  1. If 1 in every 10,000 fluffies drops a NMT it takes a LONG while for a fighter to get one. If you can kill 1 fluffy per minute it takes 10,000/60 = 167 hours to get one.
  2. PM a bot owner and tell them you'll buy serpent stones for 3000 each and maybe prepay a few, and you'll have a very steady supply (just how desperate are you? ). Lots of bots buy them, and they usually keep them for themselves. If the price is right I'm sure they'll sell... indeed, you can buy all my 177 serpent stones for 3k each.
  3. I think the lowest possible chance for *anything* is 1/10,000. (At least this was the case). So i guess the 1/40k chance is because the NMT protects itself
  4. If you have trouble buying them, you are just not offering the right price i.i.r.c i have 177 serpent stones in storage, and thats just because a long time ago i traded 50 for an orc slayer. Seemed like a decent deal at the time, but now i see the stones as an investment. Their price will only go up! As with any investment there are risks to this: If Ent decides to make them be found every 100 harvests i have lost a fortune. Thats why i AM willing to sell them, but for the right price
  5. El item stats

Hmmm, makes me wonder who is the owner of that other 1M gc.... I am a sucker for these kind of stats too. I am sure i would do well in the top titanium axe books

  7. Shutdown Day

I dont think my boss would like it if i tried to work a whole day without using my computer. Programming on paper is so... 1960's? I think 24 hours without an internet connection would already be kind of a challenge in my line of work.
  8. New playable race unveiled!

what will be the cooldown time for fish? Man, i hate to say this, but the RL $$ kids are gonna have so much advantage now!! Plus it will ruin the economy and kill PK!!!
  9. New idea...new problem?

i made about 5k fe's today with them. They are pretty good for that. For other items you have to eat a lot more, so the poison might be too bad. It can be used as a nice addition to feasting pots, tho. For example while making steel bars, your FPs dont cooldown fast enough, so you can eat them when its cooling down. I dont think they are too good, and thats coming from someone with about 15k FPs in storage.
  10. Suggestion about scamming

-edit-: Never mind, i see we get a warning at startup now. Btw, i know it's hard for mods to go after all scammers, but imo they should be banned. Their sole purpose is to spoil the fun for other players anyway. I really wouldn't mind if they were all banned. Nobody would miss them. Too bad this is probably undoable ;/
  11. Lottery - Week of 2007-01-15

gratz Jaclaw Next lottery is mine 8) edit: That's nonsense. Everyone can afford 1 ticket. If people buy a lot of tickets, they will also lose more if they dont win. The rich getting richer is not happening. If all the rich players buy tickets, only 1 rich person wins. Only 90% of the revenues are given as a prize, so actually 'the rich' are getting poorer as a group.
  12. Why dont people PK anymore?

The reason i don't PK much: There is nothing to gain, only to lose. Without a CoL and some decent equipment you cant make a kill. But when you got that in your inventory, you are not gonna risk PKing without rostogol stone. Everybody thinks that way, so everybody takes a rosto along. The best you can get out of PKing is not losing your own rosto. Especially with all the new cooldown weapons and monsters, you cant always flee with dis/ring. So you cant really risk going without a rosto. I do go sometimes without rosto, but then without CoL and fancy armors and weapon. Then it's really hard to win a fight even against someone 30 levels below you. And even if you win, you gain nothing. Except for some fun of course, thats the only reason i do it. No drop or no break day are fun days for PKing, untill some people show up with BroDs to spoil the fun for everyone. That about sums it up for me.
  13. Lottery - Week of 2007-01-15

omg! roflolol didnt read all post but i want win!!!! rofolllollol your post is 2 long d00de so how i win....plzzz!!!! Ah ok, i read it now. Guess i will buy a ticket then.
  14. Special stones

i found 2 binding stones in 100k coal. So the chances really arent that good Hmm, i might have found a serpent stone too... On sulfur i found nothing after about 60k. But chances on random events are pretty low on sulfur anyway
  15. Rosto's

i like the idea of the rosto in several stages. It has the benefits of how the rosto is used now. If you want to, you can make sure you lose no items by carrying a brand new rosto. Another way, thats probably easier to implement: Rosto protects all your gear like it does now, but when you die it has a 50% chance to drop or be destroyed. Pkers will have 50% chance of getting a drop, while the rosto's still slowly disappear from the game.
  16. Rule 5 alterations

