I've identified the bug. The exp for next level doesn't change until the next time you get exp after you gain the level.
-
How about requiring less coal for smelting? Technically, that's an alchemy skill, but there already is an alchemy cloak, and people with 30+ manufacturing are going to want to make bars.
-
I never said that. I was making a suggestion as to how to improve it. It annoys me when people complain to Ent about something in the free game that he lets them play. I'm just trying to help him out, I'm sorry if I came across as pissed off (I have no idea how you could get that impression from my post).
-
Wow, thank you for that constructive and inspiring comment.
-
That's the big one for me too, but some of the regular stone bridges are a bit quirky too.
-
Near (132,88), the bridge, probably a height map problem. I float slightly, and both my shadow and the bridge's shadow get "weird" (rotate the camera). The bridge might not be connected to the ground either.
-
The other side of the bridge does it too.

You could change the "lose item" logic to skip quest items. Once we have a lot more people, this is going to happen more often. The game needs to deal with it somehow. Also, you shouldn't be able to drop or give away (via trade) key quest items.

I think there should be some sort of magic resistance skill, like defense only for magic instead of physical attacks, that would be increased whenever you have a harmful spell cast on you.
-
I saw a magic defense, but it looks like it would be more like armor (increased by an item) than defense (increased by experience). Perhaps both? Ok, I'll leave you alone until magic is closer to being done
-
So am I. I've been planning on writing an ebuild. If it's ok with Ent, I'll do it this weekend.
-
Make sure the directory is writable by your user/group. I get the same error if I can't write to the directory (and subdirectories).
-
The archways in Crystal Cavern do this too.
-
There would be the differences between the commercial version and the free version . . .

I'm sure directfb was, for one.

alt-h should toggle all health bars. You probably didn't see yours because your health was negative.
-
This also applies to entering and leaving the back rooms.

$ sdl-config --libs -L/usr/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib -lSDL -lpthread No idea why your libSDL depends on so much crap . . . did you build it yourself, or get a binary from somewhere?

Guild controlled castles (not owned)
Cicero replied to Slayton's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
If you were to implement that, you could also make it so that the good stuff only spawns when the castle is occupied by a guild. -
I think you should have to buy maps. TAB would only work if you had that particular map in your inventory. Also, I'd like a crystal cavern map. It still confuses me

Why are gargolyes Offensive? And in WSC?
Cicero replied to crusadingknight's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
Either as an alternate solution, or in addition to defining a range, you could define a lifespan for creatures. After a certain amount of time, they just disappear and respawn. This would prevent the animal/monster from wandering too far from their spawn points. The downside would be that if you're chasing an animal, and it suddenly disappears... -
On the contrary, after I posted this, while I was mining silver with several other people, someone commented that we should have a miners guild.
-
My fps are also down to ~60 from ~100. Also linux here, but I think I heard a lot of people complaining as soon as they started up the beta. The nickname's don't disappear, they hide behind objects. Change glDepthFunc or something when they're draw, so they always appear on top? Don't know much about OpenGL. However you're drawing the health bars works right.

no, the problem is that the exp is fine UNTIL you fight a battle. That, and it shows that I have a ton of magic exp, but I've never used magic (lv0).
