  8. Mazes

I got this idea from "More members for eternal lands" -thread. If you are too lazy to read whole post, I'll just say it short way: Single player instance. But I really suggest you to read the whole post before flaming about how stupid idea this is. So the idea of mazes is that when you reach certain lvl in some skill, you are able to enter the maze. There you have to fight / find your way to the door that leads out from the maze. There could be one (strong) monster that drops the key to the door or alternatively you should kill all the monsters to get out. If you complete the maze, you'd get good reward and would be able to go to the next maze after you get the required lvl for it. There could also be some quests that opens after you have cleared the maze. There could be also own mazes for mages and rangers, so everyone doesn't need to get high a/d lvl to get in harder mazes. If you go to fighting maze, you shouldn't be able to use other spells than healing and maybe shield spells, but you could wear armor and weapons normally. If you go to mage maze, you can't wear anything (or maybe mage robes etc.) but use harm and other spells freely. Ranging maze allows you to wear bow and arrows, but nothing else. So what's the point in these mazes? - There's some target for n00bs to train for, so there is smaller chance they get frustrated and quit the game. Especially if they don't want to be PKers or it feels they'll never get high enough to PK. - You can go to maze whenever you want and no need to plan few hours with whom you want to go to instance and plan how you share the profits etc. - Brings more interest in endless grinding. - They'd be just damn fun! This is just preliminary idea so feel free to make suggestions about how to make it better or why it wouldn't work. Btw mazes should start from pretty low lvl, let's say you'd be able to enter first (fighting) maze when you reach a+d 60 in total. Rangers and mages can post their own ideas about their own mazes, since I'm not really familiar with those skills. Hopefully this wasn't suggested before. I just didn't make any other words up that would fit in this idea Edit: Anyway there should be at least some time limit so def whores like me can't go to maze and train monsters there for few hours.
  9. Many players pursue fighting. Whether a CoL is 60k, 80k, or 100k, a fighter will likely still buy one. A top Crafter or Manufacturer may have more insight and a less biased view of supply, demand, and the market in general than one of many fighters, trying to dump monster drops for a quick sale. To say a player's opinion should be weighed more heavily because of the skills s/he chooses to pursue is rather ignorant. I didn't really mean their opinions should be weighed more heavily compared to other skills. I just mean there sure is some problem in fighting because many top fighters have been quitting during short period. But as I said, fighting should be bit more rewarding and training should have some more point instead of "you're able to kill bit strongers monsters now, yay!" while you get new lvls. Yes instances were good addition, but there should be something to do for lower lvl people too and generally more things to do with your a/d, magic or ranging skills. People should feel like they're protecting Eternal Lands from evil monsters, not like I just grind the monsters to get moar lvls and some drops. Especially for newbies it might be hard to understand what for are they fighting. Invasions are good way to get some atmosphere, but really there isn't anything palpable to protect. Defending instances would be fun, where you really have to keep your position and not let the monsters kill the v.i.p or attack the city. Read more from mazes -thread ->
  10. Mazes

That's point of my idea. Since most of training is done solo, why couldn't there be some "training mazes" where you can test your skills alone if you are ready to start PK or go to instances? Yes I agree there should be more team based action and actuyally I'd like to see some quests or different kind of instances that you have to complete with a team. For example it could be defending a city from invaded monsters, where rangers can be shooting from city walls and fighters fighting monsters melee. Atm instances are more like attacking and going onwards, but I'd like to see some instances where you have to defend certain place / person from monsters. It would need more teamwork and tactics. I'd rather see reward being exp than stuff. Yea 30's a/d was just a nomination and I didn't really think about it. I agree 45's would work better maybe.
  11. I fully agree. And second thing is keeping old players in game. There has been huge player loss during couple last years especially among fighters. I think fighters are the biggest source of income to radu, since they are buying rostos and weapons etc. and the manuers who make st00f for them are buying bindings etc. from shop. So IMO their opinions should be listened more and try to develop the game to right direction. Also most of people who are starting the game wants to become a pr0 fighter (most mmorpg's are emphased on fighting). Especially at the beginning, fighting isn't really rewarding. Newbies can't really pk since lot stronger fighters rule the DPA's and also PvE is somehow boring at the beginning. So IMO there should be more fighting quests that tells about fighting mechanics and how to become a fighter / ranger / mage etc. They shouldn't be like "kill 300 rabbits and then come back to get 1k a/d exp", but learning how attributes affect your build etc. Maybe making some kind of "minigames" where newbie gets 48/48 r/w and (s)he should harm some mobs to death etc. Then get some mag exp as reward. So practically what I'm trying to say, is that we should get some unique fighting quests in EL. Not like "go there, talk to that npc, kill 100 rabbits" etc. Especially to newbies, but also to higher lvl people. This is just fighter's point of view.

