  1. Here's something to consider:

We play an RPG, and from that perspective, I think if a map is invaded by evil monsters that want to take over the world, it's only natural to expect not to be able to continue your daily business if they include things you want to do on an invaded map. I mean.. in the real world, when there's a warzone you don't get a special outfit that gives you a free pass either right? Shops close down, supplies are harder to get, etc. In Draia, most resources are available from more than 1 single place, so even though the alternative may not be optimal, you DO have an alternative in say 95% of the cases.

That said.. I like the idea of the cape, but if it were introduced it would have to have A LOT of restrictions, even to the point where one can not even drop stuff to others, as it would create a far too easy way for someone to supply others with more resources to last longer in the invasion (arrows, pots, essences).

  2. if they do the novac quest they won't have to 'train' on rats, it will put them on, or even past goblins in a matter of hours

Only thing is they'll have to harvest to get some funds for training supplies, as they won't get heaps of rattails and meat

  3. "ahhhh nooooo i died and dropped 1 golden star mace, a magic nexus removal and 128500gc.. the pain is unbearable :o(" lol

btw if ATA decides to keep some for himself and other people who fought in melee he has every right to, risk Vs gain,, they risk more they gain more

they have a chance to be broded, degrade stuff in normal combat, die and lose rosto, Sr/He.

while a ranger just stands there and shoots arrows without any risk, basicly they spend a few k to gain alot while the ones in melee who risk way more get just as much as someone who spends close to nothing.

Its known to kill an castel best is to use just 1 top ranger with pk arrows.

Arrows hit heals an castel allot .

So somebody using training stuff would probebly heal it more then killing it.

1 top ranger with ER uses about 1k pk arrows = 35k till its down .

    Meaning: `unless you're ubberpr0 with maxed specialised a/d or ranging setup, don't bother helping`?

Meaning: ´We're the powerfull and rich, and we don't intend to do anything to help lowerlevel unworthy scum to advance´?

Most effective isn't always most fun, you'd be surprised to see how much fun it CAN be to team up with people you wouldn't usually work with.

#edit: ofc.. silly me, once you get to the a/d levels to meleefight castellan, playing this game isn't about fun anymore, it's all about the 2nd job eh.

  4. it is easy to complain but some in this thread need to tell the truth about their actions if they feel the need to post about this subject

Why would they? It's not a confess all thread.

But since you asked for it:

Even though I'm not really playing, the times that I am online, I help out people when they ask for it and I feel like it or am able to. Do I always treat everyone with respect? No. I treat people with respect, untill they've proven that they don't earn my respect. And now comes the zomfg.... In my spare time I sometimes misclick on a skeleton key. Kgo, outlaw me, I'll just thank the kind donators for their contributions.

Again, I honestly doubt that ´confessions´ like this are the purpose of this thread, and the people that posted in it that I ´know´ ingame, nobody pretended to be holier than they are.

  5. there's a difference between people who decide to play the bad guy, and people who think they have more rights because of the levels they have, or the money they have invested.

Having people ingame like Newhope, or Rayla and Tyrone whenever they decide to honor us with a visit, or even the people who never speak up but who do spend hours looking for hyperbags to loot, makes EL, or even any other game more fun. It´s part of player interaction, and it's something that actually keeps people interested and entertained. The same goes for the people on the extreme other side, the ones some of us talk about as the peacefull treehuggers. EL wouldn't be EL if there weren't room for people who go and protest at the well in IP against mines working on peaceday.

But if you mention ethics, what first comes to mind is the recent outlaws post about whether or not someone is honest about a monster drop. Also, botowners totally outpricing eachother, only to monopolise the market, and with that driving up prices like crazy, totally forgetting about Joe Average not at all being able to afford things. Ethics, to me, is treating other players with respect, and not screwing them over. It´s being able to be happy with any help you get, from whatever level player offers the help. It's about working hard, gaining levels, and still be as friendly as you were when you needed the help yourself.

Oh, and I also want worldpeace.

  6. i don't see anyone here pointing the finger at ALL of M&K, and I'm smart enough to figure out that the actions of 1 person do not mean all the people in their guild are the same. Fact remains that the 1 person that got the bag decided to not let everyone that helped in on it at first, so people are now warned about this for the future.

