  1. What is wrong with you people.. lol

Someone records their first minutes ingame with commentary ... Many flaws (from new players perspective) become obvious when watching his video. I found it entertaining to watch and agree with the points he made.

How would someone know that a minimap existed within a few minutes of playing?? That he failed to see the tutorial quest shows that there ARE players that miss it completely, a big question mark above the npcs head would be handy. Saying you don't want players 'like him' is nonsense,, more players is more better k?

Well imo the question marks aren't needed. There are people who want to talk to every NPC and see if it has a quest or just some other shit to talk.

And if you're not interested to seek for quests, you can go to Choris's netpage or EL-help forums and easily see what quests are out there and where. Easy and everyone should be happy :P

  2. Sounds like a good idea. Would there be any triggers else than (some random?) time for this?

Maybe we could also get a few other creatures say something when they see someone or fight them or kill them or when idle or something. I believe the unicorn idea may be a good step towards such additional cool features.

Im imagining attacking a Cyclops or Ogre "Me crush your skull and drink your blood from it!!oneeleven~" lol ^^

Nice Idea tho, its a lil detail but seems weird all those Monsters who actually could babble when u attack em dont do it..

Could be just some random phrases they throw out once you engaged em.

    Fabi

It would be funny for first 3 times and then get annoying :P At least I wouldn't want to see mobs spamming local everytime I attack them. But maybe they could do it randomly, like 1% chance to say something in local when being attacked. This way it wouldn't get irritating.

Edit: But yeah talking unicorn isn't bad idea, imo.

  3. I like what CherUT pointed.

I don't like people being alone in the guild, just for tag. I'm always thinking they are trying to say: "Hey, look how amazing I am, I created this guild only to make myself some funny tag next to my nickname." This is not what guilds are for.

My ideas: Minimum 5 people to create a guild. I propose fee near 200k and 50k for tag change, at least.

Some people want to PK even they aren't interested in joining a guild so it's easier to make own guild so you can't att your summons by an accident and can make allys with other guilds etc. Also there's people who aren't interested in hearing "wanna join my guild?" -questions all day so they make their own guild even they want to be alone there. So I don't agree with this idea.

  4. Well even with 100k cost for creating a guild, there would be people who want to be alone in their own guild, so I don't really like the idea. It would be too hard to find players to start the guild and then kick them off. Secondly "first one to talk to NPC gets rank 20" would be too unsure. Even if you have decided who will be GM, some other person might talk to NPC first and gets rank 20.

  5. I propose a cost (maybe 5-10k gc, or e.g. an EFE) in order for a guild to change its short tag. Guilds seem to change their short name on a whim, which can have a variety of negative effects.

On the positive side, we would have a gc (or item) sink, less confusion for new players, a bit more accountability for guild leaders.

The proposed fee is low IMHO. I think that starting a guild should cost like 100kgc and changing a tag 25-50kgc. <snip>

    Absolutely yes to both.

    Agreed :P

  6. Well since we cannot opt out of a quest, I'm not going to play EL anymore. I spent 3 days trying to complete the hawk assignment for Haidir to no avail. I ended up so frustrated that I started being obnoxious to a total stranger!

This is supposed to be only a game and an enjoyable one. Three IRL days trying to complete something and not being able to opt out is ridiculous - so goodbye to all I've met playing EL!

Hahaha just try to decide what to do :)

  7. IIRC he had like 32 or 36 bought PP and OA over 150, so he was very close, yes. However, he surely did not have gelatine bones, i cant dance or one perk (which was implemented after he retired), and also he had some nexues (human 7 and inorganic 2 - for coal and silver), so the math kinda malfunctions here somewhere :)

Yeah true, but actually I think it was the person (think it was anthony) that bought toomass and had those attributes. Nowadays the char has 61 bought PPs, but also lots of positive perks since kgxjeff ruined the char, removed lots of attributes and took stupid perks.