  13. Pin Poll

http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45292 Funny how pinning has changed from bug to feature. Thanks to Gohan's signature for bringing it back to my mind
  14. New defense item

I love this idea since I'm def whore
  15. TD tweaking

It's useless to argue with you since you just keep continuing same bullshit all over. Why don't YOU make a suggestion about changing some C2 map just to no drops and let the oldschool fighters decide what to do with TD (that is supposed to be oldschool which actually means like pk was 6 years ago)?
  16. TD tweaking

Well when TD was implemented and there was actually fighting, there were lot's of fights against lot stronger people. Just needed bit more people (or oldschools summons) on killing them. Now when you try to gangbang a top 50 fighter with few 80's people, a mage will come and kill everyone with few harms.
  17. TD tweaking

Why are you hundreds of fighters scared of only a couple dozen mages, rangers, and engineers? As said before, get your best stuff, go to TD and pm Dugur. You will see very soon why even top 50 fighters are afraid to go to TD.
  18. TD tweaking

Yeah sure it will own TD, but you don't need any fighters to do it. If you even find anyone to own there.
  19. TD tweaking

Haha I just don't understand your logic. Why ruin fun of hundreds of fighters, because of couple dozen mages, engineers and rangers? Many of them weren't even playing at "oldschool" EL times.
  20. E_mc2 lured me into pk and killed me

What makes you think someones ingame behavior has to be linked to their RL behavior? after all this game is a MMORPG, not everyone wants to play the "let's be friends and have a tea party" roll. I've been thinking the same thing for years too Edit: I mean I don't understand how it's so hard to separate RL and the game. Looks like people think "outlaws" act same way in RL as in EL.
  21. Pin Poll

Pr0 idea. <sarcasm> Why not make them invulnerable? You know, that way nobody can manage to bypass some protection they have been given </sarcasm> Why don't we remove mag protection from dragon so mages can go farm them too? No one still have answered this question.
  22. Pin Poll

    Pr0 idea.
  23. Pin Poll

Those 100k arrows will have cost you at least 1000k (or 1M) gc... And NO way to reduce that expense (much) Pretty interesting: I asked my ranger friend about the cost of killing dragon. He has 36 ran and 60 AP. He said killing a dragon with training arrows cost about 1500gc. So you still make easily over 2k gc profit per dragon and get good ran exp. Yes AP costs 900k but still it's not that bad investment compared to exp and gc you get by farming dragon (and anyway every "real" ranger has it). Phail. Wouldn't solve the problem but make it bit harder and more expensive to train dragons (and ruin the ranging skill in general)
  24. Pin Poll

I've shot close to 100k arrows to get to ranging 39. Please tell me who I can get to just stand there and be beaten up by a dragon while I shoot 100k more. Haha do you understand that this is the point in whole thread? You can shoot 100k arrows safely and with no breaks. That ruins the market of dragon scales and makes ranging too easy skill to lvl. IMO dragons are not meant to be farmed 24/7. Secondy: Someone could tell me how is this situation different to dug farming dragons with harm? People were mad about that back then and it was changed.
  25. Pin Poll

I don't understand... Why you people keep crying "aaa pinning must stay or ranging won't be fun / profitable etc. etc." Tell me why you can't get someone with higher a/d to tank the dragon while you shoot? I think it would increase the price of dragon scales a bit, make the game more "realistic", add more challenge in killing dragons and especially add some teamwork in game. Just give me good explanation why this is too hard for you rangers?
