  1. Ok Dilly, lets take that concept and run with it.

Remember channel 8? "The people" wanted that too. So I nagged and nagged and nagged to get it for you and "the people" and now nobody uses it. All those people really didn't care after all.

One thread with a few people saying "yeah! I like that a lot! Do it!" really does not indicate the majority, as has been proven.

    Now on to the rock.

What bug? The fact the path is wide enough for only one person to walk through? Not a bug.

A character walking around the rock when something is on that one tile? Not a bug.

A character "stuck" going back and forth or around and around when mapwalking is used and then not paid attention to? Not a bug, the character has to go somewhere since it was told to mapwalk and forgotten about.

Not a bug, although some people might not like it, that doesn't make it a bug.

I didn't call anything a bug so I'm not gonna respond to the last part of your post. As for Channel 8, it would have been a smashing succes IF it had become the invasion channel as well, and I think that that was the initial idea, no?

Umm that was up to the people using it. I don't understand that comment, what automated announcements are in 6 that were missing from 8? The idea was to lose the pk announcements and chat and keep lenny, right? Then everyone interested would leave 6 and go to 8 and still chat about invasions.

As the saying goes, you can't please all of the people all of the time. For that matter, seems some people one can never please.

Yet if announcements from the people hosting the invasions only get posted in channel 6, it's inevitable that people stick around in 6, and not use 8 to further discuss it. It's exactly what happened after 8 got introduced.

As for anything else I have to say, it would just get deleted so I'll keep that to myself, as I DID appreciate the effort put in by several people to get channel 8 in game, and don't want to take away from that.

  3. This post is not meant as a flame, and is not even addressed at Aislinn in person, although I am referring to a quote of hers. It's meant to point out one of the things that has resulted in many people leaving EL so far. Nothing personal, just what I find from talking to others.

Left to some people's devices, EL would be empty of character...it would only be about the fastest empty path to the closest storage, no trees to hinder monster fighting, every stat documented and plotted, nothing left to chance and nothing to hinder maximum time/exp/effort/gc put out. It's annoying, really, some of these suggestions.

EL, in many ways is already a lot slower paced than other games out there. Although the kind of player that tends to stick around in EL doesn't necessarily value a fast pace, little things like this -taking away the 'annoyance' that clearly a part of the active community has- would certainly help in making people a little bit happier. If you wanna play EL properly (whatever that means), there are plenty of other challenges to overcome, plenty of other things to use your brain for. And if you want to mapwalk to storage for a minute and not have to be sent around that rock 3 times before you can pass, I think that's something that can easily be solved. And I honestly doubt that by adding 1 extra walkable tile, all character will be gone from EL, as for the biggest part, character is brought by the people playing the game.

I just don't see why every little imperfection has to stay an imperfection at all cost, in some people's views. At times it's the small things that keep people happy and around, it doesn't always require introduction of new items/skills.

  5. amar, since when does Luigi = Liquid?

You may not have noticed but there's some other capes ingame that could actually be helpfull in PK. At the moment hardly anyone dares take the risk of swapping from Cotu to mirror or BP, which affects the way fights go.

But of course, YOU'RE the pr0 PKer, who the hell do I think I am with my common sense, and all?

  6. And remember, most people dont brod for no reason. Some reasons go back between people for 5 years or more :)

Yes, the biggest part of people who feel using brod is justified have something to prove about their private parts, but more to themselves than to anyone else.

Brod is being used, for as long as I can remember, in a few ways:

    - to just talk about it to try and intimidate the person that will supposedly get broded (lame)

    - to punish someone for an outlawishy act against a person, or a friend/guildie (could be a good reason)

    - by only a few it actually gets used all the time because they simply don't care. (those people don't care to get it done back to them so wth who cares. At least those people, and there really have been only a handfull, didn't just talk and drool over it, but just went ahead and went on brodsprees)

Ever since PK, for the most part is loss free because the most used PK areas are No Drop, use of brod has increased a lot, and to be honest, with death being free (pc on dignity?) brod offers a risk of losing something in return that you can actually protect yourself from, so it's not all that bad, if you look at it rationally.

However, we all play games (or most of us do...) for fun, and not to only slave ourselves to buy stuff and replace it after someone knowingly wrecks it. And no, the majority of EL players do NOT fund their gameplay by buying gold on the blackmarket, most people still work for it. Either way I think my opening phrase reflects very well how I feel about the brod, and I also know that to a person that's new to the game, it seems even more extreme of a weapon than to those of us that play for years now.

Unfortunately, we've had discussion about this several times in the past already, and Teh God has been perfectly clear about not wanting to remove it. I would personally have settled with higher overall breakrates and less No Drop maps if brod were removed, but that will remain just a dream :)

  7. this whole thread is ridiculous. A landmine is an object made by man and placed by man. If anything, the conclusion would be that people shouldn't be allowed in EL but that kinda takes away... well.. the entire game.

