The will would be pretty pointless. Not totally. More ethereal points. more rationality (+4 via will and reasoning). When the bards start playing your battle tune, you get more stubborn about bashing your opponent to bits (roleplaying). Magic is stronger due to higher rationality too.

While in Linux, I turned on UVP and the actors were invisible. I logged out and back on. I now have UVP with players visible.

I would love to see a bard spell where if you are not taking damage or fighting, allied guilds or instance/invance team members would get +4 reasoning, +4 will, +4 vitality, +4 instinct.

Are you keeping track of the number of tickets too?

So you would look at ticklemonster and think he has alot of physique. lol He has 4 physique and a bunch of will. In real life, there is no life bar, but you can still get a rough idea of how much physique a person has just by looking at them. In game, you see a life bar, but have no idea how much is will and how much is physique.

If you want to know if uninvited people come onto a channel and there was an option to see people who come onto a non-standard channel (turned off by default), then you could do #announce_visitors (for a possible command) to tell you when people join/leave the channel. This would be pretty similar to IRC (internet relay chat) systems.

It would be interesting if you could get a rough idea of a person's physique. Perhaps having the accuracy of it based on your perception level. Seeing accurate stats for people is a departure from role-playing. Looking at a person that is in combat might allow you to get rough ideas of a person's reasoning, coordination and instinct. Once more, a basic role-playing concept. You have to see a person using attributes to guess at what they are. For physique, well, that is physique....should be easy to guess just by looking at a person. The server could even give you comparisons to monsters. "that person seems as strong as a cyclops and and coordinated as a panther"

I have mentioned this before in other threads and I will mention it again. I once played a game where if there was a considerable difference between player levels, they could not fight eachother without the permission of the weaker person. Since a number of people avoid pk maps due to big strong pkers attacking them when they have no chance of defending themselves at their low a/d levels, forcing you to wait for permission from the weaker person would make the low level fighters less afraid of going on the pk maps. It would also make it so that there could be a couple of low level fighters fighting right next to a pair of high level fighters. The trickiest part would be how to handle the summons that exist in this game. Such a change would not have to be for all maps. Just one map would probably increase the amount of pk. It would be a trial ground for the implementation.

Funny thing that you mention people logged on because I am logged in alot more now that I write books (terrible fail rate still). In fact, I am almost logged on for 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Action points kind of skew the idea of judging player base by the number of people logged in.

Peace day is the day for engineers to hunt dragons. Not very efficiently, but still. Peace day is also a day for many people to do quests on pk maps or just normal dangerous maps. Hydro mining is not as bad if you have at least 10 engineering and decent vision because then you can usually see the mines that are placed. Going in groups will make hydro mining even better. You could, for example, bring a newb or new member with you and show them where the hydro is. There is some kind of cool sites on the way to the hydro, so sight seeing might be fun. if you follow in the other person's footsteps, only the first person in the line is likely to die. Peace day is a neutral day for a reason. It is neither good nor bad. There are people who enjoy the day.

A bot's ban list and a bot's preferred customer list are both great places to keep track of people you do/don't trust or do/don't like. To note that someone is not to be trusted, you could just /mybot ban whoever. When it comes to roleplaying, a bot is essentially your store-keeper and if you don't want a person shopping at your store, you don't have to let him. Amaara mentioned fair values and such. Well, a number of goods sell at under ingredients price. Why sell an item to a person for under ingredients price when you don't like them? Ban them instead. If you have a good number of allies like PEN does, set the non-preferred price to ingreds + mixer fee in addition to banning anyone you dislike or don't trust.

It is not just individual people that I ban from my bot. I have a good number of guilds banned from my bots. If the people that would try to support someone that is banned from your bot are in a guild that is also banned, they will not be able to support that person as easily. "More damaging to the bot owner".....it would be more damaging to me to know that scumbag X got something he needed from my bot for anything less than ten times the value than to not sell something.

