My guess based on little testing is that critical to dmg ignores toughness or part of it. If this is the case, the change doesn't seem so small. This assumption is based on character with maxed toughness that gets +~15 dmg after update. I'd like to hear experiences from other players too, since there might be a-d gap involved too. The char I used to test this with is 7/93. If you don't notice any change in normal creature bashing, it's highly likely a gap issue only. #edit: Seems to be same results with 89/57 char. Increased critical dmg received.

The cost effectiveness can also be covered with different rate of breaks - make the pickaxe manufactured by players a slightly different item. Won't break so often, but you get more injuries using one. Also have a chance to make a special pickaxe, one that has bigger break rate but also more chance for special stones, or added health regeneration or chance to not stop harvesting on minievent. Something ppl pay tons of gc but get practically nothing in return. Oh, and those fancy picks should glow, and old bulk picks should have "Made in MM by Tankel" when using eye icon and every time they break you curse Tankel.

Korrode forgot the option of allying all and joining the gangbang at any level counting on critical hits and equipment. Get magic level enough to cast MI without failing. While at it I'd recommend focusing on the art of PK especially on flaming department. Start with "your mother" -related flames (rec flame lvl 5) and with grinding some levels there you'll eventually be ready to flame on unoff forums (rec lvl 25) or troll here (get evade moderator attention -perk) Around Flame lvl 85 or higher you should be able to make newbies log off crying and oldbies heat up so good they fail to function properly and are easier kills. But honestly imo, you should be able to get some fun in PK even with 110+'s a/d. Even earlier if you're good and got some other skills Korrode mentioned (hybrid approach.) Ofc those levels you'll be mainly cannon fodder since the top got good load of bought pps and ad 140+, but there will also be moments of glory. Just need tons of gc to spend. Best advice(?) is to just go in even at lower levels to see what's happening out there, too many ppl just grind (for years...) hoping to one day fight the top. And not every PKer is an asshole towards lower levels. Just don't whine even when slaughtered and you'll get better welcome.

Bot is only a bot. PK isn't just mechanical swap this and that. True PK is about mindfuck and that's something you get to only with real opponent. The idea in itself is nice though. Still... a little bit of community activity and friendliness towards other will work just the same or better. Imo the best way to get more ppl to test and learn PK is to give a chance of soft reset. A special day that lets you redistribute pp's and at the new day you're back to normal and all exp from the special day is gone. All you get is pps worth all the skill exp, no bought pp beasts for the day. Can't think of a way to make entering a PK field any lower, and those ppl not actively PKing but enjoying other aspects of the game can finally just whack eachother silly (yes, they can do it without the day too, but do they? If there is this day, would they? mhm). No need to spend endless hours of programming and testing to make a bot.

This is a char build for laughs and good time. The aim is to make attack higher than your defence. This will not make you über epic figter due to getting hit by weaker, but ofc if you manage to hit harder than them you have a chance. In plain PvE it can be interesting for lower levels too. The whole idea of getting more att than def is to get hit, and hit back. Now getting hit hurts, especially on lower levels. Remedy for this is toughness, which also reduces damage from critical to damage hits (those that bypass armour) For starts you need to get basics right. Exc cape, basic essence and harvestable knowledge and inorganic nexus of 2. You will spend all pps on only phys to get emu. Mix FEs for base gc, then start harvesting silver and mixing HEs. For added leveling speed you will want to buy silver to make more in less time. Spend a month with alchemy, you will be late 60's alch and overall. The farther you make it this way, the easier it will be for you. Spend all pps to max physique + vitality. Get attack and magic god. For perks you can take scotty, PH, anti (stock some FPS to mix HE for training) and ICD (you aren't blocking with this build). Train your magic to be able to restore. Get a rapier and a BP cape. Check good critical hits astro day and go beat ogres. The toughness will absorb most hits and you'll level fast. If ogre is too much heat for you, downgrade to lower lvl mobs. Or if you're hardcore, go kill those fluffies. Doable with 18/7 ad, get some healing potions to secure healing. On bad astro days go harvest silver to get gc, it's np to harvest 10k silver a day if you play active and that's 25k gc a day. Tou won't need much armour, an aug set will do fine, but getting a CoL will help you with failing restore. A gatherer med or a MoL are fun to have too. Some tips: Get a damaged red dragon set and train in it, it is affordable and will annoy most ogre trainers away from spawns with several mobs. If you know someone pvping, go hit them with rapier+bp. The pvpers keep hitting each other, no risk for you. This is the Bellatrix build, quite entertaining tbh. (But if you want to be serious PKer/trainer/whatnot, this isn't for you)