Small maths: 61 bought PPs, 165 oa, 24 PPs from neg perks = makes 250 PPs in total if I didn't misscalc. Since the nexuses are bought with hydro bars, so it didn't miss much from all attributes maxed.

  8. I especially liked the "went insane and deleted his char after too much grinding"-part. XD

Also i heard once that radu offered to change the datatype for experience should anyone ever be limited by that.

yeah not sure on that one... iirc he did say that he'd raise the attrib cap just for any person who gets every attrib to 48 tho... must be almost that time :>

That's 264 pickpoints w/o any nexus invested, a bit (a bit more, maybe the most) insane achievement :P 56 pickpoints for EVERY negative perk, 178 overall level and still you need to buy 30 pickpoints via nexus removal and nexus bought for HB (1500 HB and 30 nexus removal stones in total).

If anyone ever achieve this, he should really rethink an idea about getting some real life, seriously :D

Iirc toomass had all attributes at 48 except vitality was 36. And no, this isn't legend.

  9. Miiks, you solve 3/4 a rubicks cube and someone comes and purposely f*cks it up i bet you get at least a little mad. you take an hour and build a house of cards, someone purposely knocks it down you get pissed, right? you come home from work and want to play EL, get a group together and take down a casty, spend much gc you took hours+hours making, then some guy steals all drops.. you'll be at least a bit annoyed? maybe you even bought these supplies with $?

of course people get pissed, are you joking?

I think I didn't express myself clearly enough. I've said before it's normal to get annoyed and it's normal to be angry. But it belongs to all games, it belongs to rubics cube if you can't solve it and even if your house of cards crashes because you accidently knocked it yourself. If I fail in game, I might get frustrated but after playing it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't mix game feelings to RL feelings. That's what I'm trying to say and that's why I think you take this game too seriously. Morath and other "outlaws" have made clear decision that they really want to be outlaws. It makes their EL life harder, people try to brod them, don't trade them etc.

Just do the same thing as darkpresent, don't whine how he must be idiot and bad uneducated person irl, just make his EL life harder and keep these things in game. Don't mix EL and RL.

good excuse to also act like a douche miiks :)

i am not one of those people at all. what sabbath has been doing is saying the human being on the other end of a character=AI, because either way he is only directly interacting with pixels. Purposely being ignorant?

He makes very offensive statements to REAL PEOPLE in public channels just because he thinks it makes him seem cool, maybe he screws some people over, so what.. he can brag about it or gain IN GAME from it? that is all quite immature, and all-around garbage, and i have no problem calling him out on it. there are more than enough ignorant people (weather actually ignorant or just acting that way for kicks) spewing garbage on internet , in reality, etc.. it's on topic here right? he challenges, i tell him, "yes i've dealt with you, you were a douche then too". what's the problem? this paragraph has much run-ons.. as i said, little drunk :/

OK i'm done in this thread, you want to argue about it anymore contact me in game and we can fight about it. was fun..

    Edit ftw.

Yeah now I'm douche too because I said my opinion? Yes people in game are real people, but still you need to remember it doesn't mean they act like "real people". Most PKers don't kill people, mixers don't mix potions etc. irl. Good thing in games is, you can act however you want. Same thing with what you people say in game; it doesn't mean they would say same thing irl. Now I can say this without someone misunderstands me, if you get your feelings hurt because of what someone says in game, then you really have a problem.

I've never understood why people hate others because something they did or said in game. I've been broded and bagjumped many times too, but I don't hate the person behind the character. It's just roleplaying and you really don't know the person who's controlling char in game. Roleplaying means you can be something that you aren't irl without getting punished. If you want to be a thief and evil person, it's ok because it's just roleplaying and not a real person gets hurt. Understand it? EL isn't even supposed to be just fun and easy game to play. It's more like RL: Sometimes (mostly ) boring, frustrating and sometimes bad things happen. But then secondly it can be fun and rewarding.

  10. my view is biased from every single thing i've seen you do/say in game and on forums; gj, you made it very clear you are a big giant douche, all through your EL career... should anyone have any other impression of you? i am yet to hear one..

