  1. For a newbie its not stupidity, its those knowledgeable players taken advantage of those who are new.

    Scamming newbies is forbidden.

Also some of the most used scamming ways have been already made impossible to use, for example total war (that was complete stupidity if you actually typed the combatant command without even hesitating to check what it does), MM battle hall PK rooms etc.

  2. To radu, and points are replied to in order (limit on number of quotes i can use :)

Scamming loses players, and other MMOs obviously you think that it doesnt lose enough players to be worth the effort to enforce.

It also keeps pretty many players in game. I think one of the greatest things in EL is that it doesn't nanny players. In other games it's fucking annoying that you have to be "nice and polite" etc. Personally I love the possibility to be a criminal that everyone hates, even I don't use that possibilty myself, at least for now. If you get scammed, it's mostly your own stupidity. There's no point in forbidding in game scamming, since it's pretty essential part of the game.

What comes to RL money scamming, I don't accept that myself, but it's the risk people take when using black market. I got scammed myself when selling my ex-char I can't blame anyone else than myself from it.

  3. Anyway I remember there was some "old" player sitting at IP while I was a nawb and he was having some chat with me. It wasn't even really real advice to game, rather just general chit chat. It somehow made me a great impact that someone was actually talking to such a starter as me.I'm really sorry I don't remember who it was, he was still playing while I was playing more actively myself as a "more pro". Maybe someone from {FD} guild or something. Anyway he looked like a pro with his full iron set etc. :P

Personally I think we should communicate more with new players, even if you just talk to them, they feel like they're welcome in the game. It's not that easy to get into some mass game like WoW etc. In EL you are really able to feel you're welcome here if the more experienced players actually welcomed them.

  4. And its the mixers that tend to notbuy from shop, thats why their mixers. Their making the money that you bought off shop. Personallly, i would love rostos to dip in price, as that is main reason why lower levels dont do anything thats fun.

Actually mixers buy pretty much from shop, binding stones etc.

As soon as you offer an item that is membership only, or area, then you alienate the populance of the game that cannot afford to pay you. And you also have to make sure that areas and membership items are balanced so their not unfair on those who cant use/buy them, since they are not a member. And we haven't got balanced great swords, so excuse me for assuming a member only inclusion in the game would increase the inbalance in game.

Iirc radu said gold buyers and sellers caused inflation...and this happens.

Lowering rosto prices for members would cause their price to drop ingame too. It might not go back to where it was few years ago, but 20-30k drop in price might be possible.

  5. I'm pretty sure you mean all the active players who already spend tonnes on shop. those that rarely buy from shop, or those that are left in lower brackets wont. Cheap rostos would be blessing, though i doubt that'll happen again, since the entire games populance mindset has evolved, and is different to thtat of years past.

    I voted no, btw.

I found the original thread and actually most of the players that had voted there said they'd buy the gold membership. Most doesn't equal to all :P Anyway original idea included benefits to non fighters too, so it wouldn't be just fighters that buy the membership. I believe anyone can afford 5 or 10 $ price per month. No one has ever said paying the monthly fee in WoW is a problem, but when it comes to some free game where you'd volutarily pay and get some benefits, then it's like buying a new car.

  6. I'd love to see the monthly voluntary fee added and by paying that you'd get rostos for cheaper and maybe some extra bonuses too. Let's say 5 or even 10 $ per month and after that you'd get rostos for 1 or 2 $. Imo that would make rostomarket more healthy and I believe most of the active players would pay the fee every month -> regular income.

There was this gold membership suggestion by radu a few years ago, I wonder why it never happened? I don't even remember what was included in it, but with those bonuses and cheaper rostos I believe it would be good change for keeping players active.

  7. it sounds like youre contradicting yourself to me and im really not following lol

I don't really understand what you mean by this. But surely the biggest reason for people taking part to auction is the will to support the game, otherwise it's much easier, faster and most probable cheaper to buy from black market.

  8. so if there's more supply then demand why would everyone participate 5 times a month spending around 100 bucks each time for the auctions?

To assist the game? If they really wanted to have the best gc/$ ratio it would be really easy to buy 2M from black market.

