  1. Linux test client

I installed the development release through Synaptic in Ubuntu Hardy Heron. It automatically removed the release packages. Everything seems to be working fine. My counters are intact.
  2. Chain Armors

Perhaps instead of allowing two torso armors to be worn together, use the tailoring or crafting skill to combine two types of armor. Textile armor could be combined with chain mail to produce an armor that protects against both arrows and melee weapons. Of course, there would need to be appropriate penalties, such as reduced dexterity.
  3. Guess the player name!

    Correct. Huzzah and congratulations.
  4. Guess the player name!

    maxine
  5. How about we get a wine seller closer to storage? Why do we have to walk across MM to buy wine? If I want to buy 20k wine, it takes a long time. I'll still be spending the same amount even if the seller is closer to storage, so what do we gain by making it a slow process? Perhaps we could pay extra for a delivery service. If it is currently 15gc for 20 wine hauled by a player, how about 250gc for 200 wine delivered directly to a players storage? I'd pay it.
  6. wrong name for mixing window

You are wrong... That one made my day... Indeed. While difficult to execute, the classic "You are wrong" strategy will effectively convey a debater's point of view while simultaneously eviscerating his opponent's argument. Very impressive stuff.
  7. wrong name for mixing window

Since we're just repeating what others have said now
  8. wrong name for mixing window

I've often found it helpful to read threads before commenting on them.
  9. wrong name for mixing window

I agree with nathan. In the real world, manufacturing means to make stuff. But this isn't the real world. This is a game; a game in which manufacturing refers to a specific skill. He's right. That window is used for a lot more than just that one skill. Changing the name of the window is a very small change. I can't think of a downside to changing it. I also find it very curious how some people can be vehemently opposed to such minor things.
  10. New command #list_mods

I don't think having a command like this would be bad, but I would rather the developers work on more important things for now.
  11. NPCs

When I see a new npc, I quickly click through all the dialogue without actually reading anything. This is so that if the npc gives a quest, I start it, but if the npc does not give a quest, I didn't waste any time.
  12. P2P for everyone!

Benefits for $ has been suggested before. There are a few that already exist, like buying items from the shop. I doubt this will ever happen and I'm glad. I don't like the idea that people with lots of money will have a significant advantage over people without as much spare income. This is an old argument.
  13. How about having several grades of creature food? Each would have its own recipe. The cheap stuff would be what we have now. The expensive stuff would use more ings or more expensive ings, but would cause a mule to level up faster. The expensive stuff would have to be disproportionally expensive, otherwise no one would ever use the cheap stuff. For example, the expensive creature food could be twice as effective, but cost 3 times as much.
  14. Traffic in NC Near Storage

Either get rid of the rock or make it smaller.
  15. Possible Spells

We already have damage over time in the form of poisoning. Healing over time should be of equal difficulty, I would think.
  16. Guess the player name!

Correct. Huzzah and congratulations. That one took a long time.
  17. Guess the player name!

Those are both wrong. I'll give a clearer clue. Think of what the place in the picture is called and turn one of the letters upside down.
  18. This would be great if we could have it. Maybe there is a way to make macroing easier to detect or prevent. I would hate to see such a great feature not implemented.
  19. FYOG Perk

I don't think this would be useful.
  20. first game you ever played?

I played a QBasic game that featured two gorillas on either side of the screen. They threw bananas at each other and you had to enter the speed and angle at which to throw the banana and get past obstacles. There's a bunch of games like that. I found it on the internet around 1997.
  21. New Summoning Creatures Elementars

We have Gargoyles. Summoned a throng when I was short of wolf furs...*memories* Just because we have gargoyles doesn't mean we shouldn't have elementals. I also support adding more controls over summons, but that's a different thread.
  22. New Summoning Creatures Elementars

Perhaps there could be two levels of elementals. The low level elementals would be made with regular essences and be relatively weak. Add an enriched essence to the recipe to summon the high level version. I agree that elementals should do damage relative to their composition. Fire elementals only do fire damage. Water elementals only do cold damage. Earth elementals should only do physical damage. I don't know what air elementals would do. Maybe we could have magic elementals instead that do magic damage. Overall, I think summoning using only essences instead of animal parts is a nice change of pace and adds an interesting variation to the skill.
  23. Sounds good to me. Nathan is right. It should be rank 17 or 18, not 19.
