Although in the long run I personally don't think player-to-player interaction would reduce all that much, I ofc can't know that 100% for sure, yours and Learner's (and others) concerns could be realised... but this is nuts. This year alone we've had over 70 posts in the Bans section and you know a damn good percentage of them are multiplay related. How many more players do we need to lose to this? Lots of people want to multiplay, and they want to continue playing EL enough that they're willing to scheme and lie and what not to (try to) get away with it. Trading between characters is allowed in many other MMO's (including the infamous WoW) and they still kick along fine. We even have PvE group activities in EL now such as instance and invances, the infrastructure is in place for more player interaction than ever before, but that means nothing if there's not plenty of players. Given that this has always been in place and enforcement has not been increased , how do you explain why we had asw mani players as we did for a while? That implies there are other more important factors then the multiplay rule making the argument that this rule is the reason for losing players insignificant.

This is a multiplayer game, and your supposed to interact with other players not have a love fest with yourselfs.

Maybe there's a secret you don't know about yet?

This suggestions ist to force a reconnect BEFORE the press any key would do a connect. That means the client requesting a disconnect first if it thinks it's connected, then starting a new connection.
-
Keep in mind that a reconnect option would probably make Entropy add login spam detection for people constantly reconnecting. Making a connection to the server is 'expensive' and always requires logging in and being sent ALL data to you and resends your char to everyone around you. Now think of the troublemakers that might try to lag people out around them by constantly reconnecting, or other attempts to cause problems. He's already gotten pissed off at some bots that got stuck in loops trying to login. That means this isn't just a client side decision, Entropy needs to be involved as well.

For the longest time you couldn't even make vials at all! So even if the mold is breaking often for you, it's still a big step up from how it used to be!

Yes, a we need a Belle outfit for someone well known for it

To wear or to wield?
-
Possibly, but half of what I said still applies. the server would need to track that specific item in detail for every player, and if you do that how many other items will the server need to track?
-
The server does not support 'unique' or level based items. In order for anything like this to be implemented the server would have to be tracking how many you made and produce a different item other then an SRS, and they would take additional storage slots as well. I do not expect that Entropy would want to start adding anything like that any time in the near future.

I suggest you don't do hyperbags or any bags at all, just make the bars at the iron ore. Not risk of losing your stuff and reducing the iron to bars means fewer trips to striage without needing to become a mule.

The last thing we want is a pack of little gossips running around!

Has anyone created a new version of this file? The new version should be available now.

Hard to add a video card to laptops and some desktop systems even. One note to people with really new Intel laptops, the ones with two videos chips, you might have to tell the machine EL is a 3D app or you will get horrible FPS
-
Have Radu sell them USB dongles that let them have access, so that way they at least have something physical they have to use and cant just tell people how to get access.
-
Because they might try to find other ways in to do worse things.
-
And let the mail system charge 10% for shipping & handling.

C2 Ranging arena that is large enough for high level rangers

Think of how lucky you are even to have a ranging arena! -
I'm not talking about, say, going from Votd outside map (map5nf.elm) to inside a house, in the inside map (map5nf_insides.elm); that clearly is a change to a different map. What I'm talking about is, for example, the ladders in Bethel, climbing up or down the ladder but staying on the same map (cont2map2.elm) still triggers Hellspawn. When you use a ladder, even staying on the same map, it is still considered going to a new map by the server.

Remember, there are actually two different pathfinders in use, and I suspect the problem is that the one in the client isn't taking into account all of the restrictions the server uses. The server only does short distance path finding in a limited area. For example, if the clients path for the next step goes outside of that area, and then returns or it takes too many steps because of twists and turns, the server will ignore the requested destination.

As someone who's also suffered a loss, my deepest sympathy for her family and friends.

Messages from the server are NOT null terminated! If you need null terminated information you need to use the length information to determine where the end is. Thanks for that Learner. My problem is determining length information from the stream, ie the initial packet from the server looks something like Test Server! in which case, my assumption was that the ord of the first char () would be the server message, and the ords of the two subsequent chars () would be the length information. However, this seems not to be the case. The length is the second and third bytes and to most people it will appear to be one byte too long because the message type bytr is counted. If you aren't getting the proper length, then you might be using the bytes in the wrong order, they are in Intel byte ordering.
