  1. Players should be able to be offline as a new game hour begins and have their harvesting exp limit reset. It's really annoying to reach the limit one hour, quit the game, start the game, and find that my harvest exp is static... Thanks, frazierj

    Do you have the pre rc 10 data installed properly? Did you compile your own client? Yes, to both. I unzipped the data .zip into my data_dir. I compile from CVS checked out about 2 days ago. See the programming forum for the compile options, or use the provided client. Thanks, I see I needed the MISSILES option.

    UVP 1 When I play on the test server, I don't see any characters. My data_dir is the same in both ~/.elc/main/el.ini and ~/.elc/test/el.ini, so I don't know what's going on...
  8. I was helping mule sulfur for some newer players. When I got to the storage, I tried to trade 240 sulfur to one of the players. The sulfur was in my inventory, and the trade failed because the player couldn't hold the items. I found that I had to put it in my storage before trading... I think that if the recipient is close enough to the storage NPC, received items too heavy to carry should go to the storage, regardless of their status with the giver.

    Ok, I did 'locate libcal' and saw libcal3d.so.12 in the /usr/local/lib directory...a symbolic link to /usr/lib now lets the binary run. It's a bit of a hack, but I don't know the "correct" way to fix it, and it works. Time to enjoy the new client. Thanks to everyone for their help. I'll post back if I have yet more problems...

    Wow, thanks! I don't know quite as much as I thought, it seems.     Being fairly familiar with the "configure, make, make install" way of doing things, I thought I installed it correctly...I tried Gampa's suggestion and got this when I did "aptitude install libcal3d12": The following packages are BROKEN: libcal3d12 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 46 not upgraded. Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used. The following packages have unmet dependencies: libcal3d12: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.7-1) but 2.3.6.ds1-13etch4 is installed. Depends: libgcc1 (>= 1:4.2.1) but 1:4.1.1-21 is installed. Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 4.2.1) but 4.1.1-21 is installed. Resolving dependencies... The following actions will resolve these dependencies: Remove the following packages: libcal3d12 libcal3d12-dev Score is -10652 It appears that unpacking makes aptitude think they are already installed, or something like that. Anyway, did you, Gampa, run into these dependency problems? If so, how did you fix them? Thanks.

    For a while I had the suspicion that my hair was dark blue. After discovering the .elc/custom/player/*/meshes and the elc/meshes directories, I decided to fire up GIMP and see for myself. It turns out converting the hair_black.bmp to grayscale and placing it in my custom meshes directory looks much better. Why is the black hair slightly blue?

    Not sure why elglext.h is being used. If you replaced /usr/include/GL/glext.h with the newer file, you shouldn't need to modify the code and include elglext.h to get the compile to work. At least on Linux... *bump* I'm still having this problem, does anyone know why? I really would like to be able to enjoy the features of the cvs version...

    You need a newer glext.h file, have a look at this Mantis bug report. There is also a long thread on CVS errors which has covered this recently.
