Well, if your just starting out reading i strongly advise reading the father of fantasy, JRR Tolkeins Middle earth, both the Hobbit and LOTR, and perhaps Jack Vances "dying earth" though that is more of a aquired taste. Those two writers contributed the most to todays fantasy literature and games. It was tolkien that created Elves (as they are seen as fair, pointy eared, almost ranger like culture), dwarves (again seen as they are today, rough, strong, excellent miners and craftsmen), and Hobbits. It was Jack Vances magic system that D&D basically stole (not that I am complaining mind you, its a good system) including some direct spells such as the 9th level wizard spell "Imprisonment" is "the Spell of Forlorn Incystment" with a different name and there are a few others, including "Ioun Stones", but in a nut shell those two writers i strongly advise you reading. And yes, Robert Jordans Wheel Of Time is a excellent story, with THE most beleavable (incorrect spelling?) world in a fantasy series. Hope this helps a bit.

Sorry you feel that way about me, that was not my intent, my intent was to bring to the attention of entropy a possible offensive name, nothing more.

I apologize to everyone, this was never meant to be anything serious, i merely thought that the name "satanic squadran" was offensive, Entropy has made his own thoughts on this subject clear, as has everyone else, I am not going to try and convince Entropy to ban the guild. Again, I apologize to everyone who might have gotten upset or untowards feelings from this thread. Perhaps some day I will start a religous disscussion on these forums (with entropys permission) and you can all get on and post your opinions and we can have a indepth disscussion, but not today or even soon, I dont want to be responsible for starting a flame war.

ok, i did not realize there would be so many responses, first off, it was not lucifers thirst for power that led to his fall, it was his envy of gods creation of humans (basically he got jealous of humans), and yes, satanism (in its true meaning) should be taken as offensive to any christian, but i am not here to preach on religion, or try and convert anyone, or try and convince Entropy to ban the guild, i merely thought to bring the guilds name to attention.

If that is your say. but if I may, not to contradict you, but satan is the fallen angel who is the root of evil, even humans evil is rooted to him, it was because of him that we are a fallen race, and i imagine that if you ask any christian on the game if satan is offensive the answer will most probably be yes but again, its your game, your judgment call. thank you for responding. (Edit): also before his fall his name was not satan, it was lucifer (incorrect spelling?)

I am greatly pleased that the makers and keepers of the game have done such a good job with keeping things balanced, it is good to see people that are banned for offensive language/names/behavior, by banning such players you have done great work in keeping the game fun for everyone. It came as a shock then to discover as I was scrolling through the guild list a guild called "Satanic squad", is this not in direct contradiction of your policy against offense names/behavior/language?, or do names that are only offensive to other religions not count into the facter?.
