  1. More realistic temperatures

Yes, more random features to worry about. We could always use those.
  2. SleepyJo guild |W|

Nice job. EL needs more guilds like this ^-^
  3. City building

    No sooner than 2010
  4. Eternal Lands Misfits

The sexiest guild evar is looking to take some new members. We are the official, "Do whatever the hell you wish" guild in EL. Want to PK, but other guilds take EL too seriously? Do you just want a place to hang out? As you see, we'll take anyone! -disclamer-Providedtheymeetoutotherrequirements-disclaimer- All you need is a skill over 20, a willing effort to attempt the English language, and a willingness to make fun of TirasHazor to be considered. (14 years or older in age is preffered.) Just apply at our forums here: The Beam.net Forums or drop a message to us at channel 20, the official unofficial home of ELM. Just ignore the other spammers. We'll take anyone, regardless of EL history.
  5. Wipe and Cap

I would be for it, as long as ingrediants for items were revamped, along with the harvesting system. For this to work, many aspects of EL would need a face lift. Item ingrediants would have to change. Harvest availability would have to change. The amount of experience needed to level and amount awarded would need to change. It would be like making a new EL, which wouldn't be too bad. (Though I don't have to do the work, so it isn't that bad for me xD) EL has many features, but they seem cluttered in a way. With a wipe and some reworking, these features could stick out and improve. Some may like how EL is now, but for EL to grow, substantial changes have to be made.
  6. Guild: G-Nome (Nome)

This guild is as sexy as ELM. And that is saying something, as ELM is pretty sexy. Good luck guys d:o
  7. Thanks to....

Sora_Barzahd for making EL and HUGS so awesome.
  8. Item restrictions

The fact is that they *shouldn't* be able to earn enough gold coins to be able to purchase any high end items. Gold coins are too accessable as it is. If money is limited, prices will have to drop in order for players to sell anything. If a new player happens to pick up a death bag with high end items inside, good for them. They can put it in their storage and use it after they get some levels.
  9. A lot of new players I meet don't care. They fight with a weapon because it looks cool and it makes the boring game fun
  10. Day of Mother Nature

Day of Sora Appreciation is much better. Transfering maps is disabled on this day
  11. Regarding the Echo 'hax'

And so the plot thickens. Who could have been the perpetrator? Its time for the blame game! Start blaming and getting into blamstorming sessions.
  12. EL NFL Pool Version 2.0

The Browns will take it this year. ...I can have dreams too
  13. Connection problems

Can't connect. I'm in Southern California. US of course.
  14. ZOMG! killed teh god

Should have spawn killed him after too. Stick it to the man!
  15. EL is like glue.

EL is like a social networking chat engine. :runs
  16. Cash for clunkers safe?

They can do that already. This is just a fail-safe license that all programs do. This one just happens to be in plain English. The issue isn't privacy. The issue is how stupid the program is and how much of a waste it is. It doesn't promote long term economical growth at all and is a waste of tax dollars. What happens when people can't afford the new payments on these cars? Most of the cars being turned in aren't clunkers at all. As an 18 year old with no vehicle, I'd *gladly* take one of these cars. Instead, they destroy the engine of these cars being turned in and flatten them for not being "fuel efficient." It's complete BS, as most of these vehicles *are* actually fuel efficient. You can see a profile of each car on the website. This is just another way to promote cars the majority of people don't want. Want to see the process of how they get rid of these vehicles? That video will also link you to other videos of this being done. Another terrible plan by the Obama Administration.
  17. Environmental saving ideas!

Step One: Die. Step Two: Stay dead. Hurray!
  18. Making EL better

Uh, no. The character wipe is something that will have to eventually be done in order to implement any lasting fix on the in game economy. It doesn't do any good to try and fix the formulas or prices when there's already a large supply in the game and people who can mass produce them within minutes. The idea you've suggested about NPC's buying all items at a flat rate is great. The reality is that a wipe will be required at some point in order to actually balance things. We'll have to start from a zero. Ateh's dangerous suggestion about fun is the best suggestion. While a stable economy in game is great and needed, some elements of fun need to be added that actually attracts players who don't want to spend weeks leveling in order to do something. Sure we all have our opinions on how EL should be ideally and we want to attract players that follow the old EL style of being committed to working on a character for long periods of time, but the fact of the matter is that there aren't enough players willing to do this. EL needs money and a larger player base. More money equals more things implemented and more things fixed, and many things can be optimized. If EL wants to continue to grow, it needs to appeal to a market with enough consumers in it to sustain it.
  19. Making EL better

Right there you said the problem. Lower level players shouldn't be getting high level expensive things yet. Same problem. Everybody wants to have the best and be the best first week out. I would call that player greed. Well the way to fix this would be to make it less accessible. It's not greed if it's sitting right there for them to buy it. Anyone with the required amount of Human Nexus can wear a piece of armor or a weapon. You can reduce this by doing what Hussam has said and eliminate the PP's one could get through negative perks and PP buying, which is a short term solution, or you can set attack level requirements on weapons and defense level requirements on armor. This may drive down the demand slightly on some weapons and armors, but it gives something new players to work towards. Well, maybe it is greed, but the economy runs off of greed, just like real life. You don't need a big house or a fancy car but they are nice to have. The only thing stopping you from obtaining them is that you can't afford it, like in EL. This requires you to have to work for it.
  20. Making EL better

Player...Greed? If you haven't noticed, it takes a hell of a lot of GC to buy higher level things because of some of the ingredient costs. The lack of patience is because it takes too long to get that GC at low levels. The biggest problem is that the gold amount is the only thing stopping newbs from using said items. Once again, everything boils down to the fact that the EL economy is a huge issue. It affects everything in game and is why there's a thread every week about some scheme to curve it temporarily. I don't know how Ent puts up with it. The only real way to actually fix the economy would be a wipe and formula remodel. There's no possible way of doing this without losing the current player base, so other things have to be done to curve it. The problem is that very few like the curves done. He's got his balls locked in a vice grip under a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. This is why EL can't adapt and why even talking about trying to improve things is pointless. Nothing worthwhile can be done as any big change will scare a large portion of the player base away.
  21. Making EL better

The level gap isn't the main reason why new players don't stay. There's multiple reasons. One being the economy and how difficult it can be to get established in it if you don't know the short cuts. Another common complaint is that while the tutorial quest provides items, newbs lose them within five minutes of obtaining them, as they level past the death protection. I could go on and on, but it all leads to the same thing. EL has many issues with keeping new players that many believe to be ok, as it takes a 'certain person to play EL. This is fine and dandy, but the game won't grow. The mechanics of EL will have to change if EL is to attract more players. As for the level gap between players, it's not a big issue currently. Eventually, EL will need caps of some sort, or at least a revamp of item formulas to help curve the mass production of manufacturing items. *As a side note* For EL to truly be fixed, a full wipe will be needed.
  22. Making EL better

You know what would fix everything? A character wipe. The players don't want to do it though. Just live with the fact that EL will always be broken because of the stupid player base.
  23. Vacation

    Make a mini Radu.
  24. GC Buying & Selling

    Best idea yet
  25. Cities?

"There won't be any cities sooner than 2010, we have some other priorities now (the new engine is the main priority)." Straight from the thread.
