Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. There are game rules which you can't break and there are player rules which you shouldn't break if you want to get along in the community. Break the player rules of a community and expect it to act against you. No it's not, they may just be virtual items but they take time to get and what better currency is there than time?

I like radar because normally the attacking side should win, hate the stalemate def maps like fueldump (although it's improved with the forward allied spawn). Oasis was my favourite but haven't played in a while, there were some decent custom jobs starting to show up last time i did.

see, there's another problem. if you give people enough time to get somewhere safe then they also have enough time to do a disconnect cycle, and stay PK-proof all day... it'd be a pain, but at least it'd be playable... and hence not allowed maybe if it didn't activate until you changed map with the day active, in my opinion if you can stay on the same map for 6 hours and thus avoid the PKing then well played to you

I actually like this idea, it would limit the supply to some extent and perhaps keep the market stable for these metals and things made from them.

I summon 3-4 bears at a time on the ants, they don't live for very long and generally reduce the crowding in an area. It's the only way i've ever made money at summoning

This day won't solve the problems with PK, it'll just spread them to all the other maps. From another thread, refering to going to PK maps: The a/d limits on this day will at least mean anyone prepared to fight will have time to dis/run away (albeit to a very limited safe area) but what happens to all those who aren't prepared? Let's say the day starts and an a/d 100/100+ player just happens to be mining some silver for HEs, the day changes and suddenly he can harvest 5-10 exc cloaks before the players around him can do anything about it. ttl has made some very good points about the other problems with this day so i'll not bother to repeat them. There you go, nail on the head I've thought a lot about a karma system, the main problem I run into is how to prevent people fighting their friends over and over to raise their karma. Another idea I had was to remove the floor on XP when fighting players so if someone is much weaker than you you'll lose XP from fighting them. Trouble with this is that losing XP for the one hit it takes you to kill someone isn't really much of a deterent :/ I'm not a fan of hard coded limits but if a karma system can't be implemented the only other thing i can think of is only allowing people to attack people up to X levels below them.

This one i like best so far. However, having the death essence value moved into more ring of damage value would i think be better for crafting. How does 1 stone of binding, 25 RoD, 1 serp stone sound? Cheap enough to be used but not so cheap that everyone has a few they'll use without thinking. Also cheap enough that two people with timing would be able to take out someone restoring at 70. EDIT: the problem with this is that right now there is a surplus of damage rings and serp stones, maybe an NPC could temporarily buy up rings of damage for either gc or 100 damage rings for a RoP ?

not a lot of point going until you're top 200 (70ish ad) since all the "evil" PKers will have killed anyone worth fighting at a lower level 50s ad with decent P/C will at least buy you time to dis and tele/run like mad. EDIT: if you're lower try the arenas, at least you know what you're in for before entering

Could make it 7 seconds so it's like using ring of damage before cooldown. Good point about the price being too high by the way, if it costs more than a rost then anyone worth using it on will likely have a rost ... maybe the original formula was fine after all? Neither RoP nor extra mana/health are of much use :/

nothing. I like the EME idea, it'd make the RoP back into something you get while making something you need again. EDIT: although this would depend on how the enrichment stone recipes are. I'd still like a few more RoD in there