  9. Sure there's more than 10M gold moving at month unofficial ways. I bet it's something between 10-20M per month.

Edit: Even on unofficial forums there's usually more supply than demand. And there surely is people who buy straight from few sellers without announcing it anywhere.

  10. gold could just increase the values of hydro bars and nexus removals. also could create more spam on market looking for those items i mentioned above because of the abundance of gold to buy it.

at least with items, players can use or manufacture needed items or sell the items on the market filling some of the void of such popular items like i listed above.. making the market happier with a huge supply of he being sold say.. and making the hydro bar buyer work a little to make the gold to buy them. its win win

Nope, rich players buy gold anyway so I don't believe the price of those good will rise any higher because of this. Especially hydro bars since NPC price controls it, they would be over 15k already otherwise, I think.

  11. +10 mag damage would be justifiable imo. Iirc BDS costs 110k and rad rapier about 160k? Rad rapier gives +15 rad damage and BDS only +5 magic damage, so according to those numbers, BDS is overpriced or underpowered. I think it would be better to raise the mag damage to 10, since dropping the price is bit harder.

  12. Well you can't really forbid the fact that most players that actually need an NMT already have one. Added that there's not many new players leveling, it will be some kind of problem in near future.

To be honest lack of newbie creates WAY bigger issues than NMTs. Effectively brings on the death of the game.

Indeed it is, but it seems this problem isn't going to get solved in near future anyway.

Anyway, i agree with Wizzy, attack those issues and oh so many more before going onto the nmt debate.

And if you know about the much more pressing needs, why didnt you suggest a fix for them in a thread instead of suggesting a solution to a problem that isnt really that pressing at the moment?

Because this wasn't all about NMT's, how many times do I have to say it? I got the quest idea first, then started thinking what you should actually do to get the perk. At that point I got the NMT idea.

+ There's been loads of suggestions about fixing more pressing matters so I don't see point in suggesting them again.

You were the one that brought up the GC issue with the NMTs in this thread which made ppl react to that more then your suggestion, I already said I thought about the suggestion but my first reaction was to address the GC post and not the suggestion. Getting NMTs out of the game by using them in a quest should give more then what you suggested since they are kinda expencive and there for not many would be able to do the "quest" not want to do it either - at least that's what I think.. And Yeah I still can't use my Enter button here on this forums so can't make new rows :P

Yeah I intentionally brought the NMT thing up, since it was part of my suggestion of course. It's only that it's not all about it, even if I named the thread to "penis" and just mentioned NMTs here, it would be same kind of ranting anyway :P Secondly people surely would be willing to do the quest, just think how expensive all breaking quests are. Newbs aren't really able to do those quests either because the costs is so high, I woudn't see that kind of quest being too expensive.

  14. NMTs aren't that easy to get. When I was looking for one, I spent week advertising on ch3 to buy off player. After not getting a PM for one (offered 400kgc), eventually gave up and bought the only one that was on a bot. That was earlier this year. :)

NMT is fine imo, solve the problem with the virtuously pointless Warlock Cape and Enchanted Swords.

    My 2 pence

Atm there's 7 NMTs even on bots (I think they have been there for few weeks already) and I've seen at least 2 people selling them on market too.

You always see a flurry of nmt sales when topics like this get posted.... People speculating, it has happened like this in the past too.

  16. Can't quote from my phone but to lighten the mood. Not everything else is el breaks. My damn ti set for example

    :D

Anyway I agree with wizzy, lower level people get excited when they do an invasion and get a "rare" drop. Then they do a price check such as fr removal.... Talk about a let down to them. Many things don't have a use in game. Why not suggest a quest using them ?

    Great idea!

  17. As for mixers whining, check market prices for ingredients for the high level stuff and compare to NPC prices (where possible). Exemple:

jagged sabre: NPC price 40k, ingredients value ~45k (estimated, probably low, using 23k gc for binding stone, and 11000 for wolfram bar,

and ignore the remaining ings; same pricing for all great swords). And for the items where NPC price is higher than ings cost, the differences

are getting smaller all the time, afaik. Increasing demand for armours and weapons won't change that aspect in the least: everyone who is able

to, will buy from NPC, and the others (anti-social perk) ask friends or use bots.

I agree with this point, ingredient's prices have gone too high. Of course that should be solved first and it's much bigger problem than the one with NMT at this moment.