Not the highest, but one of the highest with attack > defense: 89/56 http://game.eternal-lands.com/view_user.php?user=bellatrix

prkl is interested if same person can take part in several categories. The actual part taking is dependant on the rules and restrictions. 5k entry fee is np.

Tahraji Desert was made no rosto, no summon stone, cooldown of 1 map ages ago. The map itself is awesome, imo. Flaw atm is that it is promised land for mages, why not summoners too. What I have understood is that the whole point in the map was to get a feeling of old times PK and drops. There used to be lots of peeps venturing in, but after the OP mages stepped in the rest stepped out. Use of TD is mostly shield casting, some LD and bit of mixing atm. If TD is made to have old magic formulas - no rationality modifiers, Summons tweaked not to do multisummon in TD (acw especially). If someone wants to summon red dragon, let them. Engineering items disabled in TD. With these tweaks the map would get more used. Atm there's no point to go in.

Pinning is the game feature/bug that allows freezing of monster so you can cause ranged damage on them without getting in hand to hand combat. Mostly seen in Bethel invasions, also common at dragons. Mare Bulangiu can't be pinned, for some reason this is also the mob that is always killed last in invasions. Binding stone price went to skies because of easy dragon scales. One person can easily farm 40 scales a day if they invest time in the game. There is not enough binders to convert the scales into armours naturally, but the EL shop brings plenty in game. This is income for developers, but for many players it eventually is shown in increased prices for items. 20k gc / binding is doable at current dragon armour prices... Having top level monsters highly vulnerable to single person makes no sense. What happened to Dragon epicness? Some spawns were already made unpinnable ages ago. There obviosly were reasons for this, why not finish the job? Bethel invasion last wave is cleared by ranging from safety of cliffs, no challenge, no risk. Just slaughter fest. Later on when there's more room for fighters (risk of dying becomes small enough) the top levels can finish it off but with risking death on lag spike, disconnect, gangbang etc. Ranger has no such risk. When arrow is shot, gc is removed from game (train ammunition only from npc at 10gc ea.) This is good. In Bethel invasion I end up positive gc. Even basic dragon can drop the amount of gc spent on ammunition. This is the top lvls with ap, same ppl that actually train ranging. Not saying ranging doesn't remove gc from game, but that having pinning in game doesn't really increase gc removal. Omg it can't be removed now, too many have gained advantage of the pin it would just be so unfair!! Hypocrite! Yeah, poll option has the rangers opinions. Some might actually admit, just so we know how many omg hypocrites there are. There has been no talk of pin removing by dev team that I'd have heard, just curious of opinions. Share them.

Look at Kaddys list. Count the estimated value of average PKer gear. Notice you can be the one getting the loot. It is an investment.
-
Sorry, only 1 ice scale. And no, I have none on bot either.

This is a classless game. Get your best gear, prepare to go to TD and pm me. I will demonstrate why no one goes there. Bring a friend. RSVP

Actually I've been supporting the challenge for what... 2 years? Took screenies of it and gave to mods so it'd be known to devs. Showed it to mods in action. I think I have even pmed straight to Radu about it too. And this is way back before there was AP introduced...

That's why whatever you say is worthless. Because your mouth talks without your brain. You don't even know what the fire damage will be, but you know it will be useless. The damage can't be too much above maximum phoenix resistance, and absolutely not too much becauce of Bethel pin slaughterfest. Now if it's like other effects it happens every 10 seconds. Wtf can one kill with few dmg happening every 10 seconds? Even if there's 10 of them? The phoenix group is thanksgiving dinner before it has chance to scorch anything. If it's made do constant big dmg it's ridiculously OP. Fine line of OP and useful...