Still working out the bugs on official custom guild clothing? Will there be an image size restriction imposed? It seems to me that the unofficial custom clothing sites have taken up over 100MB on my laptop. I would love to have PEN be the first guild with official custom clothing. For official custom clothing for individual's, would there be a group discount if more than one person from a guild was to get the same custome clothing at the same time?

If you are talking about 2nd part of medallion quest yes we have been waiting for months since we had to donate scythe to NPC for it. Maybe it will be like Engineering Tutorial (which has no achievement) and not have any reward other than text "Sucker!". It is more than just that. There are a number of NPC's that sound like they are offering a quest but they are just telling a background story. Until dialogue changes or we get a reward, there is no way to tell if an NPC is telling you something for a quest or just telling a background story.

Something should change in multi-combat, you say, scarr? How about a chance to hit one of the other people in the combat (friend or foe alike) when you miss the person you had intended to hit? It would be much more realistic that way. Of course, it would change the "there must always be a tank" strategy that people usually use for instances and invances as well. That last part might actually make Radu kind of happy since he does not seem to like tanks.

There have been a few times when I have talked to an NPC and I was sure it was starting a quest, but it was not. It was only setting a little bit of background for the game NPC's. I imagine one problem with some of the players of the game is that they will flip through the NPC's dialogues in order to start a quest without actually reading it. The same people would most likely flip through the NPC's dialogues until they see another quest in the list and in the process, miss important information that might be necessary to proceed in the quest. That, of course, is not a problem with the game but instead a problem with a few impatient people who play it. Even if a bit of dialogue from an NPC does start a quest, we have no guaranty that the quest has an end or even any reward attached to it yet.

When you make uber defense greaves let me know, I'd like to buy them at the price of the ingredients. ROFL I don't sell my rares or much of anything else. I have steel cuisses of mana drain so far.

I doubt even the segregation of lower level and higher level characters that other games sometimes do could stop the stupidy/impatience/greed of the players that F'd up the game's economy. It might perhaps help some, but it won't fix it entirely. It would be a headache to try to decide on the rules for such things since the main point would be to stop them from doing business transactions with each other. Someone asked me if I would sell them steel greaves lately. They didn't realize bot prices were about 10k too low for current ingreds prices. In such cases, you can only trade undervalued items for undervalued items (with gc to make up any difference) if you plan on having both sides be happy.

Well, I see Radu has been giving this a try. First with 12 hours and now 14 (as of Friday). Does it seem to be working well for you so far?

I am interested in an update on that. My laptop is wearing out the fan and I would like one that could stay cool while playing EL with 2 EL client windows open.....and maybe a streaming video. If one of those laptops with video build into the CPU chip works welll, I think I will go for it.

You posted the same link twice. On another note, I also discovered that same thing monkeybooy did. I had posted it on a thread about the kill counters not matching up with how many Haidir said you should kill. I really think there is a connection.

Ah. you found that bug too, huh? I posted about it on a thread about debates over how many of a spawn you killed before the haidir quests completed. The thread went silent after that. lol

Don't even bother changing the time ever. There is often a setting on smart phones to update itself by the cellphone network. If that is enabled, you will never have to set it again.

Ticklemonster has 48 will and 6 vitality. If I was to get him the up to 5 animal nexus and start training his summoning hard, it would be a crime to not allow him to summon a zoo. He sacrifices so much toughness to have the build he has. He will have toughness later via vitality and not physique. If a person has the level to summon ACW, they must have really worked hard to get there. Of course the people that have not worked hard to get there would complain about it. Meanwhile, the archers will say the summoners are OP and the summoners will say the archers are OP and most people would agree that it is hard to avoid being a fighter. If you make a certain summoning level required to use a summoning stone, the market for them would be in jeopardy and newbs that need backup during pk or invances or normal training would be out of luck for a while. Lower level invances are much easier with a summoning stone and less people would be likely to go to them if they could not use them and that would affect Radu's brick sales. Some people in the game work hard on their skills of summoning/engineering/ranging/fighting/magic and deserve to be feared in that category.
