windows 7, could use some help

ok the new computer i have doesnt have the ordinary cable linking it to my tv like my other pc does, i have an hdmi cable. now everything is great on my old computer, when i play el or wach youtube etc on my new one the colours seem off and is looks a little blocky. i took a screen shot and looked at it on my old computer and looks perfectly fine so it must be something going on with the display settings i have set up, could someone please help me set up my hdmi settings

I don't know Windoze, but NVidia cards come with a setup program that can adjust the graphics settings. Have you tried running this program? Should be on the supporting CD that comes with the card.

You're sure you have the latest drivers for your card from nvidia's website? (not just from Windows Update)

yeah nvidia says its up to date, i used the nvidia control panel

Do you have the display set to the native resolution of the tv? Certainly using the wrong resolution with a lcd monitor can make the picture look somewhat distorted.
