I did a search on this, and didn't locate anything, but a search for "thread" gave me a zillion hits =] Now that thread is manufactureable, from cotton, I had a thought. The spiders also drop thread, at a much reduced rate now that thread is manufactureable, but, spider thread is not cotton, it's a very unique material. Perhaps, some of the rarer items, armors etc, could require spider thread, instead of cotton thread to be manufactured. Would help with items flooding in, as well as get rid of those creepy spiders infesting EL. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Exactly my point, required level implies that once you get there, you can make the item, cast the spell, etc. and that you won't fail. Semantics to be sure, but it is misleading and or confusing. Suggested/recommended levels implies that you can try once you reach a certain level, but no guarantees.

Well, at 50% fail rate, then the concept of required/recommended is almost useless, perhaps suggested level would make more sense.

If the alchemy system goes to a required level, then the fail rates would need to drop significantly after attaining that level. A master of a craft does not fail as often as an apprentice. The good thing about the current system, you have far more items failing, and it helps keep the market from being flooded. Also, I seriously disagree about alch being an easy skill, the sheer mind numbing task of gathering and then grinding out thousands of essences, plus the fail rates, the crit fails, and the food requirements, meh, and people ask me why I drink =]

An early warning system is great, and I would contribute, in the spirit of community, but as a low level fighter, I have always felt that the invasions benefitted the fighter class only. And also those who enjoy bagjumping in the ensuing chaos, I usually log out when there's an invasion, so an early warning system would let me know when to hit alt-x.

Just think of the "1"s as a yes and the "0"s as a no. You might try sticking a 1, a yes, in front of the poor man option to switch off the fancy stuff.

I'm running a Newcastle Core AMD 64 3000 cpu, SSE2 client should be groovy for me. Also I have the audio enabled. I'm getting that Error Initializing Sound : Invalid Operation error like on the last update.