Are you some 12 year old kid? After you don't know what else you could say you start sayin kav is douche? Kav is one of the smartest players I've met and I respect the way he doesn't care what everyone else thinks about him. You seem to be childish "everyone else are idiots if they don't agree with me" -person. If we don't like those idiotic community rules, is it your problem? Seems I really have to start being outlaw after this to show people you don't really need to be asshole irl to be outlaw in game.

  11. Miiks; anyone smart enough to understand what's going on knows they are hurting a player they are ripping off in game, bottom line. no psychology needed. chances are; at least a bit of an asshole.

Anyone smart enough understand not to get his feelings hurt because of a game? No? If not, then you have serious problem.

  12. Miiks there is a difference between spending time having fun in a game, and spending time being bored in a game? Game is supposed to be fun right? We'll use GTA as an example. You spent hours trying to collect money to buy a massive amount of weapons. you save at the end, then someone purposely saves a noob file in that same slot. now you have to waste much time if you want to go get all that stuff again.

Yeah but almost any game makes you frustrated sometimes, in every game you can lose and have to start everything from the scratch. I used to play Civilization 4 and other strategic games and one game last even 10 hours sometimes. After playing so long it didn't really feel good to lose the game. But still it's just a game, nothing more. EL isn't different, mostly you lose things because of your own stupidity. Yes I understand that morath mostly uses the bug that you can't do anything to save the bag from him and that's why I really don't like his actions. But still he has the right to play the game the way he wants.

Just play the game and make him suffer in game. Don't try to be some kind of psychologist and analyze what problems he must have in RL because he is evil in game. As I've said many times, outlaws just keep things interesting. If you don't agree with me, find a game that doesn't have such "problem".

  13. sabbath.. in gta those are NOT player characters you're killing.. and anyway pk is fine, most times if you're there you want to be.

and as for the wasting tons of someones time for kicks or profit, well.. take wuffzel for example; she just wasted 27k on pk bolts, plus whatever other supplies when morath hijacked the casty bag. obviously that's a total loss, and now she has to waste time making it up.. just an example.

game no= reality. To make gc in game you must use actual time, from real clocks.. iirc :pickaxe:

If you play a game, it's practically always waste of time. Doesn't matter if you make 300k or lose same amount. Just stop playing EL and you'll notice how much more time you'll have to do other things.

  14. Haha you guys really take this too seriously. If you think everything as how much RL time it gets or how much $ you lose if someone bagjumps you, you really should go to therapist. Of course it's natural to be annoyed after you lose something expensive or someone bagjumps your good drop, but when people keep crying over this for weeks, even months, it just not normal. As kav has said many times, this is just a game after all and these outlaws just make it worth playing and keeps thing interesting. If EL was just "peace & love" -game, I think many of us would have already quitted long time ago.

I'd actually want to try to be outlaw for a while and see how people change their opinion about me. Most people know me as nice and polite person in game and I act same way irl. I'd just like to show that it doesn't mean you need to be asshole or criminal irl to do outlaw acts in game. But I'm not putting it into practise, at least not yet :pickaxe:

It's pointless to keep ranting about this, anyone can choose the way they want to play and it's ok.

Anyway rayla had 100x more style :omg:

  15. Don't know if this has anything to do with this case, but in instances, I got the bag few times when I clicked it right after monster died. Normally I never get them because I'm tank with low att lvl (I'm pretty sure the person who did most damage, gets the bag).

So I think there's small delay before game autowalks someone on the bag.

  16. Instances where the apeal before I left. Loved em. But doing the same one over and over might get dull...Gotta keep leveling.

Yeah I agree with that. I've done maybe 10+ n00b instances and after that maybe over 20 80-100 instances and it's getting pretty boring to run same map with small variety of monsters all again. Might be fun to see more different mobs and maybe different maps in instances, so it would keep them interesting and astonishing. I know it's lot of work but maybe in future.