EL offers a wide variety of very peacefull activities, if you don't like the stuff in it that hurts your pixels, then just sit your butt down in some cave to harvest or some storage to mix.

  8. i wouldn't dare do that Aislinn, but from your replies in this and other threads you have given me the impression that, in your opinion, the higher level armors are a luxury, not a necessity.

But you know what, I'll just withdraw from this discussion, these things always end up with the same results anyways, so why would I bother anymore eh.

  9. @Dilly

What points of view? Aislinn tried to point few things and you burried his/her comments, how you can't train in cheaper gear and how you can't pay so much for rosto. Than tell me how you plan to lower it's price? As far as i can see price is still 30k as it was.

Sure, you don't have to. Or you could see it from the other side of things and try to accept that there are more and more people saying: ´hmm.. the stuff is ingame, and if i use it it will actually allow me to move on from what I've been doing for months now, and it will increase my joy in playing this game´.

Your, and Aislinn´s idea of fun does not have to be similar to what someone else sees as fun. There is, whether you like it or not, a large part of this game's community who chose to use the higher value stuff. The low cost way of life isn't better than the highcost way of life, nor vice versa. Try get out of your shell and try see why someone would prefer to chose a different way of playing, and even if you don't agree with them, don't just call them 'fucking hypocrites and selfish ameba's' , simply for making different choices, leading to other challenges than you encounter ingame.

  10. I don't slightly care if someone lose icd set, cause he doesn't care will how many gc i lose on fucking tools to make them he's, sr's and other shit they need and how much time i lose so you could play with monsters, don't talk like you are above me, all you just complain, but when you are to lose something you would kill for it.

More than half of you that write here are fucking hypocrites and selfish ameba's.

Never did complain, trying to point on few things that are screwing economy and you are saying i don''t make sanse?

I find it funny how you call half of the people here 'fucking hypocrites and selfish ameba's' when there is one person that is not even trying to understand other people's points of view, and that person is you.

See, the difference is that the tools you break, sure they need replacement, but you'd have to use up a WHHHHOOOOLE lot of them to even get close to what 1 piece of steel armor costs, and it only gets more as you upgrade the armor. Before you think you can slash that down: check my levels and you'll see that I've probably used up as many tools for mixing as you have, maybe even more, and that's including vials and alembics.

It's your good right to chose to focus on the non combat levels more than on for example a/d, but trust me, once you have spent all those months training to a certain level, you do want to wear the cool armor when you go to invasions. At 110s a/d, if I go to an invasion in aug stuff and with a tit long sword, all that will happen is I die within 3 minutes, drop the stuff i had and that would be it. With the nice gear, I actually last. Yes i have the choice not to go, but for me, those invasions are about the best fun I can get. I know more people with the same opinion.

Additionally: I'm not known for having good economics, I spend more than i should, I just buy what I need, and use what I have, and when it breaks I replace it if I need it again, no matter what the cost. When I run out of rostos, I dial 0900-radu, and he delivers me new ones. I make EL easier for myself that way. This doesn't mean that I just assume everybody else can and will or even should do the same. EL is presented as a free to play game, and I think people who want to keep it free to play should be able to do it without missing out on anything (provided they work for it of course). And that's why I feel so strongly about rosto prices needing to go down (which Learner seems to have accomplished), as well as prices for certain other items. Not to make them available to the first newbie that enters the game within a day, but so that players that have played a while, and are starting to build up a decent storage can also do this IN game, without having to slave themselves for months.

  11. I saw rutu putting mines in C2 portals room last ndd :P

and someone that didn't take the One perk has no risk from that, whatsoever, and the persons that do have the One perk have been warned over and over again to never expect to be safe. Nothing wrong with what rutu does, it's their choice to be pp hungry enough to take that neg.

#edit oh and especially.... even without the One perk you're nuts if you go walk around in expensive gear without a rosto, let alone when you do have the perk. People have to think, and not just assume to be safe.

  12. If you offer for less, people will buy from you, not from learner and he will just find himself with a crapload of rostos which he paid too much for, and is trying to charge even more for ^^

I would gladly do it (sell for less), but what i learned is that there is LOT of resellers who buy from you for "fair" price and sell it OVERpriced.

There are even people who hop from guild to guild and are abusing/misusing the good will and kindness of guildies and buy from them very cheap and resale.

provided you always have supply of rostos, you will always be the owner of the bot people go to first. Problem would be keeping stock up ^^

  13. lol @ rostos for 50kgc.

Did it occur to any of you that Learner might actually be trying to prove a friggin point here?

