I personally would love to see a SSlessar spawn.. they are amazing range exp.. oddly enough higher range exp then yeti's or acw's their drops can be bad or none at all if you want although personally I think they should have a small chance of dropping a serpent stone.. prolly = to male orc chance to drop serp stone?

Well as most knew... Lamorian and I was having a baby.. well the baby was born on February 17th.. she was born 2 weeks early! But she is fine was just a tiny baby weighed 5 pounds and 13 ounces. Lamorian and I couldn't be happoier having a baby is a life changing situation... those of you who have kids already would understand.. you think you know what love is but you don't have a clue until you have a baby and hold it for the first time.. it's amazing..!!

Do I PK? No way lol.. I have a 32/32 a/d so I certainly could't PK.. well I have killed the ants in KF a lot.. but who hasn't lol.. but no I don't PK cuz I prefer to make essences and leveling my harvest and alch levels. I have nothing against PKers at all I am fiends with lots of PKers it's just alchemy is my thing lol. So obviously I voted never cuz even though I've killed the ants in KF it's been about 2 months or so.

I searched around a bit and didn't find anything related to my problem so if there was another topic already started I am sorry.. but I just downloaded the 1.60 update and now EL wont open in general.. what happens is when I open EL it starts loading and then it stops and gives me an oppurtunity to send an error report... I sent as report for the heck of it lol.. Ok... I went into the el.ini and set it to poor man and it didn't help which I knew it wouldn't help cuz I didn't even get to the log in screen... as it's loading when I open EL it kinda just sets there for maybe 5 seconds then askes me to send an error report.. I tried updating my graphic card but I think it was the same thing that it didn't update... my graphic card is a ATI radeon xpress 200 series... driver version 8.17.0.0 and I am not sure if there is an update for that one..? I've looked but can't find one.. I mean if it's not the graphic card what could it be? I know it's not the computer... it worked fine until the recent update and I don't think the update really was a big one.. so I am not sure why it wont work. Edited to say: Nevermind I fixed it... I am not sure what fixed it... it was either when I contacted ati radeon about updating it and found the right update for it or downloading the .net platform 3.5 but everything works good again.

Well I set the path directory right... I took the last \ out and still wont work.. I don't think it would need a driver update though.. cuz it was working fine until the new update? But I can give it a try.... although that link heads to a laptop driver update I am on a desktop

I think I have found the problem but I am not sure... it's not loading and claiming it's the data_dir... it's supposed to be set to c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\ but it is set to d:\Eternal Lands which I am sure is wrong... but I tried setting it to c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\ but it still didn't work so I am guessing that there is more to c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\ then what it says but I am not sure what is supposed to be added to it.. >.<

I looked around and there was no new topics asking if the server was down so I am going to ask here.. is the server down or is the max amount of people allowed on logged on? Because I tried connecting to the game it tells me I can't connect to the server I checked my error log and it didn't post any new errors their all the same as when I was playing yesrerday so I am guessing nothing new happens just maybe el crashed or new update attracted more people or somehting? lol

Yeah the major new update I had to throw my old pc away and buy a new one and I downloaded the new EL update yesterday and el client was working fine all day yesterday so I guess it is something to do with my computer.. >.<

Well I couldn't fix the problem on the windows ME... couldn't get it to install windows xp so I said the heck with it and tossed out the old computer and just bought a new one and now EL works fine and wow awesome update characters are more realistic but thanks to EVERYONE who tried to help I appreciate the time and effort you guys put into trying to help.

any help at all will be appreciated.

Ok.. I refomatted my computer and manually installed all drivers and el still wont work.. guess I'll try a couple more things..

Also in my el.ini folder it is saying server port 2001.. that is the test server but when I log on I can see bots posting in market right before it crashes so I know it's logging onto port 2000.. also I did a search on my computer for the moon_bubbles and my spells .dat and the search showed no results.. not sure if that helps at all... and last night I updated my graphics card and sound card and got a few other updates and nothing seems to help.. I want to wait and see if anyone knows how I may go about fixing those issues.. if not then it looks as if I will try reformatting my computer and reinstalling all the drivers.. maybe I missed a driver somewhere? I dunno.. >.< but it's aggravating I can't get on and give my 2 bots stuff to sell or get the stuff off the bots that they bought for me rofl.. all I can do is view them from Learners site.. xD New errors.. Last time I bought a xp disc I tried upgrading to xp but it kept skipping some things and freezing so I ended up reformatting and putting windows ME back on it so not sure.. maybe there is just some random drivers needed updated? Because my OEM which is gateway offers 1,000's of drivers just not exactly sure what I would need to update >.< oh and those errors when you go to the link they appear to be french and I don't know french so I have no clue what to do lol. Yeah just disabled sound and music set it to poor man and I am still crashing as soon as it loads up. I guess Win 98 and Win ME share the sound attributes that make EL crash. But now that sound and stuff is gone something else is making it crash. Speaking of sounds I just recently downloaded the sounds thing entropy posted in the begining of this topic. And it is a zip folder so when I try to extract all it syas nothing to extract.. so it looks like a empty zip folder.. a 30 some mb empty foler lol. But how do I disable sound and music before el opens? Because el closes before I can do anything even does it when I try to create a character.

I checked the location in the el.ini file and it states #data_dir = "C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands" and the program files is exactly where I told it to download so I don't think that could be the problem could it? Possibly the new update isn't compatible with Windows ME? I mean it worked up until this update which the update didn't seem to huge so I know for a fact memory isn't an issue or space because I still have 16.8 GB's free so space isn't an issue and I have 87 % memory available I am not using anywhere near the max of either.. so I am not sure what could be the problem