So this would mean someone could make a guild of all his alts, let them make money, and let the bot/guild storage act as a middleman to get the money to the main character? Would be very wrong imo.
  17. I got a suggestion, which will probably be liked by crafters, and actually by most other players as well. The suggestion is a new teleporting device that will teleport not the player, but an item. To storage. You would have to use the teleporting device with the item you want to teleport to storage. After that, the teleporting device would disappear, and the item you chose will be in your storage. The advantages should be pretty obvious, for example, if you are harvesting silver ore you can send all the ore to storage once you are full. Only the ores you are carrying, of course, or else you would be able to make a bag of 10k and send it all in one go. This should make it equally beneficial to both people with high or low emu. It just saves them a trip to storage. The advantage for the crafters should be nice too. Finally an item they can make that would be in high demand, because it will be used lot, and disappears after usage. There will be an advantage to fighters as well. If you finally get that random drop, you can send it off to storage right away For the teleporting device i would suggest something like a 'teleport bag'. The bag should be manufactured by the manufacturing skill by mixing up some threads and leather and should be pretty cheap. Then the crafter should perhaps add some essences or a new ring to it, and voila, we have a teleport bag. If this is 'too good to be true', it could be so that there is a chance that you randomly lose a % on the way. Say you got 100 ores on you, only 80 would actually make it to storage. Would make it a bit risky for fighters who want to send rare drops to storage, tho... What do you think? Please discuss any pro's and con's, imbalances, ect. --- edit to clear things up: You cannot send bags to storage, only items you have in your inventory
  18. Quote of the week submissions

sorry, but i just HAD to post this link. clicky
  19. teleport bags

Exactly, adding too much negative side effects defeats the whole purpose of a high demand crafting item. No one will use it. Another idea that pops to my mind: The bags will be pretty cheap, but you have to have an amount of gc on you. For each emu you send, 1 gc will be subtracted. If you dont have enough gc on you, only a part of the bag/inventory will be send. Hmm, perhaps it should be a little less than 1 gc per emu, maybe 1gc for 2 emu. Nobody is gonna send iron ore to storage at 4gc each. On the other hand, 3gc to send a cape to storage may be somewhat cheap. Of course the bag will vanish, so you always have the base cost of the bag. Sending larger quantities is relatively cheaper than sending single ones. Think of the gc cost as stamps for the bag you are sending
  20. teleport bags

lol no, no. There should be a chance that instead of the bag going to storage, your storage comes to your bag. Your ENTIRE storage.
  21. Store All button

sounds like a good idea. Could there also be an 'unequip all', or even a 'equip all' button? The last is a bit more difficult, i agree. Back from training: unequip all, store all, done
  22. teleport bags

Or, you can use a ring *poof* to the closest storage at half the price, and only have to walk half the way after that. Only if you are willing to pay the price for all the teleport bags. It would be easier to pick out the expensive stuff and *poof* you teleport yourself to a safe map and put it in storage. Much cheaper. Sure, if you want to send each non stackable potion to storage, each in its own bag. It would be cheaper to drop the potions and with the money you saved out from not teleporting them to storage, you can buy 5 times the potions later on. I agree that this suggestion might be a little too good for harvesters. That's why i also suggested that maybe only 80% of the resources make it to storage. Or perhaps even 20% chance that it will all be lost. You wont have many people sending their just found NMT cape to storage then Or perhaps there should be different sizes of bags, each with their maximum amount of emu that can be send. Of course the smaller bags will be cheaper, so people with small p/c can use a cheaper bag than people with big p/c. The main idea was that there would be a useful consumable crafters item. I tried to suggest something thats not too powerful to use (It's not THAT much better than normal teleport rings), but still powerful enough to be in high demand.
  23. teleport bags

So the 'teleport bag' affects the bag you are standing over (cf. 'skull key'). So the 'teleport bag' affects a stack in your inventory? These are two quite different approaches. The first would have huge ramifications to the economy, as pointed out. The latter is probably acceptable (if the teleport bag item itself did not stack). Maybe not totally clear, but my suggestion was to only transport the things you are carrying. If this was not the case, you could send a whole bag, which is not good.
  24. teleport bags

10k iron is 40k emu = 80 trips. This would still mean that 80 teleport bags should be used to get it all to storage. Say a teleport bag costs 200gc, then it would cost 16,000 gc. Not sure if this really makes life that much easier for them. In my experience, gathering the ore takes much longer than running it to storage. Instead of teleport bags you could just use teleport rings as well. If you are harvesting coal in DP, you could use a DP ring to quickly store it too.
  25. Ok, so i had a little accident with an arctic chim. I am glad Entropy Dr. Privantustein could assemble the severed parts he found over several maps, and put me back together... somewhat. He is the before/after result. before: after: thanks!