Btw, you do seem to agree that the increase in price was due to a (temporary) change in market demand. Now all those new players have

their NMT cape, so prices go down again. No reason to artificially modify anything. And your suggestion hear only concerns NMT...

Of course it was. But at this moment the price is going down because there isn't practically any demand for NMT's.

And how does my suggestion only concern NMT's because it involves the quest idea too. Only couple people have commented the quest idea, I'm willing to take critic from that too.

Personally I think there are more pressing concerns that should be addressed first.

True. Too bad it seems that all the pressing concerns get solved only when the situation is catastrophic. If even then.

  18. Miiks, there is no PK because 1) everyone is busy leveling up to stay in competition 2) people would rather complain pk is dead than actually pk.

I could write an essay about problems in PK, but since this thread isn't made for PK suggestions, I won't do that.

  19. What kept me ingame at the beginning might have actually been my sucky computer and internet connection that I wasn't really able to play anything else... Well I also liked the classles system and easygoing feeling in the game too. Also the interaction between people was amazing, it was never boring because there was always some drama going on :P Nowadays there isn't even much PK so it's more like watching some boring drama show, where everything is fine and everyone are friends.

  20. It's not real "free market" if there's no products going out from the system. Especially with such limited player base as EL has. And yes, of course I do these kinds of suggestions when I see the price dropping. Actually I just started to play again like 2 weeks ago and the situation has been going worse since when I was last playing. Anyway NMT's price bumbed before the NMT removal stone was introduced. There was loads of newbs starting to train higher monsters and the demand exploded. Of course NMT removal raised the price a little too, but not as much as the "great newbie rush".

About arti capes, I don't believe there's too many people using them anyway since they require 10 human.

I also have told like millions of times I didn't do this suggestions only for NMTs. I like the quest idea too and if I ever got extra NMT and the quest existed, I would use it for that. I wouldn't sell the cape even they cost 2M gc. I just don't see any rational point in keeping the things like they are at this moment, because as I said, it's not real free market to have products that stay in forever. Would mixers be happy if radu made armors unbreakable? I don't think so.

Edit: Just another point from the mixer's view:

I don't actually understand why it's also mixers that want to keep NMTs in game without them going out, since it also distorts the armor market. Items break less, less demand etc. If every newb has NMT because they are cheap, it really makes it much harder to sell armors since they break less. Naturally. Then they whine how it's hard to cover even ingredients from the price they have to sell the armors and weapons. For them the optimal solution should be to remove NMT from game completely but instead they want to keep things as they are now. At least it seems that all suggestions about NMTs have been started by fighters, not mixers.

  21. Their aren't any/many new players coming into game, tbh, except alts. And i haven't really ever seen farming on feros/fluffies when i was around some of the popular spawns. I don't see the lower price for newbies to be a really great argument, since one of the major issues are we dont have many genuine newbies about. I can list about 10 in the last few months that i spoke to, and 2 that are active at the moment.

Anyway, i like the quest idea, but maybe make it require some roleplaying and a dynamic plots (aka npcs will react differently to you depending on order you speak to them) and take away the nmt, unless that gives a second similiar perk that stacks on the last one.

That's the main problem, soon there won't be enough newbs buying the cloaks. Actually you can already see that happening. The main reason NMT price bumbed a while ago was because there was loads of people starting to train feroses and other monsters that actually demanded some armor and at least CoL.

    Miiks -

NMT perk is over expensive, and moving cloaks price up to match perk will generally make them the cloak equivalent of thermy's - a rich persons play thing.

I've said many times that the price is actually pretty good atm. I think NMT cape should cost about 350-500k so you should at least do some work to get the perk. It's still not too hard to obtain with lvls you actually start getting real benefit from the perk. It's just that this price won't stay for long and I'd like to see it staying between those frames.

Edit: Of course it's still not permanent solution, since some day most of the people in EL have done the quest and again there's no demand for NMT's. But imo the quest would be nice add to game and at same time it helps the NMT market a little.

there might be more but thats a couple of different times the topic has came up :)

Do they involve the quest idea? Nope. As I said earlier, it wasn't only about making NMTs going away, also the idea of the quest is involved here but everyone seems to forget about it since they are too busy to rant about the NMT thingies :P
