  1. Guess the player name!

zerocool? not even sure if thats a character
  2. Channel 6 "Evil" discussion

*pets Natsume* Who wants a biscuit ? Voted... Teletubies. Because I loved that show when I was younger, and everyone knows that Noonoo was the only non evil one
  3. Attention KF PKers

Then they'd need to give everyone who was making a video a green name.
  4. Storage!

150 wolf furs? Reserve for me at that price please
  5. EL 'trailer' movie needed (with contest)

Heh, that whole post deletion without an explanation thing is frustrating. @sywren: I like how you used the first person mode to capture a PK scene, but the camera seems a bit... shakey. Lagg also seems to be a bit of an issue on your video, as some of it looks a little jerky. I love what you've done at 0:30 (though the "You have died...!" message is half cut out), and 0:34 (though maybe you could include some nice water effects? maybe show the horse riding along/parallel to a river?), 0:37 scene is flawless, and I like the final EL logo (and how the music syncs with it). If anything, I'd like to see 0:37 and the EL logo included in a video, they were very well done.
  6. Harvest Med break rate change #3

Thanks for the data collection and organisation, bkc. Very nicely presented and interpreted too. I think I'll go buy a Harvester Medallion now, Harvest 57 has been escaping me lately.
  7. Guess the player name!

FINALLY explanation: first pic: Sin---> unholy ---> dark --> demon. The first sound in demon is the 'de' sound, or (how I pronounce it), it sounds like, "Dee-man", so.. second pic: Brad Pitt ---> human --> man. (De)man = DMan
  8. Guess the player name!

The first picture represents a single letter of the alphabet. The second picture is like, a synonym of homosapien That must make it obvious!
  9. Guess the player name!

No, no, no, no, no! lol Maybe the reference is a little too obscure... trying to think of more clues.
  10. Auctioning 80325k silver ores

Wow, 80325000 silver and only 160k
  11. Guess the player name!

    Getting warmer.
  12. Guess the player name!

Lol, anima that's an excellent suggestion but sadly no Additional clues: Picture one is an unholy creature. Picture two denotes a word that is three letters long.
  13. Gold membership

Yeah, but you seem to be on the the side that's giving as few benefits as possible, and nobody will bother buying the Perk if it doesn't hold its own weight in water. I highly expect my suggestions have got flaws in them, but I am willing to concede some (or all) of them if nessecary, but you aren't even looking for a middle-ground meet. Please, I don't see how my suggestions are influenced to grant a massive advantage; to the contrary, I've tried to adjust it so the only benefits a GMP holder receive are ones that cut down some of the tedious aspects of gameplay. Regular players can still catch up to those paying, if they're willing to devote the time. I asked Entropy about the suggestions idea, and he (more or less) said he'll sanction suggestions as long as he reviews them to be fair.
  14. Gold membership

Well, for one I think if a reduction was made, it would compel people to choose what occupies their storage space more wisely. No more 100k of random plant (X) they never bother selling, etc. Let me reiterate what I think about the bonuses for Gold Membership Perk: they should not grant a massive advantage over regular players, but they should carry enough virtues to be reasonably sought after. If you don't want to grant anything other than small bonuses to the Perk, then really there isn't a point in implementing it. You're reaction seems a bit alarmist; including a few thought-out extras will not ruin the game. I don't understand why you're so vehemently opposed to the addition of something that would make players actually want to buy and renew their Gold Membership, since the object of our discussion is to think about extras that would not grant a major advantage or cause a dichotomous split in the population.
  15. Increased Gc drops from monsters

Apologies, but I'm not reading through some six pages of verbose ramblings Summary of my opinion: Training should be sustainable, not profitable. Hunting, on the other hand, should yield a profit if you devote time to finding the right energy expenditure/energy gain ratio (yay, Biology!) for a creature you decide to kill. The reason I think training should only be sustainable is because of the ease at which both attack and defence (and OA) experience is gained with fighting. I'm not stepping on toes by saying training A/D is easier, but the experience from A/D training comes considerably faster than any other skill.
  16. Gold membership

The problem with those benefits is exactly that, though, they're token. Nobody will bother renewing if the changes aren't something that other players can't (easily) get their hands on. I would ask that you read my suggestions and review, mind you... I just had another thought on this... Perhaps, to make the Gold Member Perk more useful, the number of spaces in storage could be reduced? This actually comes from another game I played awhile ago, where your character started off with a limited number of slots (10, or so) and you could 'upgrade' your storage to something like, 5-10x that number buy procuring a rare gemstone. Maybe the same could be applied to EL: reduce the # of slots in storage, and then offer an increased number of spaces as a bonus of GM Perk.... It might also be a good idea to create a rare stone which would do this, and could be found in-game, of course.
  17. Guess the player name!

