and carry capacity is not a prob. I guess it's just a style thing, which is why I love this game.
  22. BroD - beware !

I love it when people threaten to use brod, especially when they obviously have no experience with one. They are not easy to hit with, and as long as i have red cape, idc if you use it, makes it easier for me to kill you. Most will prob see this as a challenge, so good luck.
  23. Question about the economy

This will prob not help in any way, but here is the difference between the rl economy and the el economy, for me and my character. First of all, in el, I have no family to feed and no bills to pay. If I want to, I can spend gc just as fast as I make it, or I can horde it, not spending anything, harving iron to sell, and only buy picks from time to time. Second, I often give away items for free, to guildies, friends, or even to new players. It's the "pixel effect" if you will. Third, there is really no labor cost in el, much unlike rl. I myself have never really understood why some items are worth less then the ings, does not make sense to me. Final thought- I have no problem with shop items in game, if I spent as much time and effort on this game as Radu does, I would expect some kind of compensation. While being "teh god" does have a number of perks, I doubt the grocery store gives a shit about them, nor will they accept them for barter. ROLL TIDE
  24. Count me in. In-game name- Norm Male in rl and el. ROLL TIDE
