Having been away from EL for quite some time I have had to create a new character as my old ones seem to have been deleted (yes its been that long since i played). Anyways at the character creation all i could see was a white character and background and shades of white, but i figured this must be the norm and that by clicking on the little arrows color would be added to my character. but it didn't. then once into the game after a short while the game screen went all white and shades of white, but when i entered a shop, the color would return. I asked in-game about this and someone suggested using the Poor man toggle, i did so and color was restored and no other problems have yet come to light. BUt i would still like to change my base characters appearance as i just dont like it, so if someone could tell me how i can do this it would be appreciated thnx......

hmm.... no as i say, i aint that technical and dont really want to mess around with things i know nothing about so i guess i wont be playing EL again anytime soon. Pity, i was looking forward to playing the game again, which i migh add, i was not having any trouble playing it first time round except for occasional bit of lag.

Linux distros are free. No reason to spend $$. Win98\Me was a nightmare then (I had to IT support it) and beyond a nightmare now. I've just done a search for this Linux, Would I need to Install it or could I run it from a "Live CD" as they call it to be able to play the game???? Also will it run along side my Current MSWIndows?? Note I am not a computer wiz, so if it has to fully installed, then its a no go. Currently there is nothing wrong with my pc short of it being old by whats out on the market now. So i have no inclination to want to mess with it.

hmmm if thats the case then the games not worth the cost am affraid, that and i just dont have cash to splash about buying a new computer.

Been sometime since i was on this game, infact i have reformatted my HD since i was last on so no longer had the game loaded. On trying to come back to the game i have come across a problem in that i cant even get the game to run. I downloaded the 1.5 ver thats listed in the downloads section. then after doing a quick check an re-boot, i clicked to start the game, only to get two error messages on me screen; Error Starting Program "The EL.Exe file is linked to missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGetFolderPathA" C:\Program files\Games for the PC\Eternal Lands\el.exe "A device attached to the system is not funtioning" Here's some system specs Processor Speed (in GHz) 750ghz RAM (in MB; 1 GB = 1024 MB) 192mb Graphics Card (model, maker, and video memory [in MB]) Radeon 9200 series Hard drive space (In GB) Version of Eternal Lands running downloaded the 1.5 ver Operating System and version Wondows 98se Internet connection speed. 56k At time of trying to start game up, i had nothing else running....... (From having to re-format me HD i no longer had any EL related info on my computer)