\o/ & Okay, this might be a bit hard, so I'll give some clues: First picture: Think phonetics, specifically the first syllable of the word that describes this picture. Uhm, the word is also the prefix of (royal?) surnames, and it sounds French. Second picture: Yeah, Brad Pitt, that's only for Sonic, but think about what Brad Pitt actually is . Oh, and forget the signature and other stuff.
  18. Gold membership

Whining? I don't see who or what is trying/supposed to whine. I guess the premise of my post is thus: although I acknowledge that $$$ players will always have a significant advantage over non-paying players, there shouldn't be an absolutely massive gap in ability to play the game between these two players. There would be a (previously mentioned) dichotomy in EL, and while I'd probably end up converting to Gold Membership myself, I hope this system will be implemented in such a way it gives the other players an equal opportunity at everything I do. Hey, I think I'll refer to Gold Membership as the GM Perk, since its a little less confusing. Suggestions for what should be included in Gold Membership Perk: -Doubled/increased harvest-experience period for all harvestables. This is hardly unfair as a Player X with GM Perk potentially harvests 240 BQ for SRs, while Player Y harvests, say, Dung for Engineering. At the end of the day it only comes down to how the player allocates his experience, and at worst the non-paying player can catch up to the payer buy doing more harvesting. -Reduced break-rate. Not like, a whole new stage of degradation, but a collection of static numbers that would reduce the chance of any items breaking. This all boils down to luck: potentially the payer with Gold Membership Perk will break more items than the non-payer with a +900 Degrade Astrology. Conversely, Payer X breaks fewer items than non-payer who has taken Skeptic. All depends on the numbers. -Custom, 'shop-only' character customisation. Perhaps Roja could design some more models, which could only be accessed through Gold Membership Perk. Like, new clothing (with logos? I <3 NY ? ), or a specific face-customisation extra (like, how you can customise your Sims), etc. There would be one change included in the initial purchase of Gold Member Perk, but all subsequent require an additional static fee. -Additional item quick-slots. OK, so some custom clients already have this, but it's a bonus nonetheless for people who can't/don't program their own client. Ideally, someone like Labby/bluap/another official dev would code these to actually fit in the EL window, without looking out of shape. -More spaces in storage. Not sure if this would be useful... maybe just another side bonus. Fifty, or so?, additional spaces in storage. -Increase on harvesting speed. Not a huge increase, but maybe static-harvest items (like Silver) could be reduced by maybe a second, or half a second. Maybe this shouldn't be combined with the increased harvesting experience though... Not sure if that would be overpowered. -Adjusted NPC buy/sell prices. Make it profitable to trade with NPCs, or create an NPC which buys all the crap people generally don't use. I'd like to see the former idea implemented, if it is to be, though. Would that tempt you into subscribing, ohmygod? ----- The real problem with any benefits though is the problem we're having with supply and demand at the moment. The above suggestions would lead to even more saturation of raw materials, and yeah although some of them would be used, a lot would just sit in storage.
  19. Guess the player name!

Mini(on)07? 2cute (not sure how 07 gets into that tho...) French and cute... hmm... Only two cute French people in game, and neither of them fit the images
  20. Gold membership

@ohmygod: Although some of the ideas are cool, wouldn't the first two suggestions (in the same line) make magic training/PKing a lot easier for the gold members? I'm not sure if that's a bad thing, I just wouldn't like someone gaining a huge advantage over the regulars. The degraded items would be cool, but that doesn't really help the problem with supply and demand we're having just now. Rostogols... mhm, not so sure. It would be a cool idea, but if a rostogol is passed between gold members then additional programming will be needed to ensure rostogols are still exiting the game. Food reduction would require like, a whole redesigning of the mixing window, would it not? I think that's a lot of work, but then if the reduction is only like, 5 FP, then I don't think it would grant a huge advantage.
  21. Mini Harv Events

I strongly doubt that. Newbies will lose a lot of income if NPCs won't buy the flowers they are encouraged to pick (lilacs, lupines). off-topic: Although, you know, seeing some kind of dynamic pricing system for the NPCs might be cool: (new) players would sell flowers/ores to NPCs, which in turn could 'increase trade' with the magic shops, thus lowering the price of essences. Not sure if it'd work, but it would encourage NPC interaction, if anything. @Hussam: But if the general populace of EL sees these new events as negative, and they were introduced specifically to counter gold-farming, then the people who don't gold-farm, and find them annoying, are penalised, no?
  22. Cost of death poll... what are you willing to risk?

Actually, the problem for me is not losing a rostogol (I can visit DPA2 and enjoy the ND anyway), it's getting the money together for armour and supplies, with the risk of competing against people my level. Not that I'm objecting to your point, just thought it was worthy of note, considering I'd think other people are in the same situation, (need money for supplies, need to gain levels to not be uberpwned).
  23. Cost of death poll... what are you willing to risk?

I was thinking, "what an arbitrary number for the price of rostogols." and then it hit me, you're using the current USD-GC exchange rate, right? In spite of sounding completely cheap, why don't we take the 'norm' price of 1USD-5kgc and place the rostogols at 5kgc price. I'm not sure if this would affect gold farming though, but if rostogols were made cheaper surely it would be more beneficial to buy straight from radu, rather than going through a third party gold seller?
  24. EL Polls

Damn, now I'll need to make a poll about whether to have this 'poll: should we have more polls' thread replaced by a 'poll: should poll discussion threads be prohibited' thread .