I like the sound of that Can't wait to see those filthy rich mixers who make 20k gc / hour without grind or risk to level phoenix max and take over KF. Though if it's basic heat damage it'll be absorbed by armour and buffs, so will it ignore armour modifiers? It's no problem to reach the max phoenix 14 heat prot even without doing compromises on the armours. Just drawing conclusions based on the Phoenix abilities. My opinion, based on that it's heat damage, is that it's useless and that Korrode's buff idea beats the AoE in usefulness. So down to 1 scenario that works really well. Unless the phoenix damage bypasses all armour modifiers and phoenix is immune to it's own dmg.

Probably as it is the toughest mob.. for the same reason the goblins and ogres tend to get killed first. Last night invasion with Robin Tell. I log in and 3 monsters left. Been like that for a while too. There were few going to take the MBs, but one died due to lag. Not many fighters take on Ice Dragons either, but surprisingly the Iceys die in invasions the moment someone finds one. No risk. If they were pinnable, there'd be 0 mobs. Killing mare bulangiu is a team effort, the way it is supposed to be on top monsters. There are two opinions to this. Those who like some challenge and those who like easy levels. I always thought EL was supporting the challenge.

Cutlass - 35k gc

Hint: look at the phoenix abilities. So it would be the answer to the lack of damage it can inflight in the phoenix form?
-
Solves nothing, there already is True Sight.

Korrode is better at this but... Obviously it's about PK. It does area damage, only place where you get several players in PK area at once is in KF. Phoenix has decent survival ability and allows it to run around while burning with AoE. I doubt this is it, because you mentioned it's something that works very well. This doesn't. If underpowered and one is fighting several, phoenix can damage them all. Your tank will just be dead faster and the opponents will have nps to survive anyway. Not this either. I seem to be clueless. Please, do enlighten me. :S

Just my opinion; I think implementation as you describe isn't so great. AoE's really need to discriminate between guildie (and possibly allies), and enemies (i.e. everyone else). I see at LEAST 2 scenarios, 1 PK, 1 PvE where my idea will work very well. Care to guess what those scenarios are? Slaughter fest with pinned mobs in Bethel?

So let me get this straight: The more dragon scales, the more expensive the dragon armor is? The more dragon scales, the more worthless the scale is. Some ppl like getting rid of the scales instead of hoarding them. Only thing keeping the dragon armour prices up is binding stone. If I wanted, I could sell ice scales 1gc and still cover the ranging cost. Current prices with armour atm I could afford to pay 20k ea and still get armours done and sold with competitive pricing. Lots of scales, need more binds, pay more for binds. Pay more for binds and price of anything with CoLs rise. Lots of stuff has bind in recipe so it affects all. I single handedly made the whole ice scale market bend over by filling all bots buying them on one day and adding 100 to sell on my own bot. It went from 9-10k value down to 4-5k in no time. This was no accident. Dirty Easy.

magic immunity also prevents casting
Dugur replied to Gilrain's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
:omg: This couldn't be further from the truth! 1. MI + MD = more magic exp (better for training magic) 2. Do you really think it's worth MD a bear if he only hits you back with it because you don't have MI on? Yeah, lets take the useless approach: Gilrain, it's mana burn, not mana drain. Paul, this is about having the change where with MI no spells can be cast. With MI - no burn. Without MI - cast drain and no burn. Can't have both if planning to stay on topic. And if you insist on staying on topic and adding mag exp, then it's MD+LD. Better exp/gc ratio than your MI+MD. Or be cool and turn into Phoenix (!) and farm in peace. -

No MI - death in seconds. MI and no restoring - death in seconds. Death in seconds when PKing has no fun to it. Also it would be very random, who gets biggest crits and haxed mol, sop and mirror. Against several opponents this is a joke. Phoenix is already OP, would make it even worse
