Hey all, there has been a lot of random chat about ideas on trying to get more NEW people interested in the game... So my question to you is what sparked the interest of EL for you? And what things do you think could be different to help new players get involved and stay involved in the game? PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS ABOUT HOW OTHERS IDEAS WON'T WORK, please just let people know what you think Update: 1. So far the biggest thing people have commented on is how new players are treated, this is something that as a member of the game we can all fix on our own 2. More events or things for the new players is also something that can be done in guild settings, another thing that we control as a member rather then the game maker

Hey, it might be cool to have a stone that when used on an ordinary day it will change it to a random positive special day... and add this stone to harvesting events... maybe make it so its as rare as a rosto find when harvesting

I think this was the main part of Orick's suggestion. I think it's pretty nice one. Won't be another source of day stones that are already in game ... can be nice for a change - who knows, maybe you get Recycling, Tailoring, Scholars, Reconstruction, Mana and other popular positive days - not only those which has specific daystone already. Add there neutral days like NDD or no grief - well... Also the suggested way how to get one is pretty fine with me - similar to dung teleporters, you can get it only while harvesting specific resource (not telling they should be so common of course!). I can imagine this will work, little lottery to please many or maybe newbs only (Day of Print for example). But, with last update with bigger chance to special days happening - it's too early to tell how more often it will be (last week was pretty nice with random days) and if such stone idea is really needed. Anyway, I support this idea yes my idea was that the stone did not have a name but triggered a role on all the pos days when it was used so it came out totally random but a good day

So right now we are allowed to take our bots to sto 2x a week, what if there was a blessing that allowed us to take our bots to storage more times... Make it so you have to have 4 emu blessings then you can pay 100 usd for a year of taking your bot to sto 3 times and with 6(max) emu blessings then you can pay 50 usd for a year of 3 times a week or 100 usd for a year or 4 times a week...

That is one of the stupidest ideas you ever made. This will premium $ players and EL is famous for not doing that. What is next? Daily passes? Or maybe availability of daily quests ONLY for P2P characters? I understand that financial support is important. I agree with items available only via shop or official GC auctions. But your idea Orick ... bicz plz … My idea was a spout and not real....

One of the biggest deterants to just increasing the drops in those two instances is because of alternative characters. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having multiple characters and experimenting with different builds and aspects of the game. I also think having a few alts in an instance can make it run more smoothly and help newer players learn to do them on their own. However, there are a few problems. Iirc, the 60-80 instance is the only instance with a single available map. This means that only one team can be inside at a time. If the drops were increased to make it farmable by a team of alts, I doubt true newer players would get to go often because the map would always be full. Developers could increase the number of maps to fix this problem, but then there could be more teams of alts going and farming it so I don't necessarily think this is the best solution. I think the biggest problem for actual new players as far as instances are concerned is obtaining the gear to go. The minimum acceptable gear in my opinion is a steel set with holam and a great sword. According to bots atm, gear costs are: Holam: 62k Steel Plate: 81k Steel Cuisses: 33k Steel Greaves: 25k Great Sword: 40k Mirror Cape: 14k (Tank only) or BP Cape: 3k (Fighters) Short Bow: 2k 257kgc. That is not including sigils for magic, training magic level (L49 highly recommended), resources, Rostogol Stones, AP for ranging, Mule Levels, or NMT cape if they can't afford the pp. If you are a harv/mixer, that is on the order of 30-40 hours of focused gold coin making for someone who already knows what they are doing to get the base equipment needed to go. Alts typically have better gear sinec the players know what they need and how to make gold coins. Just increasing the drops won't get the newer players inside the instance. If you want more true newer players to go, there needs to be a much cheaper equipment alternative. RM is right... I would like to add that possibly adding an xp bonus to lower lvl instances might make them worth more to new players, also making it less farmed by alts... and/or possibly adding another lower lvl instance that is easy to finish, can't have cooldown removed but has a small small chance to drop nice items but giving you a good xp bonus so it can't be farmed by alts

How does someone els working less make it so you have to work harder then you already work to get the same thing? I'm not sure if its just my perspective or if its actually working already but I have been working with and seeing more new players in the game then in a long time.... So something's working in my opinion

I agree learner!!!! How about make it so they can only be used by the person who radu gives them to(the person who pays) and can't be resold? That's a great idea

Hey all, I have been working with some new players to the game lately and one of the things that they mentioned to me was now overwhelming chan 3 was when they tried to check out prices on fire essence and other things... for us its easy because most of us have #ignore Bots on and don't view the constant role of adds... I think it would be helpful and less overwhelming for new players if the bots had there own chan to advertise in or the bots advertisements were auto turned off for new players now i know back in the day this idea was overturned but now a days there are SO many more bots that the adds don't stop so if someone is trying to get help at the same time its really hard for them to stay caught up with whats happening

It's an interesting idea but not sure it's worth trying... Right now most (not all) invasions are done in maps with choke points or that are smaller maps in order to control the style of fighting... If the ai was programmed to have all the creatures walk over the choke point rather then random higher lvl invasions would be to hard to control and fewer people would partisapate in them... But the idea to make some of them flee or ambush is really cool for special invasions... But as dev pointed out its a lil harder then just changing a setting

I agree with dev on this one... Hahaha your right, that would be way funny in PK areas... Such as that PK platform looking place in C2... Can't remember the name of the map it's on tho

There is a pop down that reads market on the Channels tab... New players check stuff like that out usually rather quickly when exploring there screen when they get a lil bored harvesting

So we need to bring in more money to the game ang your best idea in doing that is to make stuff cost less? The only thing that will do is put more Rostos in the game, people who spend 100 usd on Rostos will still only spend 100 usd on Rostos but rather then but them as often as they do they will buy them less often because there will be less of a demand for them... How does this help? And this game should stay a free game... Adding a NEW feature that costs money will NOT take away from YOUR fun in the game, but it will bring back people that left due to the mini events and charge THEM to play... People are so dumb when they say that making new features cost money takes from there game experience

Lol... C now that's your real problem, you want a better price for them not more availability... I sold over 20 whistles at 60k each, you just don't want to pay what they go for... Also many many people have bought them for 40k each, witch is the lowest price per USD that you can get from unofficial ways

This only applies for under lvl 20 iirc. With dailies, that is passed too quickly for you to really learn everything you need to be safe. I agree with Grort... There are some new players in my guild that were only in the game for 3 days before they were lvl 20... I think it might be nice to up the lvl to the lowest starting invance lvl... Witch I think is 40
