    Not dead, just a low population (but them main ain't that great either anymore). Everyone there likes it a LOT more than main (which is why we're all still there).

    Easily accomplished by doing a server wipe for the duration of the contest, then doing a fresh copy from main after the contest is done.
  3. New perk ideas

    At 7pp, I definitely can't imagine it. Maybe harv accounts who do nothing but harvest dung all day ... As probably the closest match to that description (on the main server) I can say definitely: NO. At one PP, I might consider it to save a bit of walking. At 7, well, as they say, "I'll have what he's having". If someone wants harvesting perk ideas or changes, ping me in-game (either server, when I'm not afk yet again). I've got a bunch I'd love to see. :-)

    They've been watching for illegal trades on the main server for YEARS (until using alts was made legal). It should be easy to monitor that on the PK server for a week or so and ban any participants who broke the rules. But you're correct, you'd want all participants to start from the same point and have the same level playing field during char development. For example, I'd be happy to shut down my trade bot on the PK server for a week or so if the rules called for no bot sales (only NPCs).

    Do you really need a new server (which I doubt Radu would want to create) for this, or could it be done on the existing PK server? You couldn't setup all the NPC stuff as described above (it would be stock as it is on the PK server), but you might be able to do something with the Guild NPCs in WSC. Since it's a separate server it would be pretty easy to limit what store items could be purchased on that server to reduce the advantage by those with more disposable income.

    I'm fine with global messages when fruit are found, and I agree that they all should be anonymous.
  7. Sounds like luck of the draw to me. No-harvest #days kill harvest dailies. No-mix #day interfere with any dailies that require mixing (if you don't have pre-mixed stuff in storage). Sometimes thing just go wrong and you work around it or deal with it.
  8. Blocking of Resources

    There's no resource blocking on the PK server (and precious little PK since they all got bored and left years ago).
  9. You could make it such that your char could not move until you removed the over-nexus item (similar to how you can't move if you end up with more stuff than your EMU can carry).
  10. Enhance Pheonix

    Sort of a chicken/egg situation. People don't use it because it's not finished or useful, so the implementation isn't completed because people aren't using it. Any new feature needs to have some value or use for people to want to start using it.
  11. Perhaps it's just me (and remembering when Rosts were more like 20K) but these two statements just don't seem to go together. I wonder if net income for Entropy would go up or down if Main server Rosts were $1 as they are for the PK server? Would the increased usage (and loss) track the decreased price?

  13. I was under the impression that at the client end you could only point to one server for custom clothes. If true, then it's in everyone's best interest to have only one "official" unofficial server for all the unofficial custom designs. That way everyone can see the same stuff without the need to get it accepted/hosted on multiple servers. Of course, if my initial assumption is wrong, so is all that followed (other than the hassle of getting your customer stuff hosted multiple places).

    Traditionally I've used the Olivine map-pack. I'm also a small EL window user, with my large size set at 800x600 and my small size being 640x480 (I've always got a client open on each server, plus other stuff going on in my browser). The fonts used are very readable. I think mixed case is easier to read THAN ALL CAPS ON THE MAP, but perhaps the small letters on mixed case would get too small to read on the smaller window sizes. I do miss the marks for the teleport and ring landing locations, but I don't know how truly useful those are and if they're worth the additional clutter. I find the stars markings hard to see on the small maps. I think the circle with a black edge as used on the Olivine maps are a lot easier to see. The map legend seems a little cluttered to me (again compared to what I'm used to) but that's personal preference. Does the map-pack include the two continent maps? I'm seeing the standard EL ones and I miss having the map names on there. Anyway, it's a find job and I really appreciate having a supported and up-to-date set of maps available. Thanks.
  16. Idea: new multiplier stone

    I don't think the idea will fly, but it could use a random multiplier ranging from 1.5 down to 0.9 (or 0.75). The odds are in favor of an increase, but sometimes you lose stuff instead. Now THAT would be an interesting gamble to take. My 1M dung might go as high as 1.5M, but it might instead flush down to 750K. It's a crap-shoot either way.
  17. Minimap Mule Mote Miscolorization

    But the mini-map is not showing genus and species, it's basically showing who controls the entity: player (plus ally relationships), NPC (fixed, interactive), or creature (random, mobile). A mule is controlled by an player, not the computer. Besides, something like a goblin is no more an "animal" than several of the playable races. So saying a goblin should be one color and a draegoni or orchan a different color because a goblin is an "animal" makes no sense.
  18. Harvesting Powerups

    From the recent post in Updates: "Harvesting powerups available from redeemer, at a cost of 5 for each Xaquelina daily mission. They protect against some negative harvesting events, and are totally transparent (ie. you will not know when they happen, except that the number of powerups will decrease when such an event is prevented)." So how do you know how many powerups you currently have (how do you know you are out and need to get more)? Can we get a list of what negative events they negate (not that it matters much, I'm just curious)?
  19. Crowd Etiquette

    The problem with access to storage would be GREATLY reduced if the range to trade was made larger. At least as large as your ability to interact. It's a real PITA to click the NPC, open storage, try to put something in/out, and THEN get a message about being too far away.
  20. GC Drop Rates

    For me, a/d training is also way to boring to be worth doing: click a critter, restore if needed, pick up bag, wait...wait...wait (yawn). Mixing (which is also boring) can be done while I watch TV or something so it's fine. But if I do something while training I miss my restore and die. As noted above, faster re-spawn would help by eliminating the "wait...wait...wait (yawn)" part.
  21. Tele to illegal spot in KF

    I was harvesting some fruit in KF and hit a teleport nexus. It placed me at 67,106 which is between a rock, the fort wall, and some plants. There is no way to walk out of that spot.   22. Server Crash during wtf

    It just came back up for me (10:20 Pacific). #stats shows it was NOT a server crash, so some sort of network outage.

    I believe it's basic statistics. All things being equal, if you have two choices you'll, on average, get each one 50% of the time. If the number of coices increases to 10, you'll get each one 10% of the time. So the more choices are added, the lower the odds of getting any particular one (from 50% down to 10% in this example).

  25. Kind of like rule 5? :-) We can always hope mini's will eventually be dropped from main as they were from the PK server.
