  1. GeForce 7200GS linux

Many thanks ! That link solved as workaround, even if would be fine if the developers can update the client to work with the latest nvidia driver. Angelo
  2. GeForce 7200GS linux

I'm using Linux version 2.6.22-3-686 (Debian 2.6.22-6) (maks@debian.org) (gcc version 4.1.3 20071019 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-17)) #1 SMP Mon Nov 12 08:32:57 UTC 2007 I'm using the nvidia linux driver Version: 169.07 Released: 20.12.2007 I really would like to try the omega driver, but is windows only. Maybe this latest driver have something too new. I've done the following tests: i have installed the previous driver 169-04, nothing change I've downloaded EL sources and compiled them. The binary get locked at the same level, "initializing OpenGL extensions" 95 % cpu.
  3. GeForce 7200GS linux

Hello all, i've just installed the graphic card with the latest driver for linux. KDE works fine, GL screensavers are working. When i start el, i get the game paralized at first start, "Initializing OpenGL extensions" with 98% cpu. On the xorg.conf, nvidia driver script have left only Load "glx". Load "dri" and Load "GLCore" have been removed from the script. Hope in some help. Thanks, Angel, ELIT
  4. Server communication trouble

ok, seems you've have found the point: on test server port (2001) everithing work. also, in troubleshooting guide there was: and is true, on port 2000 i am in the online page. My little office cisco router shouldn't have any restriction, so probably restriction rules are applied on the main router of this industrial center ISP that give the network connection to us. My question is, for what misterious reason theISP router block traffic thath go to/come from port 2000 and not on 2001 ? Is it a some kind of well-known port they could block for security issues ? 5. Server communication trouble

no, i don't think since all services as defender/firewall etc are disabled, and all the apps works, except EL. I've done some test reenabling them, authorizing EL application on the firewall, nothing change. There is a log, that could be of interest: Log started at 2007-11-15 15:48:39 localtime (ora solare Europa occidentale) [15:48:40] Error: Can't open file "quest.log" [15:48:40] * server www.eternal-lands.com filename http://www.eternal-lands.com/updates140/files.lst [15:48:40] Downloading http://www.eternal-lands.com/updates140/files.lst from www.eternal-lands.com [15:48:40] Error: Can't open file "commands.lst" [15:48:40] * server www.eternal-lands.com filename http://www.eternal-lands.com/updates/custom_files.lst [15:48:40] Downloading http://www.eternal-lands.com/updates/custom_files.lst from www.eternal-lands.com [15:48:46] Client closed Since the connection is established, but server don't respond to the version packet, Is there any situation where the server don't respond ?
  6. Server communication trouble

no, from 10 years i don't use any antivirus. I prefer a fast pc, and the risk of virus. I do an online scan sometime.
  7. Server communication trouble

hi all, since i'm working from some days on a powerful machine, i've downloaded the el client 1.4 for windows. Core 2 Quad 4 G ram GE Force 8800 gtx M$ Vista My trouble is very similar to the uresolved http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37664 thread. I've try to analize the problem in details: I can connect to the server (SYN->SYN+ACK received), but after the client send the first 20 bytes version string, i get the ACK, but no other reponses following from the server. Same behaviour is trying to send bytes with telnet on port 2000, i get the connection, but after some bytes are sent, i don't receive anything back (should receive the game welcome). Version bytes sent in the packet are padded to 23, in order: 0a 0f 00 0a 00 12 00 01 04 00 00 3e 5d e1 2f 07 d0 09 01 00 0e 01 00 I'm behind a router, but there are no restrictions on any port, and as you can see, the socket connection is established. If necessary, i've the packet sniffer log saved. If any help, thanks, angelo (game user: angel, ELIT)
