  1. Hello, While exploring Narlik I cam upon a house which the walls did not show nor did the floor, and in the middle of the room there is a nifty black box that says "Bad Object" all over it. The cords. to the house is 128,58 and here is a few screen shots of it: http://www.geocities.com/txmoneinch they are the only two pics that load on the page
  2. or you could just remove all collision detection for person to person and just eliminate blocking in one fail swoop
  3. there really could be some more foxes/fox spawns in the game. It is getting very difficult to up your manu levels trying to make anything that requirs fox furs because there is so few foxes and so many people needing them with in the game. A nice voice over IP system would be great. Making it an ambient VoIP system would own anything else out there. What I mean is make weather or not you can hear a person talking and the volume you hear them at relative to the distance they are from you. It would also be very nice if guilds could get their own "channel" (like with text chat), but with the guild "channels" you can talk to the other guild members no matter where they are in game. Doing this utilizing a low bandwith consuming codec would be awesome.
  4. WEell one of the problems i have seen with my time playing EL is that there is no linear charecter development and at times you have to harvest like crazy to lvl up enough to harvest something to beable to lvl up in another skill. A prime example of what i am talking about is the Magic, Alch and Cummoning. To start out in magic you need health essences, but you cannot make health essences untill you are lvl 23 alch. To start out in summoning you need life essences, but inorder to make them you need to be lvl 17 in alch and inorder to harvest everything to make them you need to be atleast lvl 24 harvest, This is not very Linear. And a lot of the stuff needed to buy the things to make the essences or to just buy the essense them selfs requires alot of $$. Which, of course, there is money to be made with harvesting things and selling them. Plus i have noticed that the server handles weather there is a sucess or not in harvesting, as the server handles just about everything else putting just about the entire load of everything on the server box. People are going to harvest till no end no matter what you do. Which i honestly dont see how having a super high harv lvl can effect who/what/how someone fights or where they can go just what they can harvest. Let them harvest untill they break their mouse from clicking the button 5,000,000,000,000 times, simply make it to where the client handles all the math on the success and non success so it occupies all of THEIR CPU cycles and NOT the servers which will reduce some of the system latency not lag from the server everyone experiences from time to time.
  5. linux: open(al,gl)

welp the SDL opengl wrapper was just an idea. And like Cicero, i would really like to see this bug fixed too. Possible something in the stencil buffer or shadow engine?
  6. linux: open(al,gl)

welp i dont know much about coding my guess would be its something to do with rendering the clouds shadows on thr ground but i honestly really dont know whats causing it.
  7. linux: open(al,gl)

ok nm about openal, i have managed to get that working YAY! but the opengl problem sill remains
  8. linux: open(al,gl)

greetings everyone. on opengl i belive i might have found a bug. The current date/time: 2/23/04 3:06 CST. I last updated from cvs about an hour and half ago. But onto the problem. When compiled and linked against NVidia version of ogl EL fails to load some textures in game. Well it seemd to fail in loading the ground textures. I have tried this with the 4496 and the 5336 nvidia drivers and the problem remains the same. Other apps that have been compiled and linked agains the same ogl version have not experienced this problem. I have provided a SS it is the first pic on the site: http://www.geocities.com/txmoneinch now onto openal... I am about at my wits end with this. I have tried just about everything and cannot get sound to work. I am using alsa drivers version 1.0.2c and libs/utils version 1.0.2. I belive i have compiled openal in just about every way imaginable. and tried it with alsa, esd, artsd, and SDL (with the back ends compiled into openal of course) and still nothing. and i have tried every combination of them in the .openalrc file and still no sound :x can anyone be of soem help on this one??
  9. new player questions

whilest i cannot be much help on your questions for i am a nub my self at EL. I would like to take this time to further suggest a questlog/journel or something for allowing easy reference for your current quest for schmucks like my self that decide to play stonded and about 10 minutes into a quest you just kinda daze out into a day dream for a few seconds and then you come back and all you can do is sit there staring at the screen thinking "wait.... wtf was i doing again?? where the heck was i going?!?!" or the dubious next morning syndrome.. "What the... wait... where did all my stuff go!?!" or "Where the heck am i?!?" or "I know i was suppost to SOMETHING around here, but what the heck was it??"