With all due respect, if you really wanna make a point and keep rosto price 'reasonable', keep selling them at 32kgc. As said in an earlier post in thread, that's pretty much much they are worth when you look at shop price vs gc/usd conversion rate on the gc market. And if you really wanna go back to what it was, then ask even less. If you offer for less, people will buy from you, not from learner and he will just find himself with a crapload of rostos which he paid too much for, and is trying to charge even more for ^^

  14. @Dilly

No1 is forcing you to play if u don't like the system. Since playing this game for so long i don't care anymore, cause there is no cure.

Now see, that's the good part.. I buy, and have pretty much always bought these stones from shop, and except for rare occasions, have used them all for my own use. So for myself, I solved the challenge but seen as EL advertises to be a FREE TO PLAY game, i think to the normal EL player, these things should be at least obtainable under reasonable circumstances: if luck fails them while harvesting, they should be able to buy such an item ingame for ´fair´ prices.

Anyways, you're just gonna find something in what i said to trash again... I`ve spoken my mind on the matter, it's MY opinion, always has been always will be. (btw: I'm playing this game possibly longer than you are, I know what goes on, doesn't mean I should accept all of it)

  15. You can't do anything to change prices of stones, even if there is a person which will sell them for lower, there will always be those who will buy them and again sell them for bigger price.

And so you just surrender and go along? I play games for fun, not to work for hours or days (depending on levels) to get one pretty commonly used sword.

  16. If u all have time to bitch, why don't you try to suggest something that will correct this situation on batter?

it's not bitching. if 'the community' doesn't mind everyone being greedy and only being concerned for their own wellbeing, then by all means, go on like this. If you want newer players, or slower levelers to feel they stand a chance to have some stuff that's not even all that exclusive anymore (a cutty.. a tit shield.. basic items these days), then stop sticking your head in the sand and admit there's an issue with people being greedy scrooges.

#edit: the solution being to refuse trades with people of whom you know they will outprice anyone for the rare stones to crazy amounts of gc. To be totally clear, ask yourself the following question: how can serpstones go up in price about 3kgc in less than 2 months?

  17. Really, how many players in the game can make for you that full ice armor?

Just a very few, they have earned the right to charge whatever they want for that armor.

Remember this is a game, and they are playing the game (well).

Yet there's a lot more that could make you the CoL or the titanium shield or the magic sword of your choice, and those people can't get their hands on binding or serpstones either, simply because 1) supply is limited (=good imo, unlimited would also mean too easy to get), and 2) the richest guys ingame, who can afford to massproduce these things will outprice anyone else.

I'm not blaming this on Holar alone, before Holar there was Sheitan, and I see that Amar is also paying ridiculous prices, and hogging up crazy amounts of binding stones for the hell of it. And then there's more people like them.

The thing is, Joe Average, and this doesn't even have to be a newbie, simply can't afford these prices.

by the way, in response to Torr: I´m not a fighter primarily, and my skill levels are high enough to have a need for all of the items we are talking about here, and still I complain about this, simply because, in my opinion, it's a messed up situation.

I guess the only good thing coming from all this is that Radu's sales are probably up a bit.

  18. Holar, you conveniently forget to mention that you yourself advertise on market channel to pay much more than your bot does.

But indeed, you're not the only one...

That said: CoL prices are through the roof. Binding stones are ridiculously expensive. And most of all: a part of EL's community is unhealthily greedy.

Stop the greed and let other people have a chance to actually get their hands on items like this, else EL will no longer be a challenge, but a mission impossible.

  19. Today is a special day:

    Day of Invasions

The invasions last more, are harder, and have a higher chance to happen.

I know it's still a matter of chance, but we just had a day of invasions and there was not 1 hour with GIWS invasion. I know some people find these invasions to be disrupting their everyday life in Draia, but imo it would be nice if there was at least a guarantee of 1 or 2 hours with invading mobs. The instance mobs are a challenge and fun to fight.

#edit.... spoke to soon.. day ended and right after that:

GIWS: Invasion Advanced Warning!!! Monsters will spawn in 1 minute inside the Morcraven Cave! All hands to battlestations!

There are 2 invaded monsters left.

    [JaxomCA @ 6]: 2 bulas

  20. I have an alt that's taking the quest.... she was created last night at 10pm, and when i logged off 2 hours and a bit later she was 17/17 a/d, and after another 40 mins this morning she's 19/19 a/d thanks to these quests. Last mob i killed was the armed skeleton, I think I will have to actually train a/d a bit now to be able to proceed, but it's a nice way to gain those first levels pretty easily. Of course, I have knowledge of the maps, and I know where to go, and where not to go to not respawn every 5 minutes due to aggro mobs, so still can't be compared to a true newbie entering the game, but it's sure gonna make a big difference, and it's a lot more entertaining than to do nothing but harvest your first hours ingame.

Thanks for the quest Radu, i think it's a great addition to the game!