  7. No problems here, everyone had the same gc

and im use ubber def, thermal serp, rdholam too risky

u only use pk arrow no risk

So what you're saying is: I spent a shitload of RL cash on a char and with that I'm able to make enough gc to afford all that expensive stuff, and if you're too por or cheap to do the same, I really have the right to not tell about the most expensive part of a drop from an invasion monster?

I just know that splitting the profit from the nexus removal was forced on you by your guildies with a bit more sense, ATA, and that's sad enough.

It's good that it got sorted in the end but from what you posted, people should think again about teaming with you, because your attitude about it bites.

  8. There is no need to increase NPC prices, thats stupid idea. With items more expansive than NPC sell price it's good for economy. Players will buy from NPC which means gc sink and it will lower consume of rare items.

Are we playing Eternal Lands, the game where you can develop skills and if you develop them for long enough you can make nice stuff and sell them and make a nice profit, or are we playing some Economy Simulation game? I think it's the first, and in that case, how much more sense does it make to make sure making an item with gathered mats, will be less costly to produce than it would cost to go to an NPC and buy the item, without any risk of critfailing?

Shouldn't improvements to a game in the first place be to stimulate the players, and motivate them to want to level even further because at the end, the reward is good?

The discussion about people selling shopstuff ingame for far too much gc has been going for too long to even have a sparkle of hope to that ever sorting itself out in everyone's best interest, so perhaps increasing the NPC prices for certain highlevel endproducts is the only thing that will work.

  9. Prices are determined by market forces, supply and demand.

Unfortunately, in the years I've spent in EL I've found that prices for 'rare' items are more often set by 1 or a select few high level/high RL bankaccount people who decide to hog the market for a certain item.

I don't get why making an item yourself should be more expensive than buying it from NPC, period. So either something has to be done to make the recipes cheaper (not a chance in hell of that happening), or the NPC sell prices have to rise in order to stimulate people making those items instead of buying them from the NPC.

Xanthus' post makes perfect sense to me.

  10. I would like to outlaw myself. I have called certain people wankers, bitches, arrogant mofo's and other things, and to some of those I even did it in their faces :medieval:

In my defense, I've been called much worse, it all started with being called a male truckdriver tbh, but I'll spare you the details.

Zia and Ena, I'm so sorry for ever calling you slags, and I would also like to apologise to Assmondius, Assgnny and Asslar for bad puns to their names, obviously it's very offensive and if I upset you, I hereby sincerely apologise to you from the bottom of my heart.

    /sarcasm

Lorlen, I think i get the general idea of what you're trying to say, but how on earth are you gonna do such a thing when a huge example is getting set all the time in channel 6?

  11. lol @ all of this.

Ekzman didn't have to team with newhope for that instance, but he did, and not only did he screw newhope over, but also the rest of the team.

Newhope has been scrutinized for years now for not doing anything but play the game, and playing it to the fullest he can without stepping outside the game rules. If you´re dumb enough to take the One perk, don´t hate him for trying to bomb you. If you´re stepping into a PK map, then count on getting PKd. If you´re in a drop map, COUNT on losing stuff, or bring a rosto. And yes, he got me once or twice too, but can´t blame him for it.

  12. Namaste - the god in me greets the god(z) in you.

You guys sure have made EL an interesting place for a good while. Causing me at times to never wanna log on ever again, and other times I couldn`t wait to see what would happen next.Being an ex-Lion, all i can say is that the rivalry could have been there as well without a lot of backstabbing, manipulative schemes, insults and complete utter lack of respect. From both sides, that is. I have never understood it, and I never will, and I gave up trying a long time ago.

But I do wish you all the best for your futures, and hope life has good things in store for you.

  13. Ok, @ infamous

Our federal government/president are corrupt atm ; and if you don't understand that then it is impossible for you to see why us Americans don't want them in charge of our Healthcare...

All governments/presidents are corrupt, they are politicians. Politics = squirming your way around truths, half-truths and lies. And why? Because they can never please all.

As for you not 'wanting them in charge of your healthcare': Some things actually ARE in the the best interest of the population even though the population doesn't realise it. At the end of the day though, your president and government are both there because you and your fellowcitizens voted for them
