  1. Hi all. Not trying to start a flame. There are many post lately on summoning and here are a few obseravations and suggestions I have.

     

    1) Mix all feature. Does not work with summoning. This would be very usefull as it stands. But I understand this would create too much lag.

     

    2) You can not summon while fighting unless you use a stone. This "feature" is a little odd to me. It would seem to me if your in a fight, you might want to summon up a nice Artic Chimmy to help you. Yes you can summon it before the fight, but you never know exactly who and when you will be needing it to fight, and may not want to waste the ingredents.

     

    3) Cool down on disengagement rings, for the above purpose, and for tiger effect is dangerously long. So the only option is to use summon stones.

     

    4) Gypsum is very heavy, and a bit difficult to find. This is more of an annoyance then anything. Think we can all live with that.

     

    5) NPC prices for stones are a bit cheap. takes profits away from the PRO summoners (I dont have this problem yet myself)

     

    It would be nice to see summoning a bit more usefull. It might be worth while to look into a future release with the "old school" summoning revamped to a neocracy skill. Making summon stones for all creatures rabits, rats, to giants using different combinations of ores, minnereals, LE, srs etc. Perhaps with different creatures there could be different special effects. As there are with Tigers/bears/spiders. Gargolyes, perhaps, since made of stone, could increase break rate of being hit with metal wepons. I am well aware these suggestions would be extreamly hard to implement. It just seems to me to be very little reward for taking the time to level summoning to very high levels, as opposed to other PK skills.

  2. I have to agree. Not many persons would no how to down load a sorce package over CVS, modify and compile it to something usefull. Some will. However, this would not stop cheating at all. Multible machines? or a virtual machine (emulator) to run more clients. There are ways around this. If there was to be a 1 charater at a time rule, it would have to be done (to be most efective) at the server side. (IP adress is already logged in etc) Though clever people with proxy servers could get around this also. Best to keep things the way they are. And as far as multible clients go, I can barely manage one charater at a time effectively. Hats off to those that can do more.


  3. My Charater is anti social. But I think a 1/20 chance is a bit too high. maybe 1 in 10. Would give crafters a good market. I would suggest 15K or more for the medalion. Higher break rate and no cool down. That way could be used to buy higher end items (like the odd new book that comes into game) but would be usless for buying pots from Mira. Things that take a lot more interation. I think both Fighters and Crafters would be happy with this Medalion. Good idea


  4. The way I see it, as this game is always evolving, rostogols are not just put in place to protect the fighters, however also to protect the whole economy. There would be no need for some one to develop Manufature skills above 30 if people would not buy the expensive armors and wepons for PK, Crafters would be out of buisness making Med of life, COL for PK. It may seem that if you drop these items there will be a higher demand, however most people that would drop these items would not risk them therefore killing the market completely. At level 30 Manu, crafting, alch and pot, you can make all the items needed for low level pk yourself, so team work would also deminsh rapidly. I thnk it was brought up before, might be nice if when a person loses rosto drops a Rostogol Fragment or something, and 10 of these put together will make a whole rosto.. But if not, take pleasure in pawning your enemeys and taking there rostogol, if not buy a branch and break there equipment. Or hang out in ROT in cheap gear and wait for someone who enjoys this style of PK to come. There are options.


  5. Well. Luci, and all you Noob Bashers.....How does it feel. Buy your way to the top, buy your hydro nexus, buy your nexus removal stones. Get very very strong, go out and branch, bash, smeg everyone in sight,,,its fun to be on top.. then...one second you jump into a battel that you mathematicly cant win. Mortos pks you for a rosto, and you cry like a IP newb about (umm big mean acelon in a fun event took my rosto). Well for someone that can afford 30+ Nexus removal stones..please stop whining. Was it fair you got pawned by a mod bot?..no. Was it fair you attack any one you see in sight? good on you. there are a lot of smiling faces to see you attacked by mortos. Count your blessings mortos didnt branch your new Dragon armor into nakedness.


  6. PK is not dead. There are many like myself that have dreams of one day being able to pk successfully. All I need is hydro nexus, a few Million GC's worth of nexus removal stones, 6 months on a fluffy spawn, 6 months on a yeti spawn. a few million GCs worth of EMPs Summon Stones, capes, Thermal weps, Special armor, and I will be ready. :) Pk is not dead, only most people who would like to PK are tired of lossing rostogols, having Special armors/wepons branched. So they are in Mass trainning mode, trying to get enough GC's and PP's to be successfull. As soon as I have 150AD, Hydro Nexus, 110+ Cooridination and Millions of GC's worth of gear equiped. I will have fun in PK. I no longer have fun, getting into a fight, dieing in a few hits and ending up in the underworld. Pk is not dead...Just 3/4 of the EL population are not ready for succesfull pk yet (me included)


  7. I have watched this thread with great intreset. I really thought most people would convey a voice of reason. And for the most part that is true. Multi-Playing in the way suggested is a bad idea. It is very good for the people that own a few computers, collect a welfare check, or have a wealthy Mommy or Daddy that supports the EL addictions. Very difficult for people that work full time jobs, or spend their days getting a proper education. For the most part it is difficult enough for a employed/family person to dedicate the time needed to compete with the dollar players. If given the oppertunity to play multible charaters, and multible clinets on multible computers. It will deminish the sense of hope that many of us share of being someday capable of being competive as a top player in any of the skills in game. The EL comunity is a very good one. If the people with all the time in the world, and a few machines running multible clinets can give thir main GC/Items it would give them such a great advantage that most more modest folk will quit playing EL and check out some of the other top 5 MMORGF's. This is my humble opinion.

  8. I tend to disagree, summon stones can be used during combat, why couldn't someone who has taken the time to level there summon skill also use that skill? Seems some one with a summon skill of zero, and buys summon stones has more of an advantage than someone who has high skills, but is unable to use them while fighting.

  9. Yes, One could use a dis ring and then try to summon. But then your faced with cool down on the rings. It seems that to use magic skill while fighting you dont have to Disengage, and if summoning is a skill that is only usefull in fighting, perhaps this should be the same. Just my opinion.

  10. I recently just noticed that summoning a creature is not possible while fighting another, other than the use of summon stones. It would be nice to be able to summon a creature after your attacked with skill. I was wondering if this is a bug. Since it is not able to use the manufature window while fighting, shuld this apply to summons? It would be nice for the high level summoners to use there skill in combat. Summon stones is of course an option, but not all animals/ creatures are able to be made into stones. Summon Stones also have a cooldown, where as I think a pro summoner should have the option to summon creatures to help them when in PK situations.

     

    Any ideas?? or comments?

  11. I have one question about #arm Light Modifier. When I have a modifier of +10 I am very visable to other charaters with perception 4. When I bring my light Modifer down to negitive 2 I am just as visable to the same person within one step. I had thought that if I had a negitive light modifier, I would be invisbale, or nearly invisable to anyone with only base perception. The test was done at night 4 times, in different directions. Is this a bug? or do I not understand the light modifer completely?
