  1. Day of Recycling

Keep in mind that when people use day stones to force a specific day, a side effect is it appearing as if the chances for other days is reduced since using a stone might have prevented a random day from appearing. So the more you use day stones, the less often you will see the other days!
  2. Change Hulda exit

Just make sure you don't take that exit then!
  3. More Day stones

There are too many special days already, enough that an Ordinary day is already a rare beast! Add more variety might not be bas, but makable stones would be the pits!
  4. Any 100+ a/d gap?

    200s !
  5. Text command #goto

Personally people use coords way too much and I'd have preferred if they had been removed totally.
  6. Why does new character start a level 7?

Because the rabbits can kill you too easily.
  7. About others EL servers

Those other two servers do have licenses for the server code as well as to use the artwork. Those license were of course gotten from Entropy & Roja under legal agreements with them.
  8. New OpenGL2 client

First go to the Intel site to see if there are updated drives that support OpenGL 2.0 or higher. It all depends on whether or not Intel has been releasing updated drivers
  9. bots with no gc

I don't see any evidence or rationale for saying that out of money bots keep prices high. If a bot can't actually buy at its advertised price, then that price becomes irrelevant. Because unaware people use the bots advertised inflated buy price to justify a higher sell price, even when that bot can't pay.
  10. Some routers down

Bad routers as well as ports being blocked are part of the reason my proxy server is available for those die-hards that don't want to wait for them to get their act together. While there is no guarantee that my proxy's will help, it does give an alternatice destination that often can bypass problems. This is only partially an ad for my proxy system $5/mth or $30/yr, be patient and they will fix those routers.
  11. izu...

No, or normal harvesting efforts would be considered blocking. We have to be reasonable as to when a resource is considered blocked or not.
  12. http://el.other-life.com pages are down

Thanks for the reminder, I forget to verify it was running after a restart yesterday.
  13. Liking forum posts

With millions of followers and how FB's posts are organized, it makes sense. In a forums related to EL with a much smaller group of people, it makes no sense at all.
  14. Flux.

While basic scams themselves aren't against the rules (due to the pain in trying to enforce, and desire that players actually think), Rule #18 does specifically include "Do not attempt to hack into someone else's account or convince them to give you or others their passwords, which is what you did while impersonating a mod. I fully support Aislinn decisions here. You do not seem to have learned what you have been doing is wrong, you have been causing trouble repeadly, and bad for the playing community! Ref: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14582 , Rule #18
  15. Lectures/Teaching

    Write a book!
  16. Android widget: EL Time

<br /><br /><br />Ditto ... I'd like to see it either open sourced or developed enough to have it a free download from the marketplace so people can install it easily. Yes, I've been doing Android dev work myself as well
  17. Disconnected from server!

Drats! Another sale lost! Seriously, congratulations!!
  18. Revise Multi Rule?

Ok, please write a script for me that detects a/s/l of a user, if he (or she) is good looking, their yearly income, attitude and a few more additional features. Of course without access to external big brother data bases, and i mean the real person sitting behind the computer, not the one registered at the internet provider. I believe you might be in for a nobel prize if you succeed! On the serious side, if we manage define an ordinary behaviour, we might be in for some fuzzy fun Entirely detached from multiplay, I like the ghost idea, it could pop up out of nowhere under certain circumstances, perhaps at midnight, shriek and haunt us a bit.. like lenny does.. could cast "life drain", or some other ghastly spells. But stealing from storage, in general, is a very bad idea- the storage should just stay as it is, reliable and continuous. Good looking and attitude they already have, as well as emotions, age, race, gender, sex
  19. #list_guild

No, they can't see the messages because they actually aren't in the guild. The #list_guild uses a list of names that is used ONLY for #list_guild. The real guild that a character is in that is used for everything is part of the character itself. When Entropy does the guild audit process that fixes #list_guild, he literally deletes all that information from all guilds and rebuilds it be scanning every single character in the syste, (which is why he doesn't do it often).
  20. I've seen games that allow you to specify multiple IP ranges in order limit access. That can help reduce the problems for non-static IP addresses. But, five or more ranges may needed by some players in order to cover them, and even then, there is still lots of opertunity for trouble makers to get in. Some places like Poland and Turkey use multiple small ranges of IP addresses, even for one location.
  21. bots with no gc

It is a complicated process, but can be done. My bots for years have adjusted their internal wanted lists & and advertisements based on available GC, EMU, number of slots, and your status with the bot (normal, friend, enemy) as well as a smart bot owner can even specify certain items are no longer desired if the available EMU is below a limit. In my case this information is available in game, not the website, since that is a general reference. This is something the bot developers have to do, first before the bot owners can do anything though. Yes, a bot owner should be responsible for making sure the bot has GC if he expects to buy the item, but he shouldn't have to keep adjusting his wanted list just because of the GC level since sometimes a bot can run out of GC in a very short time when expensive items are involved. This is an issue about features in the bot code, not how users use the bots.
  22. bots with no gc

Grrrrr.. obviously, Quesar and Nova, you are soon going to invent a bot that can read minds, the owner's as well as the customer's, and miraculously find an intelligent compromise that satisfies both sides. ok, having let off the steam, I agree with many here, owners should keep their prices up to date, and putting very unrealistic prices (in the hope someone is an idiot or desperate) isn't exactly very becoming, either. Better take them off the INV/WANTED lists altogether. Those bots don't get many trades i hope. The orange for 19k advert is a good example for having become "the odd furniture" to instancers. But what can we do, when a bot owner is away from game ? This would be a good question to solve in this thread. As for the not enough gc issue, in any case it can only work with INV and WANTED, i guess you need to listen to Learner's and Dogbreath's assessments what is realistic to achieve, since the mind-reading computer (as opposed to many users' wishes) has not been built yet. I wonder how Dogbreath likes having all of the bots he hosts scraped every 15 minutes? Might also help explain why sometimes that service seems slow when you look at the number of bots involved. I make it a habit to block people that abuse my service like that with getting permission beforehand.
  23. bots with no gc

Just to let you know not all bots listed on that site, just those hosted there. I keep trying to spread the word about using querybot instead. A good chunk of bots are not listed by el-services. Thank you for bringing this up too. Using ANY external query service is likely to have even more outdated information then any other source. The information can easily be old or incorrect! Suggesting anyone use use a third party query tool to avoid a bot not having enough GC is NOT a good solution. Those sites are good for initial research, but not for anything that is valid. For instance, anyone attempting to scrap my bots websites will get DIFFERENT results there from WANTED ! In my case, the WANTED information is much more up to date & takes into account gc, slots, & EMU while the website shows the raw public wanted quantity without attempting to account for everything.
  24. bots with no gc

My bots Wanted lists already take into account gc, slots, & emu, but I can understand why most bots haven't jump through those hoops before. It also had confused some people as to why a bot didn't want something even though the bot owners were able to verify it was on the bots buy list. The smarter you make the code, the easier it is to confuse people until all the variables are tracked down and accounted for. With my bots it gets more complicated because friends can be given a discounts or bonus price on items, so 'friends' can see a different Wanted list then normal users because their prices are different. At least that was simplified some by using only the public [rice/wanted list for the ads, but it still puzzles some friends. The basic idea that a bot shouldn't advertise unless they can pay is good, but it gets more complicated from there
  25. bots with no gc

Because some bot code isn't as smart as others or the bot owners have hard coded ads. Either way, the bots would still like to be able to buy the item and most bots also trade items of equal value, so you can trade with them to get another item for what you sell to them even when they don't have any gc. If someone wants to sell items to a specific bot and they don't have gc, check their inventory for other things of interest! If you only want gc, then check other bots.
